WTF! Ok, i'm way to emotionally vested in this show.

SPOILERS --

SPOILERS -- She better be using this as a way to make the mystery big bad think she's dead to lure him into making a mistake. Castle is an idiot for waiting till he thinks she's dying to declare his love!...Alright, i'm ok, yes these are just characters in a show. move along, ignore the emotionally distraught old man.

Considering there's already supposed to be a fourth season on the way, I don't think there's much chance Beckett will actually be killed. But still... hell of a cliffhanger!!!

Ya, she's pretty much a MC. No way they could kill her off. Ryan? Espizito? Ya, those two could get offed, even though they are two of the best supporting actors on a show (and should get awarded as such). It took the thought of her dying to get Rick to finally man up and say it.

But ya, that was a helluva twist in there. Didn't think they'd have the stones to do what they did.

And I reiterate...Molly Quinn would be a most excellent Barbara Gordon...

I could see the thing with Capt. Montgomery coming from a mile away. They still played it out very nicely. The sense of betrayal amongst the detectives was very real and intense.

One hell of a cliffhanger to end the season on. How much do you think Castle's going to be kicking himself over not reacting fast enough when he kept seeing the flare from the shooter's scope? (btw, VERY sloppy sniper to allow that to happen)

It will be interesting to see what happens next. Will Beckett remember what Castle said? Or will they go on playing it off like it didn't happen? They've set themselves up nicely for next year. Well done.

Great season finale; one heck of a cliffhanger!

I'm with ObiWan -- too invested. It was a pretty big shock to the system at the end there.

I loved Ryan and Esposito's interaction after the bar scene. Very well done!

Nah, it'll turn out to have been Perlmutter masterminding it from behind the scenes all along.

It has been renewed for a 4th season, so doubtless the character shields will have protected her from death, though serious injuries are always a possibility.

I love this show. Right up there with Supernatural for continued awesome. When these 2 finally go off the air I'll be screwed for decent tv that doesn't require HBO or some other pay channel.

They ALL float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too!

Agreed. No way they take Kate out of the series.

Ryan and Esposito are solid in every episode, but they really brought it home last night with their reaction to the reveal about the Captain. Very well done.

And yes, Molly Quinn for Barbara Gordon (and oddly, Robin Sena, from Witch Hunter Robin).

Just a thought (as I don't know the casting news) but what if the funeral was a setup to lure out the mystery bad?

The captain got off the last shot, and the ending scene with him left room for him to still be alive and easily have us believe he died.

Possible but the family's reaction seemed pretty genuine to be faking it, and i just dont see him putting his family through that to have them not know.

I honestly didnt care for the cliff hanger. Not that the episode wasnt good, it was, and i enjoyed it alot, but i think if they wanted to cliff hang it the better spot would have been right when the merc showed up at montgomery's house. And then having the Capt call the girl to say to meet him at the hanger.

As everyone said they are not gonna kill her off, so really no cliff hanger to having her bleeding at the end of the show IMO. Now if you had dropped that bomb about the captian, had him fight about setting her up like they did, and then skipped that part where he mails the files and hides a 2 shooter, but show him call her to say to meet him that would leave a cliff hanger IMO.

Well, he might not want to put them through it, but they could be at risk still if they he was really alive.

But your right, you know she's not going to die. So the real cliffhanger is, did she hear Castle say I love you?

Yea but that's because he's not clued in that she is wearing a vest. Still a rifle round packs a lot more punch than most pistols so there's still a very good likelihood that she's fairly injured.

Unless of course that the shooter was someone "hired" by Beckett. Honestly, I sniper goes for a head shot to be sure, unlikely to be armored (next season Beckett comes back as X-23).

If TV has taught me one thing it's this: If you like someone, i mean really like someone tell them! Before they get shoot...or blowed up...or hit by a meteor.

The cap's death was spoiled by a lot of rumors that the actor wasn't remaining for the 4th season, but he got a really nicely written and acted send off by the entire cast.

They had already setup a perfectly fine exit for him last episode. He was retiring to spend more time with his wife. Ah well I guess they just wanted to kill him off.

Not so much wanting to kill him off (IMO), as it is the "classic" happenings of a cop in a tv show stating he's retiring and then getting killed with like a day to go.

Pretty sure I saw some blood on her gloves after she was shot. They won't kill her off, but she'll be comatose until the September season premiere. At the end of the second season Castle went off to his place in the Hampton's to finish his book and came back in the fall, so I think they'll maintain the 'real time' aspect.

You forgot the most important one of all. You reeeealy need to let them know before they get bitten by the zombie. The before part is key really. You can tell them afterwards, but you're just setting yourself up for failure at that point.
