Have you ever deleted any 50's?
I have never deleted any 50's. The closest I've come is to remove all the enhancements from a fire/kin 50 and then unsubscribed my second account. He's still there, in theory, but not in any form that would be enjoyable to play.
Uber Talgrim - level 50 emp/dark defender
Uber Rod - level 50 dark melee/regen scrapper
Rod Valdr - level 50 invuln/SS tanker
Talgrim - level 50 ninja/dark mastermind
OMG!! Please add these costume designs now!
Tanker, level 50, Invul/Energy. Had wasted so many respecs on him and time and such, and then EM got nerfed. So I re-rolled him as Invul/Elec and have enjoyed him so much more. I can't wait to get the last 20 levels and get him alpha slotted to be back to his old, bad*ss self.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

I haven't deleted any, but I have three that have been transferred to a server I do not play on and stripped of all enhancements and inf... One made 50 just so she'd be the first 50 in the SG she founded. Second made 50 because a DXP weekend got her so close, it seemed a waste. Third made 50 because I kept getting team requests for Rad Emission, but I really can't stand playing it.
Siberian Spring-50 (Cold/Rad, Rad/Ice, Ice/Rad, Sh/Ice) - KGB SS8
Chernozem-50 (Ice/MM, Emp/Ice, MA/Regen) - KGB SS8
Wila-50 (Dark/Arch) - KGB SS8
Also: Krassivy Mechtayu-50 (Ill/Rad) - KGB SS8; Ms. Hypatia-50 (Dark/Regen)
No, but I do tend to transfer them off to other servers to collect dust since I don't generally waste time on them after that.

No, but I only have about 6. I have one Dominator version of a character I decided I preferred as a Controller who got sent off to another server and effectively deleted, if not actually. But then I am the sort of person who prefers posting on message boards to actually playing on double XP weekend, so take that for whats its worth.
no, but then I don't have very many. Aside from my ar/dev (who I dragged to 50 kicking and screaming just so I could see if throwing billions of inf at an UBERBUILD would make him fun again), my 50s are all characters I really, really liked playing.

Not so far BUT I am running out of slots and barring another free server transfer I may just get rid of a couple I have found it very hard to want to play anymore. I now have 9 of my 50 levels involved in the Incarnate System and all but one have their Uncommon... going though the process to decide who to select I HAVE found a few I simply could'nt bring myself to consider running the Ramiel Arc and using... Obviously they were fun to level at some point but I have other interests now.

I deleted my first Villain 50, a Mercs/FF Mastermind, I kinda liked the set early on but I grew to hate it later and that was quite a while ago.

I've deleted three so far. The first was my first tank who got the ax when they changed energy melee. I didn't want to play her so she went. The next two just weren't getting played. They funded some new characters.
I also deleted a 49.5 blaster. She'd been 49.5 for over a year. I couldn't find enough interest to level her that last bit.
If you don't play them, then why keep them? Use the enhancements and influence for another character that you will play.
yes, several in fact, mostly because i did not enjoy playing them very much
that i can remember, i have deleted a lvl 50 emp/psi defender (no remake), lvl 50 ill/storm (remade to ill/cold), and a AR/dark corr (partial remake to dp/dark)
Few:
Energy/energy blaster (Now I regret it, was before power custom and was bored to hell. Pity).
Broadsword/willpower stalker (Non ninjitsu stalker doesnt make sense to me at all anymore).
Rad/rad defender (Since GR defender doesnt make sense to me anymore and Im too used to brutes and scrappers, I solo a lot).
Im about to detele my lvl 42 PB, I hate knockback and my lvl 50 MA/WP scrapper. I dont know what to do with her. I dont have a concept, non cool ideas costumes, and I dont like having just 1 AoE attack. Wish she was MA/SD.
I dont have problem deleting 50 when I get to the point I dont care about them anymore.
I haven't deleted any yet, but I don't have all that many either. I might delete some eventually though. I could see it happening. Especially my archery/devices blaster. It sort of surprises me he ever made it to 50 in the first place.
I've never deleted a 50 and I have 21 of them. I actually play most of them once in a blue moon. I took the time to respec all but a few for Inherent Fitness. I've run all but one through Ramiel's arc to unlock the Alpha Slot. At least one of them doesn't even have IOs - just SOs and HOs.
The highest character I ever deleted was level 16. He was a claws/SR scrapper named Unarmed Wombat. It was pointed out to me that having claws meant he wasn't unarmed, so I deleted and re-rolled as MA/SR.
Paragon City Search And Rescue
The Mentor Project
I powered a brute to level 50 and then deleted it the instant I was sure I could make VEAT's.
Never. I play my characters to 50 rather carefully. If I don't like them as I level them up, they will simply never reach 50. I will know if I don't like something long before it gets that high. I never, ever powerlevel or really even especially quickly level something, such as by running with higher-level teams.
The only things that would ever make me delete something I actually got to 50 would be if powers changes radically modified how it played into something so different and disliked that I could not adjust to it.

I started just before AE came in (literally a couple of days), so a lot of my chars back then were AE babies. Had about 15 lvl 50s within a couple of months then i ended up deleting and rerolling them because when i finally found out there was more to CoX than Atlas Park i had NO idea how to play my chars.
Only 1 char i have which was my first ever was kept and i hadn't done a lot in AE with her by the time i got sick of doorsitting/bubble farms so i level'd her the "normal" way...still have her and shes my main
Nowadays though, i generally know if i'm not gona like a char by the 30's and they get put aside til i reroll them as i generally want to keep the names.

