  1. ...!

Ah, there we go. Wow. I never even looked at that before. XD; Thanks!
  2. Well, I certainly haven't felt like such a newb in awhile, but here goes.

I just hit my first year anniversary for CoH, got my shiny new 12 month badge, and all that fun stuff.

Truth be told, I haven't paid much mind to when I've gotten my previous rewards, just that they have come into effect a few weeks after I realized I'd hit them. However, besides the badge, I haven't gotten any sort of notification on the Reward powers, nor any way to select anything, etc...

Is there a certain amount of time after the anniversary date that they go into effect, are they supposed to be at the same time as the badge, or what? >_>

    Just curious.
  3. ...

    *gives you the Internet*

Would you believe I was hoping against hope someone would go there?
  4. See, this is what happens when you let all those ruffians in from Rogue Isles...

    Or Praetoria kidnapped them.
  5. Not the Doomsday Patch.

    The Chuck Norris Patch.
  6. This has actually been happening to me on occasion with my Ninjas, even pre-Demons.
  7. So, you have to be a FULL villain to do the Patron pools? A Rogue won't do?

    ...

Well, SOMEBODY on my roster's gonna have to bounce back for a bit...
  8. So, when I came into the game, I was lucky. I had a really good friend who showed me the ropes, first hand; running a bunch of missions with me, giving me constructive critiques for my playstyle, how to place slots and enhancements effectively and at what levels, and ... what powers to choose and when.

Had I not had that, it would have been a good amount of time - and likely at a point when I had no respecs - until I realized the importance of the Fitness Pool.

A LOT of newbies, especially coming in at GR? Aren't going to realize this either, at first. And it can BE such a crippling thing in some instances, with some powersets and builds, that it really is almost a requirement on a LOT of builds.

Really, having to take Fitness is why I haven't gotten a LOT of characters in my first year to top over 20. I like Scrappers, for instance, but they require their Defenses, Resistances, and Mez Protection oftentimes as soon as you can work them in. And thus they are not left with a lot of options for what they're good at.

    You know.

    Attacking.

My early Scrappers are LUCKY if they have a third attack before Level 22, besides Brawl. And that... is sucky. It's not a fun way to play, and it can be an absolutely miserable grind until that point.

So if I can get a good third of my power choices freed up in the first 20 levels? That is absolutely outstanding.

CoH's appeal for me, personally, over other MMOs I've tried is its level of customization; but that there was ALWAYS that one absolute necessity of having to take at least those three powers? Has always added just a touch of blandness to the early proceedings.

Provided it's implemented well enough, I can't wait for it; in fact, it makes me inclined to not really even work on many new characters until its out, as rolling new characters with this in place is a MUCH more exciting prospect.
  9. Well, you can tint the fire around Hellfire Demonlings/Gargoyles ... so that's a start, right? ;;;
  10. Longest for me was a day.

Mind you, one has to keep in mind, they're probably extra bogged down right now with the influx of activity.
  11. So, how quickly will this one devolve into a moralistic debate? Place yer bets now!

Neither strikes me as better or worse when it comes to building a character. It all depends on what you want to do with the character and what path best fits within their mindsets.

This one off the top of my head. Plus, like I said, I've seen a few comments here & there in-game. And I think someone was talking about Masterminds .. SOMEWHERE on the forums, but damned if I can remember where off-hand.

It is, indeed, quite dumb, but I was just curious if anyone had seen anything else themselves.

Oh, no, I haven't heard it in Praetoria.

Sorry if I wasn't clear - it wasn't me that experienced it, as I haven't been in position to yet. XD; It's comments I've seen from both people on here and in game.
  14. So since GR I've mainly been tooling around Praetoria and running Tip Missions to get my characters where I want 'em with what I want them to have access to.

I've seen a couple comments here and there, though, about one side or another taking issue with cross-faction ATs in their teams. ("You got redside in my blueside!" "You got blueside in my redside!") From small quibbles like Blue players complaining about Mastermind pets, to Red/Blue ATs not getting buffs in opposite-faction teams.

O_o; Is this turning out to be a consistent thing anywhere, or is this just a few people taking things too far?
  15. My worst had to have been ... a few months back. Synapse TF.

I'm on my main, a BS/Elec Scrapper, then in his early-40s, but of course exemped down for the TF. It was during Double XP Weekend, so I was trying to push to get him to at LEAST Level 45 so I could start Hami raiding.

So I went scouting for some TFs and ended up in this one. I mean, it's fairly simple in concept -lots of missions, lots of mobs, lots of XP.

The leader is a Shield Tank, there's one other Scrapper and ... everyone else is Dual Pistol Blasters. For the most part, MOST of the team pulls their weight. Having so many DPs wasn't even a problem; start stacking their status effects, and we're right as rain.

There was something off, though, as I noticed the mobs were going every which way. It started to feel like I could hold aggro better than the TANK, and it's not like I have Confront or anything. So I check his powers... no Taunt, despite the fact he's up around Level 35 or so. I watch for the next mob, and indeed, he charges in, and the mob just scatters in all directions.

See, at this point I should have said something, or opted out. But I was only in the game for four months at that point, and a bit nervous about putting my foot down - even as the further I go into the TF, I'm well aware our Tank leader has no bloody idea what he's doing, either in the TF, or the AT he's playing.

Two hours from THAT point (yes, it took that long, as I am stubborn about finishing my TFs), after our glorious leader nearly wet himself when Babbage showed up, we finally get to the Clockwork King. The Tank, unfortunately, rushes in first, and... the King and his immediate surrounding minions run. In different directions.

We have to chase him through two mobs and up a flight of stairs before he finally drops.

But we still have to beat the enemies that were around him when we first charged in. Which meant... hunting THOSE down.

It was like an Easter Egg hunt.

    But with Clockwork.

And it is on that day that I learned the folly of keeping quiet.
  16. Also, every copy of CoH before came with a free month, right? So this... is essentially similar there. XD;

The third movies made too much money for them to quit.

But, on the topic at hand...

    The... movie is going to likely take place largely in Europe ANYHOW. So. Eh. XD;
  18. Ran Hami raid on Virtue. I THINK it seemed to go well enough...
  19. Took Flurry.

On a Scrapper with a drawn weapon.
  20. Infinity Blade

    Nerf Demons

I love me some Demon Summoning, but, yeah.

    Very noisy pets, they are.
  21. DS/Dark, and... actually taking the whip powers.

Well, yes, it will be. When you can purchase it.

Keep in mind, Paragon Studios is in Central Time Zone, too. It's only 10:30AM there. Even IF it's supposed to release today, that's still a LOT of time left in the day.

And it's SURELY going to be long before the July release date of GR, so...

Yes, it will be early access.
