What's really great is those don't look like joke builds, because he has purples slotted (singles of course). That would be two wasted respecs to stick those in for a joke and then pull them back out. Maybe he's got resources to burn for something like that, but wow.

You should play a game because it is FUN, not because you feel compelled to grind away.
I have 160+ characters, only 2 50s, and will play any and all of them at the drop of a hat. When the new powersets and Proliferations come out with Issue 21, I will be adding at least ten characters to that roster, and deleting and re-rolling 5 of them because a new or Proliferated set is closer to the original character concept.
For example, Texas Hold Up is currently a Dual Pistols / Kinetics Corrupter. His story is that he is a time traveler from the future who went back to the Wild West to live a life of crime. The law eventually caught up to him at his hideout, so he activated his time machine to go back to the future. The sheriff shot the machine while he was in transit, and it deposited THU halfway home, in modern day Paragon City. I chose Kinetics because it was the closest thing I could refluff into a Time Travel set. With Time Manipulation on the horizon, Texas Hold Up will finally have the sets he should have had from the beginning.
Seven years later, making and playing characters with their personal stories in mind has kept the game fresh for me, and not a grind. When, if ever, it feels like a grind is when I will decide to take a break.
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):

).A Merc/Pain build with all of the personal attacks 6 slotted and two of the pets 5 slotted. And by the looks of it most, if not all, powers were slotted with 1 of everything they can take (ex; [Commando] 1x{lvl 50 Damage IO} 1x{lvl 50 KB IO} 1x{lvl 50 EndRdx IO} 1x{lvl 50 Undermined Defences set IO} 1x{lvl 50 Acc IO})... Also, I'm no expert on either mercs or pain dom, but the ommision of some powers puzzled me (Serum and Painbringer).
RX10:
Don't get me wrong, I'm all in favor of building in whatever way you want, even petless MMs to an extent (I can understand it more for Robots and Demon sumoning, as those sets have attacks (the pulse rifle and fire whip) that dont exist on any other AT. In the past this would also apply to thugs for dual pistols). The game is quite flexible and can allow you to build in different ways and still succeed.
But if you are going to lament your controller's end game performance and then show us that build... PLEASE seek build advise in the appropriate AT sub-forum. If funds and getting things from the market are an issue, specifically request builds meant for SO or generic IOs...

For instance Nullify Pain allows for:
Reduce Endurance Cos
Enhance Heal
Increase Attack RatSo Rx10 only put 3 slots in Nullify Pain, slotting one each of the above, and did the same for every single power in both primary and secondary of his Merc/Pain MM. There were the occasional Set IO, but only ever one of them.

I think it's likely that the host was overloaded somehow (possibly the large influx of people wanting to goggle at Rx10's terrible builds!) because putting in the base domain (jumbofiles.com) would not resolve either.

In Rx10's defense, I used to slot things that way, too... when I first started.
Then again, he even has purples in that build and he STILL doesn't know he can slot each part of a set into a power...

I'm in an odd situation here. I tried to open the images today since I needed a laugh, and judging from the comments here I thought I might get a good one in, but I got a little pop-up message that MalwareBytes has blocked access to a potentially malicious website and gives the IP address of the site it blocked. I did a ping on jumbofiles.com and sure enough, that's the IP that is blocked.
I'll just have to rely on the descriptions you kind people are relaying since I'm not taking the risk.
I wonder if the folks at MalwareBytes know a thing or two about what's going on with the jumbofiles servers that we don't know about.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I have hard thinking to do. Your right about my build though. I will be respecing soon since I can't get time manipulation. My controller gets her life "time manipulated" even though she doesn't have access to time manipulation. Where do I go from here?
Step 1 - Whatever you're doing that isn't fun, stop it.
You say you're tired of managing a bunch of SG's? Then ditch them. Give them to someone. Sell them.
Your money is too spread out? Consolidate it. You can email it from one character to another, up to 1 billion inf at a time.

Managing one supergroup would seem too much like work for me (I play to have fun, not because I want a second job). I am totally content being a member of a supergroup, I feel no urge to lead any of them.
Why do you need "super wealth?"
The game was not made harder to accommodate IOs. You do not need them to play, or even to have a character that performs at high levels. If you want to have a testament to this, it lies in the characters you are playing right now. You are operating under some incorrect assumptions about the way the game works, and as a result, have made some characters that others might consider "gimped."
Yet those characters are working for you, and you are able to run the most difficult content in the game with "gimped" characters. Imagine how playable those Controllers you think can't do their job would be if you took some basic advice from the Controller forums. I'm willing to bet that they can help you improve the performance of those characters by orders of magnitude without heavy or expensive IO slotting

Thanks for quoteing Rx10 so I can actually see what he was babbling about. I forget exactly why he ended up on my ignore list, but since so very few people have ever earned a place there it must have been a good reason.

I think this is possibly the best Rx10 thread yet. A prime example of just how LITTLE he understands about the game, but insists that his view is obviously correct, repeatedly, until beaten about the head with reality.
Also: Holy frijoles, those builds are terrible. Why are you slotting one of everything? No wonder your controller doesn't live up to your expectations - slot what works, which may be multiples of one thing and none of another thing - not exactly what it says on the label!
