Spines/Fire Help Needed
Short answer: no.
Long answer: blazing aura and quills are a big portion of spines/fire's damage. Healing flames keeps you alive. Both ba and quills are endurance hogs. Temperature protection is a waste of slots. Cut it to one and give them to ba and hf. That's a good start to fixing it but I know its not a build I would choose to play.

When I saw your slotting of Healing Flames and Lunge I decided to not even open the build. For PPP/APP I'd go with body or something similar. Fire Epic, for fire ball and such is not really needed for a /fire because of burn, spine burst and the auras is enough aoe really. This is the build I go with and I softcap S/L with one luck. This is enough and he functions really well.
Switching the set in Impale and the set in Throw Spines to apocalypse/ragnarok works well if you're rich. I went for the cardiac alpha boost for endurance and resistance. If your'e going that way you can easily pull slots out of consume if you want to.

I don't like being protected against only one category of damage. I went for 32.5% defense to all positions on my Spines/Fire Scrapper. Having only melee defense seems like it wouldn't work very well because every enemy has at least one ranged attack and many enemies don't use melee attacks. If you want minimal defense that covers the most incoming damage, go for 32.5% S/L and E/N. It isn't practical to try to reach the soft cap without inspirations on characters that don't have defense in their primary or secondary sets.
Hey alll....wanted my new project for the Double XP weekend to be a Spines/Fire Scrapper but so far i cant seem to get him just right...I never have messed with Spines much so anyone that has done this, how much dmg output is working on this, what PPP or APP would you recommend and how much Defense do you need to be survivable.. i messed with mids alot and seem to be stuck. i have a few ideas one would be for S/L Defense and can only get it to 37% each with 47.5% recharge....without Hasten being on..... now with this build i went just for Melee Defense and got it close to soft cap with more Defense, but not sure if this would even work out... so here it is....please feel free to tear it apart..i am just looking to put mobs down fast and surivive... Thanks
