Actually, I've been known to occasionally accept the random invite, and fill thier bins with junk. Lvl 7 Fly speed TOs and such.

Well, I am going to admit, I recruit to my SG by sending tells to levels 1-10, and asking if they'd like to join. I am on Victory, and so the list isn't insanely long. I think in the last 3 years I have only had 1 person throw a fit like the post has shown, but I have had positive results from doing this. I am much more successful, then if I ask in broadcast. I have more jerks in broadcast than if I send a tell to lowbies, this is why I do it in that way.
What I don't get is that the person is calling the recruiter a jerk.... all he did was ask if they needed an SG, I usually ask if they would like to join, but that doesn't really matter, what I see as rude is that a person jumped down someones throat just for asking if they'd like to join.... How hard is it to just say No Thanks and be on your way? Is it necessary to cause unneeded Drama?
Just imagine if those currently useless information kiosks could be used for SG recruitment.
Someone looking for an SG could simply go to one, click to see what SGs are recruiting, maybe even find some info about the various SGs listed, and then contact the appropriate recruiter(s).
Someone looking for SG members could list their SG there, along with pertinent information for potential members to peruse at their leisure.
Probably too much trouble to do.
And people would probably still send the "looking for sg?" tells.
Alas!

Dont say things. What you are stands over you the while, and thunders so that I cannot hear what you say to the contrary. - R.W. Emerson |
Glancing through the OP, both sides seemed equally rude to me, with the SG spammer starting/asking for it with his tell, and so I assumed the OP was the one who received the tell...
Reading the post further : heh.

Ah, okay, now that I see it I remember it. Cool.
I've seen people on these boards complain all the time about "blind invites" and wish people would at least send a tell first. Now some are complaining about that. Can't win'em all, I guess.
Personally, I see nothing wrong with a polite, simple "looking for an SG?". I've gotten a few of those, and if my answer's a no I say "no thanks" and that's that. That guy crossed the line first, IMO; and yeah, at that point you probably should've let it go.
Hell if it wasn't for a "blind tell" I would've never ended up in the best guild/SG/whatever I've ever been in since I started playing MMOs on SWG.
