Thanks. Yeah, looks like I misread the number of merits. Oh well, nothing to see here; move along...
-
Where can I buy Archetype Enhancements? The wiki says merit vendors, but I've checked there (reward and astral merit both). I have the merits and inf required, but yet they're not in the list. Anyone know why? Or if I'm missing something?
-
Update: even the /macro command doesn't work if the resulting button would end up on anything but the first tray!
-
Yes, /macroslot is a bit different in that it can create a macro directly in the spot you want so you don't have to drag it around afterward. For example /macroslot 51 Name "function" will put the macro in the first slot on tray 6.
(Don't hold me to the exact numbers and the slot it's put into though; I'm just going from memory, and Paragon Wiki is no help.) -
I tried using /macroslot last night and I couldn't get it to work with numbers larger than 9 or 10. It seemed to work fine with numbers below that however.
Anyone else notice? Or am I the only one who uses that command? -
FTP player here, but have up to tier 7 Paragon Rewards.
On all the characters I've tried so far, from level 37 to 50, when I cast an Ouroborus Portal I can't use it. No name appears above the portal as it used to either. I've tried other people's portals too and still nothing happens when I try to use one.
Is this something related to being a FTP player? Or is it a bug of some sort? -
Quote:Thanks LM. If underslotted hold on CC is its biggest problem, I can work on that a bit. Should be easily fixed by changing the Unbreakable Constraint proc to a Hold/End instead; that caps it to both hold and end. I might have picked the UC proc in error anyway. The biggest problem I see is Choking Cloud underslotted. It needs capped Hold and a lot of EndRdx BEFORE procs -- add procs only after Hold is capped. Leveling up, I use Frankenslotting to cap Hold and EndRdx and then added the Lockdown proc when I could. At level 50, my current build has End/Hold, Hold, Acc/Hold/Rech and Chance for Smashing from Unbreakable Constraint, Lockdown +2 Mag proc and a common EndRdx. That gives me capped hold and Seventy-something percent EndRdx, which is enough if you have a fair amount of Recovery.
It would be nice if you could find a 6th slot for AM to get the 5% global recharge.
I think my slotting for Fire Cages is 5 Grav Anchor and a Pos-blast proc.
Yeah, I think I'll pull that 6th slot for AM out of Char. While it would be nice to keep it there AM could probably use it more.
Once I get more inf I'll look at a purp set in Fire Cages. Thx.
-
Well, I think Local_Man convinced me (here, and from reading other threads as well) to go with Psi. I was a bit concerned IW would not be up enough, what with a duration of 1.5 minutes and recharge of 6 minutes, but with the recharge that can be put in the power along with global recharge (+Hasten, etc.) it looks like it'll be up most of the time, with only about 12 seconds or so downtime.
Please take a look at the build now and let me know what you think. I do like to have Recall Friend if I can, and I practically never use EM Pulse because of the End suppression, so I removed it to be able to keep RF.
I'd like to be able to stick one more slot into AM for the 5% recharge bonus, but what power to pull a slot from? My thoughts are either Char or Stamina; leaning more toward Char (those Hami O's are expensive!). Oh and I probably ought to find room somewhere for the Numina Rec+/Reg+, Health most likely.

Thanks for the feedback. I will take all the above (and below if others comment) into consideration over the next day or two and rework it. I knew there were things that could be done to improve it, and I was right.
I originally had Earth instead of Ice. The shield is slightly better and the attacks were more fitting, it seemed, for a Fire/Rad. I switched to Ice for the ranged attack and the superficial reason that the Earth Shield is ugly. If I go back to Earth, which I may do, I could easily then drop AirSup since I'd already have one if not two other melee or short range attacks to replace it. But what power would I benefit from I could add in its place?
Then again, like Local_Main keeps trumpeting, Psi for IW is sure tempting as well. I was hoping a more def based build would prevent those toggles from dropping too, and certainly he has much more experience than I with this AT to know if the tradeoff between a def based shield and a res based one is worth it.
I know what you mean about the Ice Blast slotting. I didn't really like what I put there either.
Anyway, thanks again all. I'll let you know what I come up with. Then you can rip that one up too. j/k -
Here's my current Fire/Rad. Please tell me where you think I can improve on this. Other than I have to have Fly for concept, about everything else is negotiable. I was going mostly for S/L Defense with whatever recharge I could sneak in there. I don't have billions to spend, but I'm not a pauper either.

