NOTE: THESE BE NOT OFFICIAL PATCH NOTES. (We'll publish those when these fixes are live).
(Clipped list since it's getting quoted enough)
Having made a few posts criticizing stuff, let me just say that this news is fantastic and I'm glad I made the choice to purchase on launch day. I know it doesn't cover every complaint about the pack but it's really more than I frankly expected.

Last I checked the Beaten Brass Backpack was part of the Steampunk pack.

I'm disappointed curly hair without the hat isn't on the list. Being basically the only curly hair we've seen, I would like to be able to use it without requiring a hat. Please have the art team look into it.

Not being colored the way you want it is not a *fix* of a bug.

Also, it's a list of what they done so far. Did you think they recolored the backpack and Zwillinger inadvertently left that off the list? Otherwise, you're just asking for something which was already asked for and the question should have been, "Some of us have asked for the backpack to be recolored; is that on their list of things to do?"

Amazing stuff. Over half this list (particularly the options without built in ties and shirts) are things I specifically was complaining to my wife about wanting addressed in the pack, but was sure would never be even looked at again once implemented. Hopefully this a sign of a trend for future packs (or even a little tinkering with old ones).

That being said, I do hope that once the complete final list rolls around there are versions of the backpack and wings that don't have the strong inherent colors so they can be better retoned. I haven't checked the live version, but if the gold stripes on the ends of the sleeves are still not recolorable that would be awesome to.

Still I'm overjoyed on the list of changes so far. Just awesome.

You say it's not a bug. That is true relative to the way the term "bug" is being used in this instance. However I am taking a broader perspective of the term "bug" in this case by applying it to things that limit our ability to create costumes.

On this we shall simply have to agree to disagree.

So... "Time" is a bug, and so is "restraints imposed by Time and the rest of Reality" since both limit (through limiting the art team's time) our ability to create costumes?

Not to mention that not all of those items on the list are, by the same definitions, "bug fixes".

Maybe Zombie Man ate some bad brains or something. Put him in a fouler mood.

Why do people keep saying the female hair under the top hat with curls isn't tintable? I got blue hair when I was playing with my new pack live...

Also, I thought the pack came with new face maps or something. All I found were two new female faces. It didn't do anything to the old faces.

My pet peeve is people who refuse to acknowledge it when I tell them my character has unlimited power. If I rp attack them they are of course disintegrated beyond the ability of any hospital or magic to restore. Yet despite this they refuse to delete their characters and still keep playing them as if nothing happened. ~Mandu, 07-16-2010

Any indications of letting us have the Jet Pack as an actual Costume Piece too?

Yep, please!
Add the curls to the Victorian hair, so we can have a curly hairstyle without hat.

[*]Added choker without cameo
This is probably my favorite fix. When I saw the choker I was all "Why can't it be just the choker?" Didn't realize it was a bug...glad to see it was in detail 2 instead of shoulders as well.

Is it possible to get Spiked Collar put into Detail 2 as well (could keep it in Shoulders as well)

And while I didn't think it was a bug that the pack lacked it, I'm for the curly hair being made into just a curly hair option, sans the hat.

I saw the curls and was :O I must have. The hat...not so much. Sorry, bought the pack, but I bought it more for mixing with other pieces and less for the steampunk look.

Love the Victorian jackets and would love a sleeveless option (not sure if that's a bug or not either)

An actual issue I haven't seen reported in here:

The right arm clips with the new steam jump, but only in females that I've noticed. (I have no huge characters, so I can't speak for them).

I believe(And someone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) the new faces you found have the new face tech, and it's considered a "preview" for those who purchase the Steampunk pack, and later on(Either I20.5 or I21) will have the new face tech applied to the older faces/we'll be given new faces utilizing that tech.

Unless you can find a quote saying that, I'd say you misunderstood. What people are saying is that the MALE hair under the top hats isn't tintable. And it isn't. But it should be, once the fixes roll around.

---

I really have to commend that list again, by the way. If I'd sat down and written a list of all the things I wanted to be fixed with the Steampunk pack, we'd have an over 80% overlap, and considering people claim I'm unpleasable (even if they're wrong), that's pretty dang amazing. I love the detachable ascots, the tintable hair, the changes to the jackets, the HIGH-RESOLUTION FACES!!! and so on. I don't think there's a single item on that list that I'm "meh" about, let alone hate. Everything is pure gold... And it's not even a complete list!

As long as they cost 35 empyrian merits each and can only be used by level 50s.

I don't think we've gotten a time-frame. More so than anything, I thought it was testing the waters to see if it's worth the time investment to add normal maps to other faces.

The faces themselves had a fairly mixed reception in the feedback thread, so I dunno myself.

Well, David talked at length about updating older costume pieces to have higher-resolution textures, better meshes and more contemporary effects. Then David fell into a black hole and has only been able to get out one post per few months, so we don't know what became of that. Curse you, black holes!

They received a mixed reception because they're just BAD, and a lot of this comes from the fact that aside from normal mapping, the faces themselves are horrible. They're low-resolution, their textures are not very detailed and their normal maps aren't all that fine yet still have dense black shadows, leading to faces that look like head candles and are even more fake than older faces.

I hope that with a higher-resolution face texture and a more fine-grained normal map, these faces can look more impressive. It won't change the fact that the people depicted in them apparently fell off the top of the ugly tree and hit their faces on every branch on the way down, but we have plenty of ugly person faces in the editor since before, and those have their place, too. So long as the faces are technically sound, I can get over the aesthetic ugliness of them.

Many thanks for the swift service. The Steampunk Pack is by far my favorite booster, and it's great to know it's only going to get better. Many of these fixes are ones I specifically was hoping for, and I expect there will be more to come (and hopefully soon).

I love the new faces!
I think they are an improvement...
Cant wait to see them refinated with the upcoming fix patch.
Sad to see the red lipstick go.
I hate the mask and make up we got now, its too much... painted.

This is because of how jackets work. The actual sleeve is only part of the costume piece - the other part is the exposed arm. The existing short sleeves behave that way too. All jackets replace the entire arm from shoulder to elbow instead of layering over it like the Shirt and Robe sleeves, and there isn't a way for the game to detect what the pattern should be underneath. However, the upside is that it allows you to make costumes with two-colored tops and exposed skin on the arms, which is not otherwise possible.

Female monstrous hands do not have access to the new steam punk gloves.

I'm assumeing that its just an oversight but I'm calling it a bug.

Will be ascots be turned into Chest Details, or will there just be two variations of the same jacket? Because I want an ascot costume piece. Badly.
