Perfectly. You can't please everyone with any single decision, so which one(s) do you please?

De minimis non curat Lex Luthor.

I will be very interested to see anything that seems to be casual friendly.

The ones that will allow you to make the most profit.

Soloers are players.
Why somebody primarily or only plays solo instead of teaming isn't relevant in any way. The only important thing is how many of them are there?

If there is a significant amount then they should be a high priority.

If there is an insignificant amount then they should a low priority.

So? You don't have to succeed at every TF, they don't neccessarily take much more time than running solo missions, lots of people with kids play MMORPG's hardcore...

My point is that casual soloers is a subset of casual players, and cannot be used as equivalent to the superset. It's like saying "humans can't read". Yes, there are humans that can't read, but there are also humans who can.

Well I hope this raid lite direction this game is taking makes some money, since catering to the soloers since what I3, really seems to be paying off.

So you can casually enter a tough raid and get crushed? I really don't think that counts.

They mentioned the raids would be fairly short (30-45 minutes, IIRC) and with auto-qeueing that's pretty casual.

And while the rest of the forums is touted as some of the best in the industry...

This one thread has reminded me just what utter scumbags people can be when sat behind a monitor.
Well done. Very well done.

Uh huh. Well, if a casual PUG can handle those things with no problem, then as I said I'll be very interested to see that.

From what they've mentioned focus seems to be on coordination rather than having high DPS or capped resistances. That's going to be tough but require far less time (since you don't need to gather stuff for a build, just learn the mechanics of some fairly short encounters)

Everybody realizes that common and uncommon Alphas are still end-game rewards, right? It's not limited to Rare and Very Rare. A player who's gotten a common alpha has technically participated in the end-game system. They never said that everyone was going to be able to make all the abilities.

Issue 16 made me feel like this.

Was on the league that finished the BAF trial. It really is casual and just a matter of coordination, unlike the endgame raids I've seen in other games that require specific classes/builds and micromanging.

It's just fight some stuff, kill an AV on a timer, don't let 20 non attacking mobs escape for 5 minutes (this is currently the tricky part), kill another AV on a timer, then kill em both, roughly simultaneously.

All the objectives are clearly marked in a new "you cant miss it" window.

Every single incarnate thread since BS announced how notices would work has been really bad. I don't recall a time since I started playing that had this much vitirol and hate in posts. You'd think people were insulting their dead mothers.

Both sides have been bad and I'll admit I've contributed abit. I'm personally going to avoid all Incarnate threads until this debacle is over and I am advising anyone else to do the same.

Really. Not the best community for new players to see. Makes WoWs forums look pleasent.

You so weren't here for ED and the GDN then

Now that was vitriol!

I will humbly disagree till somehow a group of people manage to top raiding a in-game funeral for a player that passed away >.>

Hell even Eve Online forums look pleasent compared to WoW's... and they can be pretty harsh.

I called all those mistakes from many of those games, including both in our specific genre. I was in the beta for both, plus many more MMOs. I respectfully disagree the CoH end game is a mistake. I think its one of the better additions to the game since the Invention system. To be honest, although there are lots of things I have issues with in terms of the details of the end game and the Incarnate system, I think the devs overachieved in this case. Time will tell if the majority of the playerbase accepts and participates in it, but from a design perspective more things in the end game are designed well than the invention system before it. Its actually far better in terms of what it does and tries to do than I expected it to be.

Many of the implementation decisions are still questionable, some highly so, but that's peanuts compared to making foundational errors in design that can never be fixed or would be a massive undertaking to fix. They could still screw it up, but it won't be because the design forced them to.

And you know, allowing the competition to dictate your actions is just as dumb if you do what they do, as it is if you do the exact opposite of what they do. Sometimes your competition is right, sometimes they are wrong, and sometimes it doesn't matter at all. And often what is right for one game is not right for another, or is right but for completely different reasons. Doing the opposite just for the sake of doing the opposite is just as quick a path to failure as emulation.

How are any of these the devs/game's responsibility to address? It sucks if you have to drop things to take care of your kid or your computer can't run huge teams, I agree, but those aren't exactly things that they can do anything about on their end.

There was also the Hamidon enhancement thread, the loot and marketeering threads surrounding I9 (anyone remember the "Cornering the market for Freebird" thread? Kinda funny now), the name purge threads, the market purge threads, and of course the I13 PvP threads.

I have survived your predecessors, and I will survive you.

Sure they can. Make it a little less steep of an incline for soloers.

As I just posted, I can make about 1 million Influence an hour. So that's 100 hours to earn the money to buy one of these Notice dealies, whatever they are. I'm not 15 without a life outside school, I can't play 60 hours a week. Some weeks I'm lucky to get 3 hours. That level 50 character I just posted pictures of has 295 hours on patrol as of 1 minute ago.