Last night Obsidian Fox, an Earth/Fire/Fire Dominator Hero, hit 50. She is perhaps my 9th or 10th toon to reach that milestone, but my first Dominator. Most others have been Tankers, Brutes, Masterminds, or Controllers.
She immediately unlocked her Alpha Slot to get her first shard, and did a bit more marketing to finally get to permadom level recharge, so things are looking up for Obsidian Fox. -
Quote:Sure. Just use the BINDSAVEFILE command. For example, log in as the character whose binds you want to know and issue this command from the chat window:Okay, I am VERY sorry if this has been mentioned before...
But, my Search-Fu is weak and I have been gleaning over MANY posts to find my answer, to no avail...
Is there a way to see the binds and macros used for a specific character?
Code:/bindsavefile c:\binds.txt
HTH -
Great, thanks. So I need at least another set of Decimation or Positron's Blast then. I'm on it...
-
I'm still a bit confused by all this. Sorry, math is not my strong suit.
So, for permadom I would need ~125% global recharge. That's without Hasten.
So, now, I have Hasten (right now 2 slotted w/lvl 50 IOs). Given that, what global recharge do I need to have permadom? Right now I have 62.5%, but apparently that's not enough. How much more do I need? -
-
While I have over 20 characters on my main server, and at least a few on all the others, I'm pretty much down to two mains. That may change later as I level up some of the others, but for now my two mains are a Ill/Rad controller and a Stone/WP brute. They play completely different, but I love playing both of them. They both have their 3rd tier Alpha (working on 4th tier), and I can't decide which I like more so play them both about equally.
My first 50 was a Bots/FF MM. 2nd a SS/Inv tanker, then a SS/WP tanker, and I forget after that. But for some reason these two have clicked for me, and I think I'm enjoying CoH as much now as I ever have.
Oh, I'm still leveling up several others as well, a Fire/Rad controller, an Earth/Fire Dominator, and a BS/SD brute among others, but before long I'm back with my mains, running another TF or MS raid or something. Good times. -
So, it actually is a combat level shift and not just some manipulation of the to-hit and damage tables or somesuch?
-
I've leveled Bots/FF to 50 and found I needed the Medicine Pool to keep my bots healed. How are you managing to keep your bots healed with just Repair?
-
Are you saying you only had a damage boost if you had permadom? Or do you mean "while domination was up"? Is this a case of throwing the term "permadom" around too much, perhaps?
-
Quote:Oh, you mean like City of Heroes did before its launch? As a side note about that other (already existing) game: I detected a strong scent of DOOOOOOM about it when it offered a lifetime subscription that was only available if purchased before launch. That sort of deal is a sure sign that a company doesn't expect to get much money from you unless they get it up front.
-
I upgraded to the latest ATI Graphics drivers last night (dated 12/13/2010), and ever since I've noticed a strange graphical glitch with names of players, NPCs, basically anything with a floating name.
Here's what it looks like:
This is with Windows 7 64bit and an ATI Radeon 4670 card. The text doesn't always look like that, but it does happen a lot. -
FYI, I wasn't serious. I know it doesn't matter (five year vet here). When you said "third slot" though, that's what came to mind. Bit'o the old humor there, at least I thought. Maybe it was just me...
-
Is that the third slot from the left or the right?

So, question: can you put more than one popmenu in a single .mnu file?
The syntax would seem to indicate you could combine many different popmenus into a single file, but in reality it may not work that way.
