Vigilantes/Rogues and Epic Power Pools... (quick question)
Heroes, Vigilantes, Rogues, and Villains all have access to the Epic Power Pools at all times*. Patron Pools function the same as they always have -- you can't access them until you've done a Patron's arc**, which naturally requires you to be a full Villain in order to start the arc. Once the arc is completed, Patron Pools are accessible for that character regardless of future alignment.
*Villain archetypes get modified versions of the Hero Archetype pools. The rough mappings are: Brute->Tanker, Stalker->Scrapper, Corruptor->Blaster, Dominator->Controller (Masterminds seem to get some sort of hodge-podge from what I can tell).
**Any Patron's arc will unlock all of the Patron Pools.
"You don't lose levels. You don't have equipment to wear out, repair, or lose, or that anyone can steal from you. About the only thing lighter than debt they could do is have an NPC walk by, point and laugh before you can go to the hospital or base." -Memphis_Bill

So, you have to be a FULL villain to do the Patron pools? A Rogue won't do?
...
Well, SOMEBODY on my roster's gonna have to bounce back for a bit...

OK... just to verify...
So if I'm only concerned with my Vigilantes and Rogues having access to the Epic Power Pools (i.e. the ones like the original Hero Power Pools), they just get access to all of them automatically?
However, if I want the Villain Patron Pools I have to go full Villain, do any Patron mission chain, then all Patron Power Pools are unlocked for that character (regardless of future alignment)?
All correct?

Otherwise, yes.
Yep. As soon as you hit 41, you have access to all your AT's APPs regardless of alignment.
Rogues should be able to do it too, they have access to all other villain content. My dominator certainly didn't lose the arc (she was halfway through) when she turned Rogue, and they unlocked fine when I finished it. Otherwise, yes. |
Blazara Aura LVL 50 Fire/Psi Dom (with 125% recharge)
Flameboxer Aura LVL 50 SS/Fire Brute
Ice 'Em Aura LVL 50 Ice Tank
Darq Widow Fortune LVL 50 Fortunata (200% rech/Night Widow 192.5% rech)--thanks issue 19!

Corruptors get Defender pools, and Masterminds get Blaster pools (sorta).
Otherwise you got it.

For the record, VEATs do NOT get access to any Hero epics, for some reason. Sucks, because I'd love Superior Conditioning and Physical Perfection...

They have access to Patron pools, though.
One caveat. As a Rogue you can't START the arc for patron pools. If you were a villain when you started it you should still have access, as you stated.

EDIT: I hate it when I only get half of what I am thinking into my post - to finish my above thought, if you have tested this and rogues cannot start the patron arcs then, barring dev confirmation that this is by design, I would consider it a bug and bug it as such.

We just need the "Name Brand Heroes" on the blue side offer patron arcs so that those "Arrrrr Peeeers" can have access without having to "go Evil"

well this is great help and clearification because i am viglante right now a level 32 vig actually and someone said last night you couldn't guess when i get to fourty i can test this theory out
Just to confirm, my scrapper had to go full-blown villain to be able to get the Patron-Arc missions started for the Mu Mastery line. Just running around the Isles being a Rogue isn't enough.

Vigilantes cannot do the Patron Arcs. Rogues (we think) can.
I took my Praetorian Demons/Dark MM to the Isles and then switched to Rogue as soon as I could (very low 20s). Once I got into the 40s I decided to unlock the patron powers and I was able to pick Ghost Widow and do her first arc (the one that gives you access to patron powers) without changing back to Villain. I haven't done her second arc yet but I assume I could if I wanted to now that I hit level 45.
As far as I know, Rogues can do every single mission Villains can (except for Villain tip / alignment missions obviously) and Vigilantes can do every mission Heroes can (again, not counting Hero tips / alignment missions).
Cascade, level 50 Blaster (NRG/NRG since before it was cool)
Mechmeister, level 50 Bots / Traps MM
FAR too many non-50 alts to name

And actually, you can do the tips all you want, you just want to avoid the Morality Missions. (Although I believe you are given a choice at the end)
So let's say I'm a level 37 Hero and I do the missions and become a Vigilante (and stay one). I level into the 40s and want to take some powers from a Hero Epic Power Pool. Do I have access to the Hero Epic Power Pools (or can I, as a Vigilante, quest to unlock them or however it's done... never taken Epic Power Pool powers before heh)? ...or do I have to go back to being a Hero, unlock them, then go back to being a Vigilante?
Same question for the Villain Side... say I'm a level 37 Villain and go Rogue then level into the 40s. Can I as a Rogue do the quests to unlock the Villain Epic Power Pools (patron powers, whatever they're called)? ...or do I have to go full Villain again, unlock them, then go back to Rogue?
Thanks a ton in advice for any info!
