I think that is an INCREDIBLY horrible idea. Our powers would work differently at different times. Even with PvP rules, we know they work one way normally and another way in a PvP zone. With your suggestion, they would work differently every time and we wouldn't know the details in advance. Horrible.

This badge can be earned without nukes, but it is difficult. You need alot of support (colds doms are fantastic) and strong immobilization for Director 11. We had:

- Perma Fire/Psi Dom
- Another Perma Dom with aoe immob.
- 2 Cold Domination Corrs
- Ice/Rad troller
- Fire/Kin Corr (with BS aoe immob)
- Me (DM/Inv scrapper)
- An Emp defender

We shielded up before entering the warehouse, then blitzed the comps. Doms and anyone with an immob power, spammed it until D11 was locked down. We stayed at range and blasted him to oblivion. I used 10 charges of a fresh envenomed dagger and blackwand. I also engaged the ambushes when they got close to our pack.

I believe the minelayers are tied to his movement. We did not kite or run around after he was immobilized. It is one of the few encounters where the single target immob. power in most control sets is practically necessary.

Clearly this team of yours was strongly optimized for this encounter. Not really saying that's a bad thing at all, but I would also point out almost anything in this game can be accomplished "without nukes" if you have the appropriate "dream team" to throw against it.

This Director 11 challenge will go down in the annals of this game much like most of the others.
It started out seeming impossible until people eventually figured it out.

Do you have to click all the glowies in order for 11 to show up, or does he show up when the timer runs out? I'm thinking that it would be easier to not ever worry about those and assemble at his spawn point, ready to take him out.

When the timer runs out the Malta ambushes occur without Director 11. The AV appears near the last glowie clicked and only after the last glowie not on a timer I do believe.

So could you let the timer run, kill the ambushes, and then spawn him? Or do the ambushes keep coming?

These are clockwork ambushes, not Malta.

There are a set number of ambushes I think around 5.

If you let the timer expire, you'll receive 3 Clockwork ambushes. After that, you can then go click the glowies to spawn Director 11.

The Malta ambushes are a response to Director 11's health as far as I can see.

Malta doesn't appear in warehouse until you clicked all glowies. If you let timer expire with some glowies still there, you are getting only 3 waves of clockwork ambushes.

So we did it on Freedom this morning and I fraps'ed part of it. Didnt get the inside or a SS of complete, was laggin hardcore... BUT here is what i got. Its the buffing we went thru and the amount of pets you need

Ya the 7 Bio nukes+8 Shivan's+2 Snow Beasts+8Hvas's+6 Fire Imps(in case your wonderin how i know well i was Piggly the F/K with the jingle jet tryin to not die 100 times like i did on the MoApex we ran later) they eat treu Dir. 11's hp like its nuthin. Interestingly enuff Hvas dont take dmg from BM's Blue circle of death on the Apex TF.

Yes they do, but not as much.. and with the right team buffs, even a player can survive them without a problem.

A few things:
This section covers all servers, so doing as you suggest misses a lot of core interest. A few better locations to organize badge runs would be in your server section or using your server's global badge channel.
The requirements for Master of Apex/Tin Mage are not the same as previous "Master of" badges. You can get the Master badges for these two TFs over a number of runs. In Midnight Dodger's case it is better to focus on it over the Hacker badge for a single run.

Okay random question:

The pets (Vanguard HVAS/Shivans/etc) do not count against/for the damage taken badge from the mines correct? Meaning if a pet gets hit by a mine but no actual person does, everyone should get the badge right?


Still needing this last badge for the MoTin heh

Just got this badge today and there was only 2 bio nukes, 2 chem nukes, a bunch of Shivans, and 1 or 2 Vanguard Heavies. Half of my team died in the first few seconds due to Malta and Director 11. Our team waited out the clock, dealt with the ambushes, and spawned our pets right on top Director 11's spawn point. I know I used the Raptor Pack and Hyper Phase after I launched the chem nuke. We had to redo the first mission for the people that missed Hacker after we finished the TF.
