It is used un other recipes besides just the ones needed for crafting badges. But I beleive what he is saying is that the supply of inexpensive ones is much smaller than it appears. So even if it vends for 250 and is very common, most people don't bother to list it. So the current supply is a very few up cheap and many, like the ones I list for 1000 or more.

But that it is pretty small when you consider the entire player base, all three factions and all servers. So exhausting the cheap salavage is very easy. When I am out at the base and I need one I always bid for 4 cheap so I don't have to hunt it up all the time. The entire inexpensive (2000 to 5000 inf) could be as low as 100 with 7 or 8 hundred selling.

I'm not at all sure of that -- I seem to recall some overlap when I was crafting a whole bunch of stuff. But even so, a few hundred people going for that badge...

there's not "right" or "wrong" way to make inf in this game, there are only efficient and inefficient ways.

The market is by far the most efficient method because you earn while you're logged off.

But different strokes and all that- make it however you like, it all spends the same.

I do take exception to uninformed people who wander in here with bizarre unsupported pet theories about how things ought to work, or who set up a soapbox to lecture morality for a completely indifferent mechanical game system. =P

moderation on these forms is mostly determined by who bothers to complain.

you can engage in relatively bareknuckle discussions with quite a few regulars because they're not going to run to crying to Moddy at the first intemperate rejoinder. Then there are others who start shrieking to the powers that be practically before you've hit 'reply'.

If you know the community fairly well trouble is easily avoided.

'artificial shortage' is a phrase completely empty of meaning.

There is either supply, or there isn't supply.

As well as the chance of their being more than one person badging at a time, Master-Craftsman and Fabricator need 1000 and 2000 IOs crafted. (Before I16, Fabricator was 10,000.) That's more than you'll make getting all the other crafting badges. The easiest way to get the badges is by crafting empowerments buffs in a base, and at three ingredients per buff that chews through a fair amount of salvage in a short space of time.

I still found scoring 10,000 easier by making enhancements than deleting stupid buffs. Enhancements will also make you money. Buying salvage to basically delete it only burns it.

Ok Ok Ok!!

Now I have been reading the threads forever and I rarely post, but come on now!

How long has the markets been out? They just merged them and it is almost smoothed out.

People are still complaining about the; market farmers, farmer farmers and the hoarders that are ruining the market and or game?

I have never worked the market or farmed more than a mish more than 3 times in a row, my eyes started to bleed, and I have hundreds of millions on inf on 3-5 charaters per server on 5-6 servers.

Yeah I have tons of alts.

Most of my charaters have either the "big 3" and or purples slotted as needed.

People just play the game. If you just want inf then hit the markets. If you want an uber toon just play that one and the inf and drops will rain down on you and drown you.

Its not that hard.

Alts on all servers, lvl 50 of every AT:
lvl 50 Heroes on all servers but; Pinnacle, Victory
lvl 50 Villains on all servers but; Guardian, Pinnacle, Triumph, Victory

I suspect that the majority of the players of this game are a lot younger than you or I (not that I'm attempting to guess your age mind you, but you seem rather intelligent), and thus impatient. Tomorrow doesn't exist for them and they are a bunch of whiny little Veruca Salts; they want it now! They're the ones who blast through the game's content in a race to get to level 50. The ones who loved to farm the heck out AE. They're twitchy and they can't stand still. If this was a single player game, they'd have figured out what cheat codes gave them all the loot long ago!

Luckily, I think most of them will outgrow that stage.
I think age has squat to do with this. I made my first billion through the markets when I was 16. Instead of complaining about high prices I decided to do something to be able to afford those prices and this is the source of the problem. You encounter a problem and either choose to whine about it or solve it. The easiest solution is to open fire with your QQ-cannon and blame faceless entities for ruining your game by taking away the purples you "need".

I know I said I was done with this thread...

*sigh*

Hejtmane,

On behalf of the entire Marketeer Community, I would like to sincerely apologize for any anguish and any and all trauma, real or imagined, that this ordeal has put you through. We hope you understand that these actions are the work of an individual and therefore should not be held against the whole. The real-world (people in the game - not on the forums) perception of Marketeers is not favorable at this time. We understand this and are working on several campaigns to help reduce the stress between the Marketeers and the non-marketeers. Hopefully our previous level of tenuous relations can be achieved. At this time, it is looking to be a very long process indeed.

You have our utmost sympathy for the grievance you have brought before us, and we humbly ask that you forgive our wayward member. He was intending to have a lark, and while he did, the wholesale damage this has caused our reputation is nearly beyond our ability to repair. This is evident in the fact that one, such as yourself has willingly come to this forum to share your sad story. To bear witness to the atrocities perpetrated against you on both a financial and emotional level. The market has recovered at this time, but the hearts and minds of all of those involved will need time. Time to heal. Time to forget.

Once again, on behalf of the entire Marketeering Community, I apologize. If there is any form of compensation you desire for your troubles, please feel free to PM me at any time with your request.

Thank you, and God bless.

I've never bugged a mod about anyone's replies to any of my posts on this board, ever. I don't understand why anyone would feel the need to do as such on a board like this.

And i thought it was weird when my NMI sold for 4 million the other day, even though i only list commons at 300, uncommons at 1200, and rares at 6000.. (slightly above vendor prices, so i always make a profit)

Granted, i buy salvage for much higher then i sell it for, so i guess i'm just throwing more money into this machine? Does that make me anti-ebil? Or does my purple'd out warshade disqualify me?

Your purpled WS only disqualifies you if it wasn't purpled casually.

Just wanted to say I love the work you folks do. It is entertaining at least. I never buy salvage. I do sell some. I have 3 storage bases that hold all my dropped salvage. I craft every IO that is dropped (not commons) and I do sell those when not needed. I have a few farm maps that I use to get diff types of salvage. I also have a couple storage bases for IOs as well.

I used to play SWG and spent most of my time cornering the markets there. I would do the same here but just don't have the patients to do it. Keep up the good work you do.
