What I would really like, not including new pieces which is an obvious:

- Allow patterns on Tankers and Tank Tops for males
- More hair styles.
- More faces
- Don't limit my selection of colors on my powers. Get rid of the "Light"/"Dark" thingy and allow me to actually customize my powers like I want to.

GG has one character and a V-neck spandex fetish. I'm not even sure she has more than one cossie.

Oh are either of the competing games planning to add a base building feature?

Because I enjoyed both games.

Even Though I Did The Cimeroa Arc To See What The Costume Looks Like I Don't Like It (And It's Free). You'd Think With A Toon With Such A Name As Mine I'd Have The Animal Pack. But I Don't. Never Wanted Her To Look Full On Animal. The Feline Face Is More Than Enough. Just Got The Steam Punk Pack Though. I Like The Wings, Guns, An Female Costume Pieces. I'll Have To Roll This Same Toon On Another Sever To Use Every Booster Pack Costume Piece. Haven't Used The Cyborg Pack Yet (Got It For Free With Architect, Now With I'd Gone With Magic Pack), Probably Never Will. Definitely Will Be Using Ever Piece In The Steam Punk Pack Though. I'm Going To Make A Version Of Feline Praetorian On Virtue That Has Dual Pistols, Then On Pinnacle She'll Have Assault Rifle. The Assault Rifle Version Will Have The Back Pack And The Dual Pistol One Will Have The Wings (Yes I've Thought This Through). Mind You She Doesn't Have ONE Praetorian Police, Or Resistance Costume Piece. Just Doesn't Fit Where I'm Going With Her Costumes. So This Pack Is A Breathe Of Fresh Air.

I think all of the booster packs are cool - I just don't need to use them
You'll probably meet me eventually

I'm waiting for the Carnival of Shadow's Strongman skin texture to be available in the creator.

I think that'd be an awesome skin for all your disfigured villains.

The other day I purchased the Steampunk and Animal packs, I went to update the look for one of my Kin defenders since I'm bringing him out of retirement once 20.5 comes out. I had the most difficult time finding the Steampunk pieces. Eventually I was able to find a few pieces but I decided I'd just print out the list of costume items and try to find them that way. I think a bit ore organization wouldn't hurt, although I'm not sure how they could go about it.

While we are talking about the CC, I think we should be allowed to use pieces from NPC in game. For the longest I've wanted a cape with a high collar like Arakhn.

I also think it would be cool if when you defeat enemies they give a chance to drop pieces of their costume that you can use.

Who do I have to *&^% around here to get more Targeted AoE recipes added?

Have all colors under skin and all colors under costume. When you pick a skin color it locks out of the costume color pallette and the two closest to it. If you change the skin color to one used in the costume all of those revert to black or white.

I'd like for the parts that can use it (mainly hats but some of the newer pieces too) to have 3 color choices and not just two.

I want to select hair styles separate from hats, even if the choice is limited. Something like "Stilleto Boot/Shiney Leather" I want to see "Fedora/Long Hair" & "Cowboy Hat/Short Hair" for example.

I want costume colors to be costume colors, not some weird combination of skin and the color I picked. Not some combination of pre-tinting on the part and the color I picked... I want the color I picked! I want white tights. I don't know how GG does it without getting a tannish-white suit. Or is that just me?

And sadly, you know that if it were possible, there'd be a constant stream of naked heroes flooding the city as people with the mentality of 12-year-olds think it's funnier when they do it than all the other bazillion people who have done it before them.

I suppose they could do something like having it so that when you pick a skin tone, you're locked out of having top or bottom costume parts within some small x% of that skin tone, but of course, that would be more programming that would have to go into the game, along with a new interface design. I doubt we'll be seeing it anytime soon.
Because you can make a male character in tighty-whities, or a female character in what amounts to little more than a string bikini, but god help us if they're fully nude (except not really because the game doesn't render naughty bits, so the models are all smooth right 'round the bend and look no different than the scantily-clad characters we can already make).

I went looking for something like a "Base Building For Dummies" guide but found nothing. No guides written for stupid people like me ...
Actually, there's quite a few guides already out there. And whole section of the forums dedicated to base building that has incredibly talented players that check it regularly, offering help & tips.

Good luck on your base!

Golly no, not City of Smooth Barbie Dolls! What if America's youth was exposed to the same horrors you find in any five year old girl's toy box!?

Just have to quickly agree with this.

IMO, the costume creator is about 40% of this game's appeal. The amount of options for the body, and even the ability to customize our own facial features, is astounding. I will easily lose track of time in the costume creator. I'll sit down to make an alt and hopefully run him through the first couple levels via street sweeping, but next thing I know I have to log off and I am just getting around to naming him!

I won't harp on the fact that I would like to see some new costume items included with an Issue update as opposed to a booster pack. Just in terms of organization though, it could use some love.

Back when I was doing my base building with the new tools unlocked in i13, I used to give people some interactive tutorials in-game, showing them the tricks I learned to do some fancy things like multi-level rooms and such. You probably just need to ask around a bit.

The not allowing people to make nude 'Barbie and Ken' dolls excuse is just that. An excuse. They're fibbin'.

If they really cared about it, then they'd fix the way the textures overlayed with the skin colors.

Case in point:

Even if you use something other than very pale skin, the white textures still blend with the skin underneath.

Now if players can already make 'Nude' characters so easily, why bother to use that as an excuse to not change the color picker to allow more color options?

When the costume save file feature was first introduced, players experimented with manually editing their save files to get colors that actually matched. Accordingly, we KNOW the game engine can support arbitrary colors.

Prove me wrong, Devs! Fix one or the other! Heck, fix 'em both! That'd be the best possible outcome!

Also,

At the very least, there should be new basic patterns for tights and 'with skin' options Every. Single. Issue.

EVERY. SINGLE. ISSUE. THERE. SHOULD. BE. MORE. PATTERNS.

I'm not talking detailed, bump-mapped armor. I'm talking simple patterns. They have in the past accepted player submissions for these... I think the Lock pattern is one of those made by a talented texture artist.

Why do we not have more of these? Why does a single issue go by without four or five of these in?

Because the art team is too busy working on costume pieces for the next booster pack? Or stuff to be locked behind Incarnate content?

Pardon my cynicism, but I really cannot fathom a more logical explanation. Simply put, since booster packs have come around, the amount of costume pieces released in Issue updates, that would be available at character inception for any subscribing customer, has decreased.

That's probably a big part of it.

Another is probably that the "low hanging fruit" has mostly been picked.

That said:

Cynicism is understandable and my first impression is the same as yours, but IIRC, the last few times this argument came up, several players provided a complete analysis of costume pieces made available issue-by-issue. The reality doesn't match that first impression. There has been no change in the rate that these are made available.

Also note that the costumes are communicated to and from the server in format the limits how much they can really add before substantial codework is needed. While this oversimplifies things, the system doesn't send the data as "bodyID=01, headID=101, hairID=11011" but instead just would send 0110111011. The client is programmed to already know that the first two character defines body type, the next three are head, the next 5 hair, etc. (actual values made up for this example) This means that each only have so many "free spaces" to fill before they've got to work some pretty risky changes to the underlying code. Just constantly adding new patterns, while easy, would fill things up eventually.

...Not to mention that you have to really check if that's what people WANT. Out of a hundred costumes I've easily made, I probably have a non-texture pattern on... at most... a dozen. (And some of them are just using "blend" to make jeans look more worn and "blast" to add a battle damaged look). Patterns alone just might not be a big enough item to demand that much dev work.
