Do you need Going Rogue to get them???...My brother doesnt have GR yet and asked me but I could not find a link stating one way or the other....my search fu may be weak tho....I told him I would assume you wouldn't as you can get tips without GR but not the morality ones of course...

You can focus on it and try to force it but the more you do, the more you seem to push it away. But if you're patient and hold still...maybe...just maybe...it will come to you. Not sure. Just played for about an hour and based on info from my server's badge channel got 2 Halloween tips, and thus 3 badges.

Here's what I know

-You get it from clicking on the door, not defeating mobs.
-You need to be wearing a costume power (from the event or from a code)
-It doesn't matter if you already have 3 tips it will still drop.
-you should stay after mission complete and defeat the Praetorian Clockworks for that badge too.

total kick to the gut

This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.

Pretty sure that the tips system is separate from GR, but the Morality system isn't.

This has been helpful!!

The tip system has never been exclusive to GR, and has always been a part of I18.

Yeah, I was a little taken aback when someone in Pinnbadges said it, but I took their word for it and it worked within a few more doors. Anecdotal evidence I know, but that's fine.

It took me a while to get a costume power so that was killing me. So I killed the tricks in retaliation.

I do recall now how much I hate ghosts and werewolves running off.

You absolutely MUST be under the influence of a Costume Power (gained either from the Halloween event or via a game-code handed out at the many Cons.) in order to receive the Halloween mission Tip.

Do the costume temps from Darrin Wade and Faultline Arcs count too?

I've been trick or Treating for hours--with costume active--Still have yet to have the Halloween tip drop once. It only took me 5 minutes on test...

EDIT: 3 hrs 20 min in, first tip

The plastic tips at the end of shoelaces are called aglets. Their true purpose is sinister.

On test I got a tip very quickly, ran the mish, and then started trick or treating for another one, and after 1/2 hour gave up.

This morning I got a tip on the 2nd door.

Huh... I did not know this. I didn't notice any Praetorian Clockworks on the map. But then again, I didn't stay after Mission Complete to look around. I'll try this out when I log in again later. (O_O)

The timer you're rushing against doesn't stop at Mission complete. Waiting for the "Clockwork Arrival" is what I'm speaking of.

Oh! Yeah, I remember reading something about that in the objectives during the first time. For some reason I had forgotten about the "Clockwork Arrival" thing, and in subsequent missions to get the rest of the badges I had treated the timer as just the usual time limit needed to complete the mission or you'll fail. ^_^;

Thanks Lemur Lad. Will be fighting some Praetorian Clockworks later.

Which is extremely irritating as the costume toggles off certain powers that make a big difference to survivability, arctic air being one of them.

It's true. This game is NOT rocket surgery. - BillZBubba

No, those are special stealths if I recall correctly--not actual "costume powers" in the sense of the ToT mechanic.

Positron supports gaming under the influence! Someone tell a politician!

Wanted: Origin centric story arcs.
If you've only played an AT once (one set combo) and "hate" it - don't give up. Roll a different combo. It may just be those sets not clicking for you.

Playing, I've hit within the first 30 minutes:
Four pieces of halloween salvage
2 costumes
1 halloween tip (and run the mission. Went for the recipe the first time.)

It's random. *shrug*

I'm also pretty sure the costume code prizes won't work either.

Been using my Knives of Artemis costume to get these tips in style, and it's been working like a charm.

And, y'know, Posi's confirmation, heh.

That's weird, as those codes are permanent, right? I would've thought the game would recognize them as different from the temp Halloween ones.

3 hours - in costume almost from the start, 27 salvage, 13 costume temp powers... no tip. My wife got one on like the 3rd treat.

I did get to bag Jack in Irons in Brickstown though so that was good. (thanks for helping DR and everyone else that might be here in the forums).
