Sweet! /gratz!

As an aside, how did you get that status box between your target box and compass that shows your various bonuses and def/resists?

Just go to powers>combat attributes and right click the stat you want monitored.

And grats!

Dude that is seriously impressive! How did you manage it? I know Mind/* can sleep the AVs but how did you put out enough damage to kill each one, while also remaining alive in the 1:1 fights??

Can you share your build?

The common way for a mind to solo the RSF is to perma-confuse an AV to kill all others and just kill the remaining one (which is what the OP seemingly did, judging by his chat log). That leaves you with one +2 (with the level shift) AV to defeat, which is cake for a mind dom.

Yeah, I did exactly that, but it couldn't have been done without a level shift. The level shift allowed the confuse duration to last longer so I could get off more attacks in between applications. Still it probably took about a half an hour to defeat Numina using Confuse > Blaze > Incinerate.

So, it actually is a combat level shift and not just some manipulation of the to-hit and damage tables or somesuch?

Posted

Well it is a manipulation of the level modifiers or whatever you call it. The level shift just uses the values of -1 level of the target you're facing and that allows you to do more damage, have a higher tohit chance and control durations last longer. A combination of increased damage and controls is what let me complete this. I've soloed a LRSF without a level shift before, but had to use temp powers in order to put out the necessary DPS while keeping Numina permaconfused.

Wow, so you just confuse 1 AV constantly in all the groups with AVs until they kill all the others? And then you just keep them confused while you attack them until they die? That must take a long time.

I'm still surprised that their regen doesn't outpace your damage of Blaze>Incinerate. And how does Valkyrie's REZ mess with things?

Impressive work.

Nice work. I am curious if the -regen in Psionic Assault and the 2 big hitters for psi (haha) would compare with NO -regen but the fire attacks.

It involves a little more than just confusing an AV at random, there's a simple easy trick to get a confused target to concentrate on one target to take down. Valkyrie's rez/MoG isn't a problem, just have to kill her twice. I confused Mynx to take down the rest of the Vindicators.

You could probably pull it off with psi assault. The biggest problem you'd probably have is taking down Kronos since you'll just be dealing all psi damage.

Major congrats Fiery! After seeing your first solo run I was convinced to make a Mind/Fire myself. I've had fun with Pylons and AVs, and now I'm tempted to try a TF or two myself. Kudos on a major accomplishment that even full teams still sometimes have trouble with.

Impressive!

Big congrats!

That is a pretty impressive way to trick the system.

You must have some pretty ingenious strategy to pull this off, since it doesn't seem as simple as "confuse Numina and have her kill all the AVs". She alone doesn't have enough DPS to kill another AV, and confused targets rarely stay focused on a single target, prefering to wander off and look for more targets to spread damage to.

The trick is how aggro works with confused targets. A confused target will focus attack on anything that does damage to it, for this reason I didn't use Mass Confusion. Instead, I just confused the AV that was going to do the killing (Numina and Mynx). Once they're confused they'll be attacking all of the AVs nearby, so you just need to also confuse the AV that you wish to get killed. They'll attack whoever has done damage to them and once they do, they become the focused target.

And yes, Numina does have enough DPS, she killed the entire Freedom Phalanx alone.

Keeping 2 +2 AVs perma-confused is pretty impressive, you're a beast.

No, I only kept one AV perma confused. The other AV I confuse while the purple triangles are down so they can land at least one attack.
