Trapdoor now invincible
I'm glad I cleared this mission out on all my 50s before the patch hit.
H: Blaster 50, Defender 50, Tank 50, Scrapper 50, Controller 50, PB 50, WS 50
V: Brute 50, Corruptor 50, MM 50, Dominator 50, Stalker 50, AW 50, AS 50
Top 4: Controller, Brute, Scrapper, Corruptor
Bottom 4: (Peacebringer) way below everything else, Mastermind, Dominator, Blaster
CoH in WQHD
Didn't have any chance on my Broadsword/Shield-Scrapper...
Whoever had the idea of putting 2 missions that can't be soloed by a lot of chars in between two single-player-only mission deserves to be punished in my opinion...
Change the Mission so that his clones at least spawn close to him and not on the other side of the room... I simply hate running around after them.
Aaaaand can it be, that this mission is set so that auto-complete does not work on it?

Just ran the new one on a DP/NRG blaster and had no issues. I didn't find the old one very hard and was actually concerned about these changes, but it is doable. I will try on a defender and see, but I don't think it will be a problem.
As my old Chief used to say....utilize your resources...there is a ton of "toys" in the game you can use against him. Use them.

aggro him out into the hall way out of site of his clones, Immob him thier, kill off all clones and let them respawn all the while keepin him immobed in the hall. After that even with his clones respawned they didnt buff him and when they died thier buffs faded off him and once all 4 (just kill each one once)where down 2 Immobs and 2 Holds with a Seismic smash and he was down. Before that i had layed into him for nearly 15 minds without even scratchin his hp.
Leading him into the fire doesn't work?
The trick i used to solo him on my controller(and it might work for others) is....

Added more detailed description of what is needed to access Mender Ramiels arc when you speak with him.
Trapdoor no longer stops Bifurcating.
Trapdoor will mix up the location of his bifurcations a little bit more.
Trapdoor can no longer be dragged out of range of his Bifurcations.
Not today you didn't unless it's bugged.

I'm wondering why the devs have gone out of their way over the past year or so to make just about everything more cumbersome, more difficult, and very unsolable? There might be some twisted logic in thinking that this is a good way to make the game more challenging. I, on the other hand, think that it may end up chasing players away - both old hands and newbie.

I'll drop the vague reference about "utilize your resources" and just ask....
Did you bring any temp poewrs?
-Backup radio
-Temp attacks especially grenages and the -regen dagger
-Wolf whistle (Oro for it)
-Many other temp powers readily availble in the game by Oro or market.
-Base Buffs
-Can go real crazy and grab some Shivans or nukes.
We have this huge pool of stuff to grab for getting things done, and no offense but I have to wonder when people have such a hard time with things solo, are they just jumping right in with what they have on them, failing and crying foul?

To be totally fair, I just ran it with a Rad/Rad defender....all SOs and Generics (hasnt been respec'd in a real long time).
I used nothing that is not available to everyone.
Popped a backup radio pet and used grenages and daggers and my own powers.
It took longer to get to him than it did to defeat him.

So any AT that has issues should have to go and buy / gather temp powers because their AT sucks so bad they can't solo a mission meant to be soloable by everyone. Yeah that'll make you feel like an incarnate.

What's wrong with a challenge?
Now I haven't tried this since the changes but it is what it is. Take a step back, breathe and figure it out.
Done the arc about six times, admittedly haven't tried it after today's patch, but before the patch I never tried pulling him out of line of sight. When he bifurcated, I killed the bifurcations. Otherwise, I beat on him. Had little to no problems working that way on my Scrapper, Stalker, and Controller, and I was teamed when I did it on my Defender and Dominator. The character I had the most trouble with was my Stone Tanker, because I felt like trying to solo it even though his damage isn't that awesome... and the main problem I had was the fact that in Granite, I had trouble getting to the bifurcations and back in time. Eventually, the lava helped quite a bit in taking him down, even though I was essentially beating on him through two bifurcations the whole time.
My understanding is that if I used the exact same tactics again after this patch, there would be no difference. Please correct me if I am wrong on that. But if it is at least similar, then I would have to say he's not 'invincible'.

I was not able to make him stay in the lava on the character I was playing, either. Eventually I ran out of purples and got two shotted.

Now before someone starts ******** up a storm about "hard content" and "get a team".
Great, fine and wonderful. For an arc that's supposed to be about an INDIVIDUAL seeking to heighten their own PERSONAL power.
They may as well just turn it into a ****ing taskforce at this point if that's the case.
By the way, I tried this tonight on a Fire/Fire/Fire Tank (fresh mission), and found out a very disturbing fact:
Taunt does NOT work on the clones. They will NOT move.
So a basic power (Taunt) and a AT Inherent (Gauntlet) are completely negated. I tried to pull the clones closer to me so that I could fight them and the EB at the same time. They simply would not move at all. They would attack at range or stand stupidly, but not melee.
The clones on my mostly generic IO build took long enough to find and kill that trapdoor spawned at least one more clone during the same time frame.

By that wisdom, they could make his mission as difficult as the STF, and it'd be ok, eh? Just /shrug and get a few friends.

I was able to solo Trapdoor without major issues this morning on an entirely different character who started the arc after the patch.
That character was an ill/emp controller, another character not really built for soloing at all. I used the character's basic strategy when I try to solo on her, which is to keep everything charmed. I was able to charm Trapdoor and keep him charmed. His regeneration was not off the table like it was in the previous attempt. He summoned a clone. I thought he would attack it, but he did not, and neither did I.
This looks to me more and more like a bug that arises when you had the mission before the patch and try to finish it afterwards. I will try dropping the arc and restarting and see if that helps.

I tried to solo Trapdoor after the patch today on a rad/archery defender. I had the mission before the patch, but got killed the first time I ran it, and so waited until later.
I was still able to pull Trapdoor out of the line of sight of his clones. However, his regeneration was beyond the ability of my rad to overcome with his damage and debuffs, even though he was in the hall and no clones were in sight.
I tried the kill the clones as they appear strategy, but one was enough to put him back up to full health. The radiation powers seemed to have no effect. Killing the clones was not getting anywhere either. As soon as one died another would spawn, so I didn't get to damage him enough to make a difference that way. Line of sight on the clones was not having any effect either.
I was not able to make him stay in the lava on the character I was playing, either. Eventually I ran out of purples and got two shotted.
This may be a bug from having the mission from before the patch. I will abandon the arc and try again this evening. One way or another, the mission I have is not doable on that character now.
