    Cool, didn't know that. Thanks for that. I also noticed Acrobatics only gives mag 2 hold protection which is no good.

    Damn I've screwed up. I respeced last night and slotted nightmare into spectral terror. I was certain that the 4 slots gave me 5% recharge.. and not accuracy... I ditched the range increase in frost breath for the unspeakable terror set instead. The toon is so far lvl 47 so I think there's only 5 slots in frost breath still which means I don't have to do another respec, I only wasted the money on the nightmare set which was not that much. Thanks for the headsup!

    I had already considered frost breath over ice storm for just the spectral terror reason. I just reached 44 and decided I'd try frost breath before I decide and it seems fine (never really liked the breath powers a lot). As of acrobatics I mainly felt i'd be nice to have for the hold protection, but if you think it's not nessecary I can take your word for it.

    But I'll def. take a slot out of hasten, I only lose 4 seconds which is nothing when it's already perma.

    In the build below I've left acrobatics but I can just easily switch it out for recall friend if you believe the hold protection is not needed at all. I've also added a range IO to frost breath and I think that's one of the aspects of it I don't like.

    I'll leave my last slot free until I get further comments. Thanks a lot!

    I can't decide whether I should squish in an aoe (Ice Storm in this case) or not... hmmm
  7. When I saw your slotting of Healing Flames and Lunge I decided to not even open the build. For PPP/APP I'd go with body or something similar. Fire Epic, for fire ball and such is not really needed for a /fire because of burn, spine burst and the auras is enough aoe really. This is the build I go with and I softcap S/L with one luck. This is enough and he functions really well.

    Switching the set in Impale and the set in Throw Spines to apocalypse/ragnarok works well if you're rich. I went for the cardiac alpha boost for endurance and resistance. If your'e going that way you can easily pull slots out of consume if you want to.

  9. I was gonna say Ice Mastery is the way to go because of Sleet. It'll help you a lot. One way could be Soul Mastery with Soul Drain. I had Mu Mastery on a domi pre-I19 and it doesn't really add anything siginifact for your purpose imo. The Mu Guardian isn't very reliable as a healer imo.
  10. First to answer your questions:

    I currently have jolting chain in my build, though only with 1 acc in it. I don't use it a lot, as it's not good enough to spam all the time (seeing it's constantly recharged). It is still useful solo though and for special occasions.

    If I had the slots I'd proc it out. The good thing about is that it has a chance to proc on each hit. I think it's specially good for things like heal proc, hold proc and STUN proc.

    Gremlins:
    I have the gremlins and I feel them do as much as any other control pet. They die fairly easy but can help with the dps. In teams they are not as useful for me, but I definitely do not regret having them. When I occasionly play solo they are very useful to take alphas and whatnot.

    I have an Elec/Psi/Fire Dom at 49 currently. Fully IO-slotted and only missing the purple sleep and confuse sets from the build. When finished he'll have perma-hasten and he's tremendously fun to play.

    Som motivations on power picks:

    I use Subdue, Psi Dart and Mind probe as my ST- attacks. Subdue and Mental blast for domis are the exact same in values. The only difference is that mental blast does -recharge on the target whilst Subdue adds MAG 3 immobilize. I felt subdue > mental blast in order to stack immobilize on AV's and because I've played a fortunata a lot where Mental Blast is really bad and Subdue really good.

    Psi Dart... well I need to take it, nothing special with the power really.

    Mind Probe - really great melee attack. I skipped Telekinetic thrust because of its activation time and the fact that I don't really need anymore attacks with my recharge rates. Psy scream was skipped for the same reason and also because I just don't like it.

    Some people would argue with that I picked the /fire epic, because it ruins Static Field. The thing is, in teams, adding Rain of Fire and Fire Ball do your AoE carnage, together with Psy Shockwave is just plain awesome. Your AoE damage output is crazy good. In teams, except for on some AV fights or specific pulls I never use Static Field. There is just no time. (VERY useful solo though and as a set mule so do not drop it! )

    Well, I really like the toon and it was a fun ride to play it. Here is my build for perma-hasten, perma domi and close to perma DP.

  12. I definately would advice you not to make a stalker. Other than that, whichever you mighy prefer is alright. My vote goes foe scrappaer though.
    Motivation: i myself have a lvl 50 db/nin stalker and even though he was great fun when leveling and even afterwards I in a way regret him. The two useful combos imo are sweep and vitals. For a stalker the vitals combo is ST (understandable), for the rest they are both aoe-based. In order to obtain both those combos as a stalker you need to pick up ALL powers in the set; which to me is unacceptable. on my stalker I skipped the best ST attack (ablaiting) and the sweep combo. For the other ATs you can skip the first of the ST attacks (nimble) and still obtain both sweep and vitals (which in this case is an aoe). If you want a tanker ,that's fine and if you are choosing between brute and scrapper then the rumors say that scrappers put out higher damage (I'm sure numbers can confirm). I myself am making a db/inv scrapper.