Short Story I did: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=228383

I've deleted two 50s so far. Looking at deleting two more. It seems unfathomable the first time, but it gets progressively easier with each subsequent 50.
The first one I deleted was a level 50 MA/Inv Scrapper who wasn't a lot of fun to play and, more than anything else, wasn't true to her concept. She was made back in 2004, back when the only way to get Super Strength was on a Tanker, and I didn't like Tankers. With I6, Brutes become something I liked that had Super Strength, but they were all evil. It wasn't until I18 that I finally had the option of making a heroic Inv/SS Brute, and I jumped at the chance. Best. Decision. Ever! Incidentally, Crash is back to 50 within about 200 manhours
The second 50 I deleted was my second oldest character, an AR/Dev/Munitions Blaster whom I blame for tricking me into thinking I could play Blasters and enjoy them. I CAN play them. I CAN'T enjoy them. I just wish I hadn't gotten three to 50 before I realised this. This guy is gone, to be replaced with a Bots/Traps Mastermind, a much better costume, a much stronger build that doesn't make me feel like a skittish wimp and an only ever so slightly revised story.
The next one I intend to delete is a 50 Energy/Energy/Force Blaster. She was supposed to be this all-powerful godlike alien princess, which didn't really pan out as a Blaster. So she'll be turning into an Energy/Energy Brute. Granted, that's not exactly the greatest of Brutes out there (I should know - I have one at 50 already), but it's a HELL of a lot better than a glass cannon that really didn't even have the "cannon" part down right.
The next one after that will be a Fire/Fire/Flame Blaster, the one I dubbed the "Empress of Flame" and who was supposed to have immense powers... But really didn't. She'll probably morph into a Fire/Fire/Something Scrapper, if for no reason other than because I don't have one of those yet. I don't foresee loosing TOO much damage, but not dying all the time will be a major plus.
So why delete these characters and not just transfer them to another server, rename and retcon them? First of all, it costs money, and while I may be loose with my purse strings, I'm not in the habit of chucking money in the fireplace just to hear it crackle. Secondly, there's no point in having a "new" character who I haven't played up to level. Right now, I could use an AT/Powerset respec, but I still wouldn't actually use it if I had the chance. Characters need to be played the whole way through, otherwise it feels like a cheat, and I'm missing out on the growing up process. As such, I literally have no use for a level 50 absent of the concept which got it to 50.

Yup. The way that I rolled characters and played totally changed around issue ten or so, so my existing characters became worthless to me. An ice/ice blaster and bots/traps mastermind got deleted when this new playstyle came around, a Crab Spider that was meant to be my namesake undercover got deleted when Going Rogue was announced, and an elec/elec scrapper got deleted when she duoed to fifty way too quickly.
Since, I've taken my new style of playing and rerolled my ice/ice blaster (currently 32), my bots/traps mastermind (26), my elec/elec scrapper (35), and have plans to roll another Crab Spider. I am having a blast.

These days, I expect a LOT more from my characters than I used to, so I've had to cut a few underperformers, but that's just the nature of the game. You get characters to 50, but then the game changes and they end up being far, far too weak.

I deleted 2 of them when I opened a new account just for myself. (Had shared an account with my ex.) I started them again and they are back to 50.
Many things worth doing in the world had been declared impossible before they were done.
Title says it all and if so why?
I have come to the conclusion on a few of my 50's I just can't stand to play them any longer.
I have a electric/electric blaster that just is such a let down, under powered and just such a bore to play.I've slowly been respec him out of his sets until there is nothing left.
I've done multiple respec's on him tried different builds on him and have never had any build to be what I wanted him to be.
My next build is my rad/rad corr while I really love /rad, his primary is a disappointment I probably should have rolled sonic/ or maybe fire.Same as above have tried different builds on him and nothing ever "clicked".Slowly respec him out of his sets and soon he will be gone.
Although I have breathed "new" life into a few of my other 50's, my bots/ff mm oh so boring but really great on Hami raids and a "marketeer' now.
My fire/kin troller while I am really "farmed" out (I have a ss/fa brute also that I just can't stand to play) I think after a year or so of just farming pretty well doomed it for these two AT's.
Until on my fire/kin just by chance I helped a sgmate take on some GM's and ran a few mishes and really loved him running regular mishes. So my fire/kin is back and slowly planning on purpling him out.
Although my ss/fa broot I just can't go near him without cringing, I just cannot stand Rage anymore.I'll keep my brute but only because I have had him for years now.
A Spines/DA scrapper while I love spines I just cannot play dark.I'm keeping him now, I don't want to give up him yet.
I'm on the fence about my WM/SA broot and you probably guessed that since you really can't run in Granite it sorta really makes the toon suck.Yes,I do realize there are guides to make them run quicker,I cannot bring myself to slot it that way.Luckily the wife has a /kin corr she likes so he does get to go out once in awhile but not too often.
I'm really picky about my toons and I love an idea and sometimes it makes it to 50 but alot of times they don't.It's a long standing joke in my sg that I burn through more alts than anyone they know and I have delete on speed dial for my toons.
So what about you? Have any that have made it 50 and just died for you? Or bored by what they are now. Maybe they got changed in some issue or pvp might have killed their effectiveness.Let's hear about it.
