Hey,

I'm sure there are some quite ill/rad builds but I'm getting desperate for getting comments on mine as I'm closing in on the high levels now with the DXP-weekend and all. I'm after the perma-pa, obviously. Still not entirely sure on going the leadership-route and some slotting.

You made a few choices differently than I would have, but those choices weren't wrong . . .

Hasten is well past perma with just 2 slots with level 50 Recharge, so you could move that last slot somewhere. There are a lot of options for that extra slot -- put a -Knockback in your Armor so that you can trade out Acrobatics for Recall Friend, for example. Or slot a Numina's Heal in Health. Or add a Achilles Heal -Resistance proc to RI.

You could also put a Zephyr -Knockback in Super Jump or even CJ to get rid of Acrobatics.

As for AoE damage -- I like to have some. My Ill/Rad uses Fireball a lot. My Ill/Cold uses Frostbreath, not Ice Storm. Frostbreath recharges far more quickly and since Illusion does not have an Immob, foes can run out of Ice Storm. Plus the DoT interferes with Spectral Terror and the slower damage rate allows Illusory Damage more time to heal back.

Actually I have Ice Storm on my build, (ill/rad) I hit the mob with Spectral Terror and then Lingering Radiation, to slow their efforts to flee and then hit them with Ice Storm, it takes away half their HP for lvl 50 minions and hits others hard as well. Most of the time, PA haven't been summoned nor Phantazm.

Although it is a bit ... well ... really squishy but if played right (which isn't hard to do) they always fail to see me. Ice Armor was dropped for Ice Storm. My feel is that if the enemies are gone as soon as possible, my chances are better for a healthier HP bar. More damage FTW!!!

I had already considered frost breath over ice storm for just the spectral terror reason. I just reached 44 and decided I'd try frost breath before I decide and it seems fine (never really liked the breath powers a lot). As of acrobatics I mainly felt i'd be nice to have for the hold protection, but if you think it's not nessecary I can take your word for it.

But I'll def. take a slot out of hasten, I only lose 4 seconds which is nothing when it's already perma.

In the build below I've left acrobatics but I can just easily switch it out for recall friend if you believe the hold protection is not needed at all. I've also added a range IO to frost breath and I think that's one of the aspects of it I don't like.

If you can get one more slot into Spooky, you can slot 5 Unspeakable Terror for an extra 5% Recharge.

Personally, I'm not sure that Kismet proc is doing much good, and I'm not sure I would devote a slot to it. You already have pretty good global Accuracy bonuses with Coercive, Posi-blast and other sets.

As for Holds . . . I rarely get held on my Ill/Rad. PA draw the aggro, and any time a foe looks past PA to me, I use Deceive to convince him "I'm not the foe you're looking for." On team, I let the Tank do his job and draw the aggro. Solo and small teams, PA draw the aggro. And I stay back far enough to stay out of range of most AoEs.

Leveling up, I had Recall Friend on my Ill/Rad. Then I dropped it for my perma-PA build . . . but missed having it. With I-19, I have added it back into my build again, which I really like. Obviously, if you spend a lot of time solo, there is no need. I tend to team with the same group of guys, and it is appreciated when I have Recall Friend to stealth missions.

Damn I've screwed up. I respeced last night and slotted nightmare into spectral terror. I was certain that the 4 slots gave me 5% recharge.. and not accuracy... I ditched the range increase in frost breath for the unspeakable terror set instead. The toon is so far lvl 47 so I think there's only 5 slots in frost breath still which means I don't have to do another respec, I only wasted the money on the nightmare set which was not that much. Thanks for the headsup!

Just an extra bit of information about not taking Acrobatics;

Accelerate Metabolism: Activating this power emits radiation that increases the running speed, attack speed, Endurance recovery, and damage potential of all nearby allies. Affected allies' metabolisms are increased so much that they become resistant to effects such as Sleep, Hold, Disorient, Immobilization and Endurance Drain.

As the description of it says it adds resistance to controlling effects, quite a significant amount of resistance IMO. On the occasions Amphithea (my /Rad controller) gets hit with a hold they wear off pretty quickly. Use AM then check your combat attributes window for more information. That is why I do not have Acrobatics on Amph. Hopefully that helps =)

One casting of AM has a noticable effect by shortening the duration of mez effects. But when you have a team of */Rad Controllers or other folks with AM all stacked, Mez powers only last a second or two . . . just long enough to turn off your toggles. Ask any full team of Fire/Rads.

Ever since -Knockback IOs become available, I have found it hard to justify spending a power pick and the endurance cost for Acrobatics.
