And until then we can count them as advertisements for city of heroes/villains/gr but not Advertisements for an, as of yet, Unconfirmed (though I recall Positron commenting on a thread more or less confirming the existence of a pack)animal pack. And advertisement for a pack explicitly mentions it so you know what's being advertised.

funny that, i got sent home in kindergarten, teacher id the around the room "what do you want to be when you grow up"? question. i was nonplussed with the standard three answers at that age, policeman, fireman, astronaut. so i went with werewolf, and was dead serious at the time....... my mom was quite pissed that they called her, not so much at me, but i do think she was worried.

liking werewolves is not a furry "thing". making a whole server full of cat girls is another thing altogether.

which ones were poorly recieved? while ther have been the standard complaints from people whos expectations are out of line with sanity or have very specific themes in mind and disliked that, for instance, the ninja run was so conceptually linked to the anime ninja run and would not fit a military or street level hero. the only ones that had significant resistance were the emote pack and the mutant pack, the latter because of a combination of an incomplete build being on test(it lacked tails) and a expectations based on quotes from both positron and david that when looked at objectively really never promised what some people expected.

additionally, the more=better is a doomed statement becasue there will always be more that could theoretically be added, so it sets itsself up to be disappointed. a one time exception that happened as anact of accommodation(which apparently has already thrown expectations out of whack and proven yet again that no good deed goes unpunished) is not a reasonable thing to hold against all future packs, furthermore, you yourself were critical of the wolf tail for being ugly in relation to the other mutant items, so while they Can add more, those that dont carry a thematic flow with the other items can still open them up to additional criticism. in other words, damned if you do, damned if you dont, and doubly damned if you work twice as hard.

But I didn't like dogs growing up. I liked cats. I grew up with them. and they can do natural Parkour stuff even though they sleep hour hours of the day.

you honestly dont see why excessively hyperbolic statements like this are stupid? there is no server "full" of catgirls, one server has a reputation for having several players with catgirls, it is not full by any reasonable means, and furthermore, the standard catgirl you see (outside of thsoe doing homage to the batman/spiderman characters) is more an anime thing than a furry thing, the nekomimi is generally a human looking girl with a cat tail, cat ears placed on the top of their heads and maybe fangs when smiling, thats it. its a stylized art thing but by no means what one would really consider "furry", its otaku. by definition werewolves are far more "furry" than that, since they are fully animalistic, rather than just wearing 2 cute accessories.

look, civilization is rife with uses of animals to exemplify specific virtues associated with them, sneaky people are "Snake-like, lions for bravery, wolves for fierceness, dogs for loyalty, dragons for power and majesty, et cetera, its not some silly subculture that a group of morons on the internet decided they would act excessively stupid about, its something indelliably woven into our cultural dna. Rather than making asinine assumptions of people's motivations based on a few idiots online, look at the full cultural backdrop of things, you will be better informed and less likely to make a fool of yourself.

Funnily enough, we were having this exact same discussion on one of our channels in-game.
Technically, 'Catigirls' as in the oft scantily clad women from anime and manga aren't, technically, anthromorphs. That is, a non-human object or entity given human characteristics, I.E. a wolf walking on it's hind legs, having hair and expressions like a human and being able to speak.

Catgirls, on the other hand, are already human. They look human with cat parts stuck on already. Technically, that'd make them zoomorphic characters, an entirely different subsect.
So...if you lump catgirls in with furrys, you'd also need to include werewolves (lycan/therianthropes), because they are two entirely seperate things from anthromophs.

Also, I agree saying 'a whole server of catgirls' is grossly over-exagerated, by whatever measure you are using.


P.S. Yes, I realise I just went all technical and nerdy about all that. Whatcha gonna do? Sue me?

I haven't seen any advertising myself, outside of the player-base teasers. All the pictures I saw were hosted at the PlayNC store.
