The Praetorian Hamidon has tentacles and claws, according to Tyrant's bio on the GR website.

Cause if you hover above the skyline in Praetoria,you can see that the area where the tentacle came from is filled with trees.
Hence the incarnate part: it can live wherever the heck it chooses!

Sadly, since he's not a Jabberwocky, you become Hamidon's snacky-snack...

@Doctor Gemini

Arc #271637 - Welcome to M.A.G.I. - An alternative first story arc for magic origin heroes. At Hero Registration you heard the jokes about Azuria always losing things. When she loses the entire M.A.G.I. vault, you are chosen to find it.

The tentacles that people are seeing don't have to be the Hamidon itself anyway. They could easily be some variety of Devouring Earth monster. It seems pretty clear that they are Devouring Earth though. I'm sure with more time to work, Hamidon's got more than just rather large rocks running around for him.

I quote Tyrant's Bio(from Paragon Wiki):
Nothing said in any of the bios can be taken at face value. Any or all of it could be propaganda (from either side).

The tentacles, assuming they're actually in the game, could also be fakes operated by the State. Since they're conveniently inaccessible I'll believe they're part of a Praetorian Hamidon (or real at all) when and if we get to fight them.

I'm just observing it

Although, if I did defeat it, that might make Tyrant ragequit

But the bio sasy good and bad things about him, so it can't really be the work of either side

Given that the biographies [appear to be] written for us, the players, instead of a character reading it, it seems pretty plain that they should be trusted.

It actually does look much more like the Hydra Tentacles you face in the Abandoned Sewer Trial and now in mission one of the Apex TF. Of course the Clockwork got a whole new look in Praetoria so who is to say the the DE couldn't have something similar... and I do seem to recall that there were some sort of DE tentacles located in some of the deep cracks located in Faultline. They looked a lot like Hydra tentacle beasts too but were definately Devouring earth. I wonder if this is something we can look forward to battling in the future though. We have been sort of promised more content in Praetoria and even content above level 20.
Okay so I didn't see the reference on the GR page stating that the Hamidon in Praetoria has tentacle and claws. I also NEVER said I thought whatever the OP had a picture of was HYDRA. I said it looked similar to the Hydra Tentacles and then went on to say I saw no reason why there could not be DE on Praetoria that did look just like that.

Its a really cool picture and in future issues I'd love to see a zone similar to the Abyss and Hive where we could battle the Praetorian Hamidon just like we do in COH/COV now. If he has claws and tentacles instead of just looking like a giant advertisment for Jello .. FANTASTIC! Why is it any thread like this always manages to have one or two posters more interested in seeing if they can belittle someone than in just having fun?

They're not different -- at least, not yet (no revamp). If you do the new Tina McIntyre arc, you're sent to Praetoria outside the city and you fight DE. They look exactly the same as Primal DE.

They're in the game.

I don't know how to embed images in the forum, but here's this.

Pretty clever of Emperor Cole to create fakes of a threat from the future.

They may not belong to any version of Hamidon, but unless the memory Mender Ramiel was carrying is a fake they are most assuredly real.

So Emperor Cole's propaganda machine not only involves flooding the airwaves with false information, drugging the populace to make them easier to control, and purposefully inciting conflict to get people to turn to his side, but also creating skyscraper sized robotic (or genetically engineered) tentacles and placing them in a wilderness filled with creatures that hate technology in any of its forms just to get people to believe that the Hamidon exists, which everyone does anyway, and LITERALLY BREAKING THE FOURTH WALL by manipulating his own bio just to throw off any hyperdimensional observers (A.K.A. the players).

...well if that's the case then I can see why the guy is in charge!

I'd imagine the reason why Praetorian Hamidon looks the way it does is because it's older. Primal Hamidon is clearly only in "larval" form.
