Known to be in the pipeline: The Big Valley.

I'll type that again: The Big Valley.

Hollywood has officially run dry, folks.

Word on the street is that he's reshooting it. The 3D conversion apparently looked really good, but he wants to take it even further. Are you ready for a CGI DiCaprio? Three-DiCaprio, as we like to call him.

Uh, no we don't.

The easiest remakes are sci-fi/horror movies from way back in the day that have now laughable effects for them, but there is enough of a story that an update would be justified. It would be a similar idea of remaking classic PC games like what happened with the Monkey Island series. War of the Worlds was a solid attempt at it considering the source material was rather lacking and that made a ton of money, near $400mil worldwide in terms of profit.

Kind of surprised no one has attempted a remake of M*A*S*H.

Remake movies that suck so they get a second chance at being good. Like Cowboys and Aliens. Or if it was previously based off source material and wasn't faithful, make it more so, like True Grit and what I hope the new Total Recall is doing (It can't top the original is pure fun ridiculousness).

3 Ninjas.

Too good not to happen.

They could still do High Chaparral or The Monroes (the 1966 TV series, not the 1995 one).

Ultimate Run Dry: a remake of the Gunsmoke spin-off, Dirty Sally.

I wouldn't quite call that particular film a remake to the Lang film, per say. Since that film is based from the Manga of the same name. And the Manga had very loose inspirations to the Lang film.

That being said, I liked that Metropolis, and it is a very enjoyable film. I just feel a remake closer to the original film's story would be interesting to see.

I'm not actually. And I'm kind of glad for that too. The original film is rather good, and I think holds up well. The legacy the TV series made, I think, would kind of limit what could be done in a remake as well.

Thank you for the time...

A remake is being done, supposedly.

I forsee a remake of Alfred Hitchcock's North by Northwest starring the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.

While I enjoyed the mannequin idea I think movies like Avatar point towards the eventual path the Star Wars trilogy will follow.

We all know the Original Trilogy will likely get the "3D treatment" in the next few years. I believe that's only a baby step towards the final fate of those movies. I suspect that by 2020 (whether Lucas is around for it or not) the original Star Wars trilogy will get completely remade as a 100% CGI'd affair that'll use the likenesses of the original actors digitized for brand new "live" action scenes.

Consider the following fact: We recently watched Carrie Fisher's HBO special Wishful Drinking. In it she specifically mentioned that Lucas owns the LIKENESS of her as Princess Leia as she appeared in those movies. That means if he gets the tech to use that likeness as a CGI animation he could basically use her (as she appeared in 1977) at ANY point in the future. It's likely that Lucas owns the likeness of all the other actors in these movies as well.

Mark my words people - it's almost guaranteed to happen at some point, for better or worse.

Supposedly in the works, but casting has been a major issue.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

They're doing a remaking of Short Circuit. And my friend said something about seeing a summary of it that mentioned Johnny 5 befriending a troubled teenage boy or something in the new one. And you just know they'll do CGI Johnny 5 instead of making real robots again. And I bet they think the Three Stooges jokes aren't relevant anymore. So there goes my childhood.

But will they cast a non-Indian to play an Indian scientist again?

You see, the problem is this:

YOU DO NOT LOOK DIRECTLY INTO THE AWESOMENESS THAT IS THE FLYING JACK-PUNCH!

Prolly not... pretty easy to find Indians in the biz now compared to then. Not saying it was hard then, but casting agents are lazy

To be fair, they could fix that... and then not hire Steve Guttenberg for a main role. That will probably help balance out some of the problems.

Remake, reinvision, reimagining - all words for the same idea: let's take something that was done well, poo all over it with our super awesome god-like skills and make a fortune.

Remember Karate Kid from the 80's? You know you do. You also remember trying to do the crane kick? Of course.

Now what do you remember from the remake? Exactly, nothing.
