There is specifically a GG-inspired villain group I am in the earliest stages of forming, called "Gaslamp Villainy" on Virtue, if you're interested, and blueside we (Goblin Queen and I) have a more loosely-themed steampunk/"30's dime store novel" group.

Shout at me via global "Dr Occult" if interested!

One thing that wasn't explicitly mentioned in the dev chat last night about the "clunker" aura with its oil trail, the trail is part of a new "Path Aura." So the oil trail follows in your wake. Really cool stuff.

Agreed. I don't have any Steampunk characters but I do have several characters who could probably use some of the bits from the pack.

Actually, I'm curious to see what the pieces will look like once they're in the hands of folks who aren't that big into steampunk. It'll be interesting to see what these pieces look like once folks give them some colors other than 'brown(ish)'.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

Doubt any would be answered either. Wish they would just say that they wont do anything.

*tear of joy* as a long time Neo-Victorian/Steampunk enthusiast, this will do wonders for almost all of my characters..I can't wait. I haven't been this excited over steampunk-based graphics since I played Arcanum for the first time..

I think it'll get a lot of use for non Steampunkers. I have probably a handful of Victorian/Steam characters but I see a lot of these pieces being really useful for most of my other characters (one being a Mender). I see a lot of neat uses out of the clothing bits and armor pieces.

Amen! Extremely happy. I can see how some of your characters will get a big upgrade.

I am consistently amazed at ways I've seen players use costume parts that are "meant" to be one thing, but through player ingenuity are repurposed to fit with their own character concepts. I'm looking forward to seeing all the great steampunk and non-steampunk uses that players make with this booster!

But as an example of what it might look like, it's perfectly fine.

We're getting Armor Costume Options with the Steampunk Booster Pack too, right?

Ahah! I knew it!

Can someone from the art department comment on whether or not such trails can include particle effects? Could this tech, say for example, be fairly rapidly adapted to create blazing footprints in your wake that have flames with a vertical element to them? (Disclaimer: by fairly rapidly I mean is the tech in place now with only the artwork development needing to be done for these sorts of complex sprite and particle paths to be created?)

My mind is tickled.

Very true. I can't speak for anybody else, but I know for a fact that certain sets being ported would keep me from taking my now usual break between issues. For example making a ninja scrapper would give me something to do while I wait for more content for my 50s.

Now, if they could just get Phil and Kaja Foglio and Cheyenne Wright to do concept art for new costume pieces for it...

Hats! Having a nize hat is important. Remember, any plan vhere you loze your hat is a bad plan.

I have a corpse in a cryo-suit (ala Coffin) ment to look sort of like an angel that will definitely benefit from those new wings in blue and white... The existing tech wings just never looked correct with all the floating pieces and transparent pieces. And the rest of the wings are just to organic or to overbearing (aka Valk wings). I'm hoping that floating sigil aura might also work (in greens or blues probably) for tech sort of projections like the defence fields in Mass Effect (as fun as the ACCUHUD is by itself, I want the whole ACCUSuit).

My big concern is if the frequency of that gear aura can be tuned down. Having the occasional cog spin off is one thing but if its literally raining parts like implied in the one photo its usefullness is going to overwhelmed by silly.

In the UStream chat, they kinda hinted that there might be some more proliferation in I21.

I wasn't around for the in-game chats...
No one asked about Power Customization and when we might see the first passes at the Power Pools and/or Epic Pools (and/or Epic ATs)?
Shame on y'all!
C'mon!

There's that valuable versatility! Hehe
And I fully agree. I get plenty of usage out of the packs that aren't for characters based around the pack's concepts.
And the Steampunk pack pics show some victorian-style clothing and such that clearly could be used for many different concepts! Even just those striped pants (without the weird patterns on the current pinstrip pattern we have now).

Any chance there might be an option for just the oil trail without the cogs and bits part of the aura?
Seems too cool to not have separate options, just in case!

Great suggestion!

And hopefully fully tintable. I have one particularly sanguine character that would have a bloody good time with that path aura!

I wonder, with the Steampunk pack, if we'll finally see the Nemesis War Horse in-game....

Loose --> not tight.

One extra 'o' makes a big difference.

They could make the warhorse a non combat pet and not even add animations.

Also I can't wait to make a clockwork cat girl.

Could you imagine though if they made a villain costume parts theme pack and had that as the requisite travel power?
