That way you can have Six slots by default, or Ten if you do all the tailor missions and get the Halloween Salvage.
The best part? If you DON'T want them you don't have to do anything with them. Those that DO want them can finally have more tailoring room.

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

While I don't really need more costume slots. I know other people would love to have more.

Totally Agree!
I'd deffinately like this.
Global: @All-American Teen
70 toons across 11 servers.
Top hero -All-American Teen lvl 50 eng/invul Tanker (01:10 EST; 1/24/09)
Top villian -Poisoned Plum lvl 30 robots/devices Mastermind
Doubt it will happen, but I'd love to have more costume slots per toon!
I'll take it.
Current Published Arcs
#1 "Too Drunk to be Alcoholic" Arc #48942
#2 "To Slay Sleeping Dragons" Arc #111486
#3 "Stop Calling Me"
I'd be glad to just display the Arachnos full six costumes correctly.
I can also get behind this, too. I see plenty of costume sheets for characters on web pages that are three tiers high. This will make it easier for those players to use all their 'stumes.

I have characters I'd like to have the hero costume with the mask on and off on (purely for RP purposes...which isn't that basically what multiple costume slots come down to), and still have other costume slots used for other things!
As it is, doing the mask on and off, just really burns into my...have this and this costume available at all times.

I too must support this idea. More costume slots would be great. The bug with spiders and their ability to get (and use, they just can't modify the sixth) six slots proves the system can handle more than five, it should be just a matter of changing the UI to allow access to them I think. SCR applies of course but still.
Hell, make it a booster pack if needed. Ten bucks and every character on your account gets two more slots, or some such.

Not the first time it's been suggested but I support it every time.
When I suggested it a few years back, one of the responses was that they would have to recode the costume change interface. As it is, the five costumes almost cover your screen so they'd have to alter the window so that it could either be scrolled along or make the costume pictures smaller.
Either way, very, very signed.

Okay, so given that microtransactions appears to be the way that things are going and with the announcement of possible costumes for civilian clothing, its about time I got down an idea thats been knocking around my brain for ages. The Fashion Victim Expansion Pack The pack gives 20 costume slots that can be distributed across as many of your toons as you like up to a maximum of 10 costumes per character. They can be allocated from the character selection screen in the same way that we can now pay for a respec or add more character slots. As an added bonus, there could be a small animation that plays for changing costume, selectable from either a flash of light or a black smudge (to suit dark or light characters). This could be turned off in the options screen though in case it got annoying. The only downside I can imagine is that the costume slots we obtain at levels 20, 30 and 40 (10 for VEATS) would become less special. However, there could be a cap on how many costume slots can be allocated per ten levels. Levels 1 10 = 3 costumes (one base, one Halloween salvage, one bought), levels 10 20 = 4, levels 20 30 = 6, levels 30 40 = 7 and levels 40 50 = 10. So reaching each of those levels still has a bonus associated with it as doing to tailor mission raises the cap on how many costume slots you can apply to your character. Please feel free to leave constructive comments. Thanks! |

I've been hoping for an increase in the costume slot count for years, and while i've given up hope , just like my dream of back pack type parts..../Signed!
Hey, you never know.
Pinnacle & Virtue:
A bunch of Heroes - Alpha Team, Legion of Order.
A bunch of Villains -Black Citadel , Pinnache.
Because the costume system we have doesn't easily let us do things like turn auras off (unless you force a combat aura, but then you have to be locked into an emote position and hit a combat key to trigger it, and it soon fades), remove masks/hats/capes and remove jackets, I could easily do with more costume slots for my characters.
Nachtbrecher could do with more, seeing as he usually takes his mask off when talking, and dons it for combat.
/unsigned.
I think 5 costumes at lvls 40-50 are more than enough. Damn, I even have problems to get 2 of them the way I really want. I think is more interesting to change them or upgrade the costume slots we already have from time to time. |
Seems like a silly reason to argue against it.
Oh, and /signed. I have some characters that could really use more.
So giving them to people who would like them would affect you how? If you don't have a use for them, and they affect nothing (powers/combat/xp/etc-wise) in game, just ignore them. You're not at any disadvantage.

I made suggestions before that doesnt also affect people and they /unsigned them with no reason...
But, wait, you right. I dont want to be like them.
I will continue to support this idea each time I see it come up.
I would love to have 5 slots to a page and atleast 3 pages that you can scroll through like character slots are now. Even where you could move stuff around in your "closet"

http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showt...hlight=costume Funny, I forgot about the suggestion of this thing called a 'costume change emote'. Wow. |
Given what a key part costumes are to the game, or rather one of the elements it does so well, theres no point NOT making a bigger deal out of them.
GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

On principal, I refuse to pay for a feature that should be added into the game as a regular update. (Ok, that said, I'd still buy it, because I'm a sucker like that...)

In an ideal world, I'd rather not pay for it either. The amount of customisation this game gives us is a huge selling point so I agree it'd make sense to capitalise on that. However, as I said in the original suggestion, booster packs seem to be the way we're going these days. And yes, I'd still buy it too as I'm a sucker for costumes.

What if.... you could have alternate sets of 5 costumes?
Blapperman has no problem changing out of his tights into his dayjob persona of Blapp Erman, reporter, then throwing on his Vanguard armor for a night of Rikti stomping, etc. But when invited to attend a fancy dress opportunity with the Rikti ambassador, he has no appropriate attire. So a quick dash to the nearest tailor (or superbase item created for this purpose) allows him to select Wardrobe #2. Now Blapperman can show up in tophat and tails, or Vanguard armor sans helmet, or that wacky 'zombified Blapperman' costume he made so Honoree wouldn't feel so out of place, etc.
No changes would need to be made to the current costume selection interface; the only thing needed would be a new, similar interface to select which wardrobe closet to use. Have this access unlockable somehow at Level 50, and nothing has to change with the curent methods of slotting costumes; they're all still special and you still have to work for them, but those poor VEATs still can't see all their costumes till they hit L50 (yes I have VEATs, no I don't wanna overly cater to them, because they already GET a costume slot no one else does!).
While I'd be fine with unlocking the entire 5-slot wardrobe in one fell swoop, I could also see the advantage to having each slot unlocked seperately. Maybe all 5 (4 for VEATS) slots can be unlocked with Halloween Salvage, putting them on a par with candy canes as far as desirability goes, as soon as the Wardrobe is unlocked. Maybe there are other requirements (accolades, Incarnate slots, certain dayjobs, etc) for each slot.
The one thing I wouldn't do is make the first slot free with the unlocking of Wardrobe #2; I'd have it be something you buy with merits, Halloween salvage, or other non-task, to give eneryone else the chance to catch up to the VEAT costume total without robbing them of their advantage or denying them a mission reward.
It's just a goofy QoL thing and most people won't use it....but some of us would like to have more than five costumes, especially those of us that are playing things like dopplegangers or clothes horses or cosplayers
maybe as a Veteran award?
