They can't buy off all the restrictions. For instance they can't use Incarnate Powers.

You give WAY too much credit to the "new shiny". I know of at least four old players personally that just want to play the game just like they did back in 2004 and don't care about all the "new shinies". They will most likely cancel and play for free, exactly the same way that they've been playing in the past.

Hopefully enough new "Free" players will come in and perform micro-transactions that will cover that difference, but I have my doubts.
Even if you can "buy off" most of the restrictions, the biggest reason that I'll stay a VIP is character slots. The idea of going from 12 character slots per server to maybe 6 or 7 globally just makes me shudder. It would take a fortune to buy that many slots. It won't affect people who aren't as big of altaholics as I am, but I expect plenty will have a similar reason.

That and no Incarnate content, which so far it sounds like will be VIP-only. That one might cut both ways depending on how people feel about it though

Plus, there are things like First Ward, where only VIPs can talk to the contacts there.

They don't cost 30+ points to unlock.

They cost 1 point.

Everything costs 1 point and fills up a circle.

Think of Tiers 1-8 like a restaurant shaped like a pyramid with a flat roof and think of Tier 9 like the food.

You use up the food. You don't use up the pyramid you're eating the food on.

Occasionally they're going to change the menu so you can get new kinds of food.

That's fine - but it means they'll be locked out of non-Incanrate content too

Fisticuffs, sir! My math is not faulty!

I was correcting his "Costume locked behind seven years of vet rewards" comment, rather than his vet reward conversion.

But, as I said before, they don't care about any of that.

So quick question concerning Paragon Rewards...

Since I was never around for base raids could I use my Paragon points to purchase base raids? If I can purchase base raiding, does that mean the developers will have to run off and immediately fix the base raid system since I purchased it?

Then they can. Paragon Studios is giving them a huge "thank you for your past subscription dollars".

If they want the rewards, then they can either buy piecemeal from that point.

No. Stop beating the dead horse. Same goes for bases. They will fix both when they are able to.

Von, thanks immensely for the transcribing work you put into these. I greatly enjoy having some time to wrap my head around upcoming features before they actually go live.

These rewards sound pretty darn good. I am hugely excited about an Unslotter reward (been wanting one of those for years). Heck, all of it sounds quite well thought-out.

Once there's a base raiding system, I'm sure you'll be able to purchase it with Paragon points

Then they can stay as premiums

Of course not, silly goose. :P Why would they sell you something ahead of time that is broken?

And that's the Paragon Market, where you buy stuff with points.

Paragon Rewards is the replacement Vet Reward program where you buy things from the Vet Rewards system with tokens.

And if you're a premium player, unlock features given to VIPs.

So 28/13=2, remainder 2.
A 84 month vet gets 35 Tokens... you're forgetting the extra one per year.

Forget about getting to a Badge level. A newbie gets a Token per month plus one per year.

To fill out Tier 8, you need 34 Tokens.

That's 2 years and 8 months.

And since there are currently 3 non-consumable rewards in Tier 9 VIP, then it's just about full 3 years for a newbie to max out the permanent rewards.

Black Pebble said that if the Booster was attached to a specific function IO such as the Luck of the Gambler speed increase, it would treat it as though the character had two such enhancements slotted instead of just one.

Also, Positron confirmed that these boosters are PERMANENT. They are NOT like inspirations to just give you a short-term increase.

He was unable to confirm if there is a maximum number of boosters you can use or how many such a number would be.
What is this...I don't even...

Seriously?

That sounds crazy good.

It's come up either in a previous Ustream or on the Facebook page. I'm pretty sure it was a previous Ustream, since I kind of remember writing down something similar.

So when we reach these tiers, can we only choose certain things that use the points? I am still confused about this whole thing.
