Crazy 88's: O & M
You can't do the PvP kills badge fast without several people from the same SG (which sounds unlikely to be a problem for you lot), there's a 'cooldown timer' on PvP Reputation, in that you can't get rep from the same target more than once every 5 minutes.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
Since defeating somebody puts them on the defeat list for everybody on your team, am I correct in guessing that things would go faster if there were no teams?
|
You need to balance the speed at which people are being planted with the number of alts available as sacrificial lambs, otherwise you end up standing around doing not a lot waiting for kill timers to expire.
There was some wrinkle with awakens, alting and bases, but I can't remember what it was now, unfortunately. Something to do with the order in which you hit the awaken and then log out to alt. It may be that I vaguely recall that if you log back into a pvp zone face down, you'll relog back into the hospital, so you need to pop the awaken before you log out, or some such.

we should all get together for GIMP PVP NIGHT in the arena.
It seems like a couple of good sized teams should be able to die 250 times total in fairly short order, right? Plus, if we get a drop we can set more inf on fire! If not, I migrated my stalker Mope over from red side, he can do a ton of damage fast. |
Aren't PvP Ios a great way to burn influence? Assuming you get a good one of course. Sell if for 1bn+ (ideally ON the market to take out the 10% vig) then burn it into prestige?
I've never liked pvp, and pvp farming seems kind of dirty, even for me. But when I get back in the game, maybe this is worth considering?
Ooh, a sarcasm detector. Oh, that's a *real* useful invention. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/technolog...t-sarcasm.html
I'd be happy to partake in some 88'er zone PvP events with the goal of unlocking badges and potentially generating valuable drops which we would then throw in the INFcinerator to power Fulmens' mad schemes.
I actually tried this once a long time ago, proposing a sort of 'marketeer pvp night', but pvp trolls infested the thread and spoiled my appetite.
This, however, we can just organize in SG chat or game email.

I've got a couple billion to blow, I wouldn't mind an invite to SG.
I love what you guys are doing, but just a heads up so you won't be surprised if you get some unfriendly attention to your SG name. ofcourse there's the crazy 88's in Kill Bill. Also 88 is big in the neo nazi community so don't be shocked if someone gives y'all some grief.
The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.
Completely off topic, but right now Outlook on my reclaimed computer is telling me:
"Receiving 93 of 2298". I might take a little longer coming back than I thought.

Well, in Chinese culture it signifies good luck. So they've got that going for them. Which is nice.

As of my quick glance this morning, the 88's have cracked the Top 25, so
Kudos on that milestone! From here, I suspect it will get a bit more challenging
to move up the ranks quickly.
As for the PvP idea, if you guys can bear the moral questioning involved in
beating up little old ladies Granny would volunteer to be a sacrificial lamb..
On second thought, I'm not sure she can actually get to any PvP areas
except (maybe) the arena (she's only L2, and I have no plans to level her up).
@Yomo_Kimyata: Welcome back on the new machine... going forward you
might want to keep a copy of the CoH directory on a cheap flash/thumb
drive rather than doing a full download - fresh re-installs only take about 10
minutes that way...

Woah. That would never have occurred to me (the thumb drive thing), but obviously flash media are now cheap enough that this is practical.
Sorta scary.
Yep - it's a beautiful thing -- especially when you have a home network
with multiple machines (I have CoH installed on 3 of my 5 PC's).
I'd love to take credit for the idea - but this particular bit of brilliance is
BillZBubba's, and I highly recommend his guide on the topic.
I've lost count of how many times it's helped me after swapping/upgrading
PC's over the years.

Yah. I've played CoH on four machines, and the only reason I haven't tried on my netbook is that I doubt it'd work. But maybe it would, and it'd actually be pretty good for marketeering.
Back to the Crazy 88s for a minute: We're at #21 as of this morning, just above the Association. Whose rules as per website are:

2. Log in once a week or get booted.
3. SG mode on, always.
4. Need sense of humor.
... apparently you get more flies with honey. I'm just saying.
EDIT: They may be a dead SG. I may be trumpeting success over someone who didn't show up to the fight. Alas.

So I've only been an active marketeer with 2 toons for a while, partly because the influence falls from the sky just doing the easiest of market activities (like flipping purples), and partly because my online friends get mad at me if I spend too much time in the markets instead of playing with them.
Well, I decided to use my 88's toon, Neander Paul, to do a little light marketting this weekend while I build up some influence to burn all at once with my "serious" marketeers. I seeded myself some cash up to about 500m and decided I'd do some buy-craft-sell (which I haven't done in a couple years actually) on the mid-tier gems like decimations, impervium armors, and kinetic combats. Well, it takes a little more time than straight flipping, and he's got some transactions pending, but I managed to double my money this weekend. Holy crap. 500m isn't a huge sum, but it's not bad for a weekend with my tertiary marketting toon using a technique I haven't touched in a while. More for the burn pile!
By the way, I played Wall Street Brawler for a bit yesterday and got him to 22 I think. He's kinetic melee, and I used the Alpha aura on his hands in the color of green -- money. Seeing him wave green glowing hands about in arcane ways inspired me to add a little bio for him:
"Far more sophisticated than a mere alley brawler, who does nothing more than punch people in the face, the Wall Street Brawler has perfected the art of Money Melee: He mesmerizes his opponents by waving massive fistfuls of cash before them. THEN he punches them in the face."

There are no words for what this community, and the friends I have made here mean to me. Please know that I care for all of you, yes, even you. If you Twitter, I'm MrThan. If you're Unleashed, I'm dumps. I'll try and get registered on the Titan Forums as well. Peace, and thanks for the best nine years anyone could ever ask for.

If anyone wants to get the promotions they paid for, I'm going to try to be on tonight at 7:30 and 10:30 Eastern. (8-10 being "actual game play" time). I can pick a time tomorrow during the day and be on then, as well; what's good for people?

You can get around it to some point by having one or two 'designated killers' and everyone else has as many alts as they can manage parked at one spot in whatever zone you're using. The killers work round the alts that are logged in (including each other), everyone else alts, repeat until bored to tears... Oh, and bring LOTS of Awakens. There may be a wrinkle or two I'm forgetting, or maybe the trauma has blanked them from my mind.
Getting the Fusion Generator on two of my toons was possibly the most soul destroyingly DULL thing I've done in this game. Even the whole group of us that were grinding on the badge turning round and splattering the hell out of any impertinent pvp'ers that turned up and fancied their chances didn't make it any less tedious.
Good luck with it, anyway.