  14. Hey, I've been reading the forums a lot and after having a db/nin stalker for a long time I enjoy I decided I want a db scrapper when I can actually use the combos properly.

    The toon is still low level but he'll def. be my next project. I'm quite happy with the build I got but I am sure you can add some improvements to it.

    I currently got S/L def softcap with 1 foe nearby and reaching softcap for E/N would be really nice, I am perfectly willing to sacrifice F/C defense for it. The problem I see now is how I'll get the slots for it.

    I really dislike picking kinetic combat, not only because it's expensive and hard to get a hold on but also because the set it self sucks being only lvl 35. Despite this I have three of them slotted and I'd prefer not having more.

    I'm not sure what I will use the toon for, but some kind of PvE madness for sure.

    I'd prefer to leave PvP Io's and the expensivoe purple sets out of this (an occasional proc or enhancement is fine).

  15. This is a build for my Ice/Fire tank. It's made with the I18 version but I left out stamina and saved 3 slots for I19. I softcapped S/L/E and hit the new tanker hp cap (3535 or something like that), even though mids is showing the old one, with the hero accolades. Anyone got any improvements? Thanks!

  16. I'm as well planning on rolling a Fire/Cold when I19 hits and this is the build I've come up with:

    -Softcap to S/L/E
    -66,7% global recharge + hasten
    - I didn't care for the HP cap as some of you have.
    I left out fitness for I19 but left 3 slots for it... will also put a miracle in health.

  17. Hey, I'm thinking of rolling a Fire/BA, but as I see it there are too many /BA attacks that are too good. So, which are skipables for a tanker? I'm thinking chop and possibly swoop if I need to skip another.

    Traps Cons:
    * Concealment pool will be important to pull off some of your tricks.
    * Low regen from Triage Beacon, Aid Self will probably be important too.
    * Some powers are unusable or annoying to use while Hovering, making hovertanking of somewhat less use.
    * Many PuGs won't want you or won't consider you as taking up a vital team role. This is a problem for all non-Empathy defenders. These PuGs are clueless, of course, but it still means you'll have to be comfortable soloing a lot.

    Empathy Pros:
    * Huge regen from Regeneration Aura, and you're not tethered to any spot.
    * Can skip Stamina thanks to Recovery Aura.
    * Can skip Aid Self thanks to Healing Aura.
    * All powers work fine while hovertanking.
    * Only three primary powers (the auras) help you directly; the rest you can skip to make room for Provoke, defense toggles, etc.
    * Can add the usual team support powers back in, in your second build, for Empath duoing. Which breaks the game and gives Castle cold sweats, by the way.

    Empathy Cons:
    * Zilch for debuffs and crowd control, so you might need a high-utility secondary, like /Sonic.
    * Regeneration Aura isn't always on. Not even at the recharge cap.
    * Break Free intensive. Health, Acrobatics and CJ will help, to a point.
    * Recharge speed bonus intensive. The IOs you'll want for recharge bonuses will be expensive.
    * No damage whatsoever in the primary. Veteran Reward powers, invention temp powers will help.

    Short version: If you're relatively new to the game, go Traps/Archery (or your favorite AoE DPS secondary). If you've been around long enough to have access to LotGs and vet powers, go Empathy/Sonic (or your favorite utility secondary). If you team regularly with an experienced Empath, also go Empathy/* (to abuse Empathy duo dynamics).
    After reading your post the whole "empathy tankermind" thing made me curious. Even though it would never come to my mind to make this kind of character, is this something you had in mind?

  20. Here are my thoughts:

    Soul Drain: If you're gonna 6-slot it I'd suggest slotting for damage, if not then acc/rech is good enough to save slots. You don't need the defense Gaussian adds.

    The regen you've put in there is not enough to be worth it. So skip the slots in health, put a miracle in there. I don't think you'll need body mastery either and with the poor slotting in there it's not doing a lot. I'd rather pick up Hasten (you want shield charge and SD up more often) and Grant Cover for DDR. If you want more endurance reduction just re-slot your toggles with Gift of the Ancients.

    Your slotting in tough is a waste, you don't need those set bonuses.

  22. I know you've already created your domi but basically it's:

    Plant/Fire - stay at ranged, lock stuff down and kill stuff safely.

    Fire/Psi - melee/pbaoe crazy madness.

    Fire/Psi is the combo I'd prefer even though I am wanting to create a long-range domi sometime soon (plant/fire or mind/fire I think).

    I personally have a ice/earth which works just like the fire/psi would. One combo I'm also considering is fire/thorns.

    I'm sure you'd have fun with all combos as long as you're determined whether you want it at range and safe or right in the middle of the mob and crazy fun.

  24. Just for a notice here is my final build. I'm still missing one of the membranes, 3 LotG's +rech, the LotG +Def and the Lotg +def/end, other than that it's finished. I feel my aoe attack chain, despite that you said it won't be good enough is good enough, even though it's still a gap in it, which I know will be fixed once I get my perma-hasten.
