Where is PC located Geographically?

As someone who has lived in 16 states, and three different countries (and been exposed to many more through movies and television), I can say there's not a part of Paragon, The Rogue Isles, or Praetoria that doesn't remind me of somewhere I've lived or seen.

No. The more urban areas of Talos feel like Downtown Seattle; you're surrounded by buildings but can see the ocean if you look down main street.

As far as Milwaukee, look up some images. Again, it may be just me but that's how I feel!

I could also liken Steel Canyon to Houston but... the projects in Steel aren't as scary.

And we get so very little snow in Paragon.

You have numerous hundreds (or possibly thousands) of superhumans with the ability to control the weather.

At least SOME of them might hate snow.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

I grew up near Milwaukee, and I never got this feel from Steel Canyon. Steel Canyon seems in much better shape and just, well, bigger (height and area), than Milwaukee has ever been during my lifetime.

Nova Praetoria really reminds me of Washington, D.C., though, particularly the area around Pennsylvania Avenue between the Capitol and 14th Street or so. Government town, I guess...

The Imperial City strongly reminds me of California, especially San Diego.

Some of the less beat-up parts of the Rogue Isles remind me of New Orleans.

But, as someone's already said, there's probably a City of Heroes analogue to pretty much everyplace somewhere, if you look hard enough.

Not that Providence is all that bad, but the mutants, Ghost ships, giant monsters, alien invasions and zombie outbreaks would be a small price to pay for no snow, potholes or traffic.
he he, glad to see I'm not the only RI resident who plays this game.

I agree with this. Took a recent trip there, and I was like "Woah, totally reminds me of Praetoria."

And Kings Row reminds me of Baltimore and my home city Detroit.

Here's a shot of Austin- the bridge designs and city layout remind me of Founders Falls.

Wow, Rhode Island's coastline points almost due south ... In order for it to have the shoreline necessary for Paragon City, it would need to steal and occupy that eastward-protruding part of Massachusetts.

Is there anything in the lore about the Rhode Island/Massachusetts War?

I remember once postulating that you could replace Cohasset Harbor with Paragon City. That's in Massachusetts though, so I guess Rhode Island on Primal Earth is a little different than from our world.

Plus, you know... "Cohasset"... get it?

... Unfortunately, those parts are Kings' Row and Crey's Folly.

If memory serves, MA was originally two separate colonies, one centered around Mass Bay, and the other around Plymouth( which is that SE portion of the state), on Primal Earth it’s possible Plymouth was joined with RI instead of Mass Bay.
Another possible explanation is that the ancient war between Orenbega (sp) and the Mu may have altered the coastline a bit.
As to why they chose RI, my guess it’s a reference to Happy Harbor, RI the fictional town where the original Justice League HQ was, and yes it is sad I actually know this.

Jack is a big Lovecraft fan - which can be seen in the art direction of CO - so he might have wanted to have the game set in "Lovecraft Country".

Bingo.

I love that you guys know so much about the lore. Even if it's lore I had nothing to do with!

We're Just trying to find the ultimate lore plothole that would be so massive that it'd cause emergency server downtime to fix it

That's not the "Ocean," that's the Puget Sound.

There were obviously Time Lords involved in the construction of Paragon City. I mean, have you seen the Terra Volta Reactor area? There is more space around the reactor than could possibly be contained by the force field surrounding it. When we apply this knowledge to the rest of the city, Paragon might only be one cubic foot in size, once you leave.

Of course, the Etoile Island Chain is down near Bermuda. Volcanic activity in the Rogue Isles would more likely affect Florida, Georgia, or the Carolinas, with long-ranging effects possibly reaching Cuba and Central America as well.

On the video screen inside the Vanguard Base there are photos that have various Lat/Long coordinates. For example, the screenshot of the Mothership has coordinates 41 33 20 n 71 29 39 w. Cut and paste that in Google Maps and you get an idea of where at least one dev thinks Paragon City is located.

while the real RI is the smallest state, maybe some perspective here, RI is Providence + Providence Metro area to a huge extent. In terms of metro area's its not in the same league as maybe NYC, LA, Atlanta, or Chicago in size, its about the same as any other medium sized metro area. Also some of the metro area does stretch into MA( ie Attleboro). So I can see, how the in game PC could fit in the state, more so if you assume Plymouth Colony was combined with RI instead of Mass Bay Colony.

The one thing I have always thought would be great is if we had an Issue called World Tour, where two maybe three new zones are introduced( PC International Airport, RI International Airport, and maybe a Preatorian Imperial Airport), where your sent on missions across the Globe( with a lot of new mission maps), and get a get an idea how the rest of Primal Earth( and maybe Preatorian Earth) are different from our own. For example, on Primal Earth, maybe there was no Restoration, and Britian is still a republic, or the US had taken Canada during the War of 1812.

Cool idea with Primal Earth.

Not so great idea for Praetorian Earth. I mean, anywhere you go will be like zoning into the Abyss.

I always loved how deep the old-school backstory was.

Awesome idea!

In some way or another, I'd like to see more of Primal Earth. Dimension hopping is fine and exciting, but what else is out there in Primal Earth's dimension? What's the west coast like? What's Paris like, or Ireland? What's New York City like on Primal Earth? How about the Antarctic, the Sahara, or the Amazon?

I read the stuff on the official website when I first started playing, and recently found a bunch of lore on the Paragon Wiki that used to be on the official website. Check out that link. The Paragon Times section has a bunch of official in-universe news articles.
