Nice and Conga Rats.

I've grown up with In and Out, living near store number 2 for the first half of my life. Until about 6 months ago, I had to drive 10 miles to get to one and during traffic time that meant 40-50 minutes round trip.

I do like that the newest one that opened near me is number 247, I just wish they were open 24/7.

I always laugh when my east coast friends tell me how much they crave In-N-Out burgers after they return home following a visit to Cali.

Then I would go buy a Double-double animal style with fries, take pictures and put it on FB just to torment them further. Yes, I enjoy being evil.

Just makes me want to run to my local White Castle.

Maybe my palate isn't "refined" enough to appreciate In-N-Out. But I didn't find it all that special.

While I like the idea of In-N-Out, I have to consider the fact that the Frisco location is only about a block from Five Guys. Which is to say, it's practically across the street from a place that already has good burgers...and bacon. (Not to mention Cajun fries.)

I'll give it a fair chance, trying out a few variations, but it's going to need to impress me pretty quickly.

It's like Krispy Kreme. Some people don't think it's all that special (like me). Some people will line up around the block for it.

A Krispy Kreme opened up next to the In and Out that used to be the closest to me (about 10 miles away). Nobody lined up and the place closed down after about a year. Myself, I can't wrap my head around the idea of a donut shop that didn't sell devil's food donuts.

Living in PA, I don't know what I'm missing with In-N-Out, but there are two Five Guys within a mile of my house, so I'm content. Kinda wish they'd open a Red Robin around here though.

ETA: I never got the appeal of Krispy Kreme donuts either. Give me a nice, fresh Maple Donuts donut any day.

For the true burger aficonados out there: A Hamburger Today.

For StarGeek: Have you ever had a Krispy Kreme fresh and hot? As much as I like Chocolate, nothing is quite as addictive as a freshly iced piping hot Krispy Kreme donut (or a dozen).

Besides, what better combination of eateries could you have in order to get yourself a Luther Vandross?**

** - I actually have no intention of ever having a Luther Vanrdoss, but it is hilarious to me.

Yes, when said KK opened, I picked up a dozen and they gave me one right off the line while I was waiting. Good, but to me, no way addictive. It's still a plain frosted donut.

All this talk of food, I think I'm going to head over to In and Out and grab me some lunch .

Yeah, I'm not all that impressed with In-n-Out Burger either.

I wish we had a few more Sonic drive-ins though. I miss their Route 44 Lemonade Slushies.

Obviously your palate isn't refined. You eat at White Castle.

I admit to only having been to In-N-Out once, but I'm pretty sure they have bacon. (You just have to order off-the-menu.)

What's a devil's food donut? (Genuinely curious)

Basically just a chocolate donut. Not a white donut like Krispy Kreme's are.

Actually, I don't think they do. I've never tried ordering it like that because I don't think the different tastes go together.

There's even an article about it on BaconToday.com

More specifically a cake as opposed to yeast donut.

In and Out Burger is very good. Five Guys is better IMO, so is Culver's. Steak and Shake is about equal. We have three of the four in Chicago, so I have all the refined burger joints I need.

The City of Heroes Community is a special one and I will always look fondly on my times arguing, discussing and playing with you all. Thanks and thanks to the developers for a special experience.

Thanks, I knew there was more of a difference but wasn't sure what it was.

I've never tried Five Guys or Culver's (first I've heard of them), but unless the S&S in Indianapolis really sucks, it's no where near as good. In my opinion, of course. I eat there every year during GenCon.

Lowdown on this place for a Canadian?
Pictures make it look like a McDonald's-type area?

It's more or less a fast food place. I'm kind of a foodie so I've been around the block when it comes to just about every type of food. Honestly, the burgers and fries aren't all that special by themselves. It's really the "animal style" (secret recipe of chopped grilled onions, thousand island dressing and some other ingridients) making it unique. Once in a while I do get cravings and it is pretty good for what it is but like other fast food joint, it's not a place I can tolerate eating on a weekly basis.

Not even close. In-N-Out Burger is leaps and bounds better. It's fresh. Real fresh not that "Fresh 5 months ago before the freezer" some places advertise. Potatoes sliced and fried minutes before you ordered kind of fresh. And fast.

I live close to both Frisco and Allen. Wait time was about 2.5 hours at lunch time. Don't really understand the rush to get there TODAY - it's not like they're going away anytime soon. Several mon and pop burger joints serving fresh in this area (i.e. Square Burger in McKinney) that are probably just as good - if not better.

I've had Krispy Kreme before. I'm not impressed and I live just up the road from one. They're decent doughnuts but I'm not one of those people that has to have them. Hell, I'm not even really a big doughnut guy.

Or maybe I'm just averse to the whole "cult" mentality behind it.

As I live in Chicago, I have had both Culvers and Steak & Shake. The burgers aren't bad. They're not great either (a bit too greasy).

Now pizza or Italian Beef...

I'll have to give it a try next time I am in Frisco, which should be around October unless something changes. I haven't ate an an In-N-Out in forever.

Five Guys is good, but I really wish they would offer a couple of more options for sides.
