How do you feel about this in Broadcast?
Honestly? If someone wants to pay to get powerlevelled and they use broadcast to try and find someone who will powerlevel for payment, that's no skin off my back. It's their choice to pay for the service, and it's my choice to use the /ignore and global notes afterwards. I don't see a problem with that.

Seriously though. No issue with it. It's no different than the people who already run demon farm maps (or whatever) in normal content to PL friends.

Sounds like a ton of money just to have someone hang around on a few missions every now and again.
I'm going to go out on a limb here and say the OP was expecting/hoping for someone to go on a rant about how PL'ers and the like are ruining the game..but um... 880mill infl? Tell the guy to send me a pm ingame.. I'll PL him.
Kinda pitying honestly.
It's not excessively hard to level in this game.

Doesn't really bother me.. (:
A waste of 14.99.
There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

That makes me sad...
It has no ((double brackets))...
and round up everyone that knows more than they do"-Dylan
Neither the servcice he's requesting nor the payment he's offering are EULA violations. That being so... its reallyn none of my business is it?
Even if it were, I ahve toa dmit, that I can empathise with someone who has plenty of (virtual) cash to burn and a new build they want to try, but cringes at the thought of grinding up to 50 through normal missions for the trillionth time.

Whatever floats their boat. It'd be "sad", I guess, if they'd never experienced all the content. But if they're a vet who doesn't want to go through all the same old repetitive stuff, and instead pick and choose what they do via Ouro and such? Who cares?
But more importantly, what anime is that avatar from, GW?

If they're willing to pay inf and not cash I don't see a problem with it.

Tell me his name and I'll make sure he never powerlevels that character again.
...and make a nice profit in the process. Mmmm, 880 million.
Sounds like old PI (pre-AE), but it was generally 1M a level, paid in advance and made me switch tabs when running missions in PI to avoid the static. There were also constant PMs for level bridges before Super-SK to the PLers could get the most from their money.
Crazy that anyone is paying for the privilege now, but... hey, as long as they're having fun. I guess.
Seriously. Who looks at that channel?
As for the topic, I think he's a sad, pathetic kid that just needs to be 50 for... well no reason I can see. |
If they want to PL and can't do it themselves then it's no skin off my nose if they offer to pay pretendy-monies to get someone to help them do so (speaking as someone without any 50s US side. I'm in no hurry).
With the game mechanics the way they are now I can't see the point of doing it mind. Just sticking my LFT flag on has gotten me onto Level 50 teams with a fair few characters in the early 30s and I have fun contributing to the mayhem. Not running at PL levels, but certainly getting more XP/Min than I would either soloing or running with an early 30s team.
I don't even bother with advertisements like this. Waste of time to get fumed about it in my opinion, person is paying for something that if they timed their log-in duration right they can get relatively for free. :P

Unless I'm bored and looking for lulz I turn broadcast off. So not an issue for me.

I do hate constant spam though. A couple months ago I was on another sever. This server, called Not-Virtue, had these messages fairly non-stop at the time. My level two heard about 20,000,000 such announcements (just a guess but it was likely more than that ) before getting a sewer group and an equal number while training in Atlas. It was like what we all heard during the monkey craze. Only I guess there is no exploit to squash that will put it to rest on Not-Virtue.
I have heard the same thing just a couple of time recently here on Virtue. I was wondering if people think about that sort of thing or care. It is hard to gauge what is considered simple courtesy on public channels or what expect from other people. So I asked.
Who here filters out Broadcast besides all_hell, Scooby Dont and bpphantom? Is that the answer?

I just started looking for an avatar. I keep changing it. Which one did you see? Right now it is Elfen Lied. I think I am going to change it again. Not a great show in my opinion and the avatar isn't what I want. I heard the manga is better but have not read it. The one with two girls hefting guns is Full Metal Panic fan art or at least it is not from the anime that I remember. I really liked FMP back in the day. I don't know if it has aged well. I had Red Monika up for a very short time. Large tracks of land, red hair. She is from the old comic Battle Chasers.
Honestly it just makes me want to pull out my fire/kin and farm them. That's enough money to IO an entire toon. I honestly don't care if people want to get PLed. If they're on my team and don't know what they're doing, they get kicked. If they're just tired of the grind, more power to them.

I can still recall a Double XP weekend where I headed to PI on a Sunday to try and get my 49 level to 50 ... With only 5 or 6 hours left before the weekend ended all you saw in broadcast was people begging for a FARM and willing to pay X Million per run. People advertising their services as Bridges at X Million a run. Farmers advertising their mission at X Million a run per team mate. There were more characters below level 20 on Peregrin Island than there were 40-50 levels. I couldn't even find 5, 6 or 7 players that actually wanted to run missions and PLAY the game.. In short the entire island has turned into a ***** House and I logged off ad didn't come back until Tuesday. I hooked up with an AV team and dinged 50 battling Siege. Some how that seemed a much more appropriate way to do it than running in a two block circle over and over killing Demons.
Like I said I don't judge players usually if that's what they like and they are happy.. FINE But every time I see stuff like that I can't help but wonder how they can take any pride in the character they created if they pay someone else to do all the work.
Were always the good guys. In D&D, were lawful good. In City of Heroes were the heroes. In Grand Theft Auto we pay the prostitutes promptly and never hit them with a bat. Leonard
Those women are prostitutes? You said they were raising money for stem cell research! Sheldon
Honestly, I wouldn't mind paying to get a couple characters to 50... well, maybe not to 50, but maybe to 30. /shrug
To each their own. As for taking pride in characters and such... I take zero pride in events that happen in an online game. Yes, there's a level of skill involved, but it isn't much of a real-world skill in the end. Again, to each their own.
That sounds a little harsher than I intended it to, it's not an insult. I'm all 'meh' about the whole thing.
