All Things Art: 'Lost' Costume Pieces
Going back to actual 'lost' items again, I've been wanting the original Pointy Ears of the old 'Heads with Pointy Ears' head back ever since they replaced them with the new ear system. If you could make some 'Pointy Ears' for the new ear system that are shaped like the old Pointy Ears, I'd be grateful. (They might stand a -little- refinement -- the old ones really did have a very sharp point that made them look a bit low-poly, but very small tweaks only!)
I did see one other post earlier in this thread about them, but the ears in the shots were mostly covered by hair. Here's a shot showing the original 'Pointy Ears' as well as one showing the current 'Elf Ears' for comparison. Looking at them from the side, with the head in profile, is the way to really see the differences that make the Elf Ears unappealing, as a substitute. (To me, anyway.) First, the old, original Pointy Ears: Then the new, current Elf Ears: And don't you DARE take away the ability to use this hairstyle and the tiara together! I can accept the slight clip, really. I'd be really, REALLY unhappy to suddenly not be able to use these to create this look anymore. |

I just want to chime in with my +1s on:
The old style flared top thigh-high boots.
Two patterns on Pants options (I have several characters that I don't DARE open in Icon, for fear of losing their much loved dual-patterned looks).
Pointy Ear head ears.

The old array of colors we had to choose from originally would be nice.
Removing every single flesh toned color from the game ruined costumes for a lot of us just because there were Ken and Barbie nudists running around.
If there can be bondage items added to the costume generator and straps/shreds that leave little to the imagination then I don't see why flesh tone colors would hurt the game at all.
Please put them back.

Because in 21st century society you can depict murder, torture, violence and anger to a young audience but a hint of a female nipple or a sexual organ is outrageous.
Depictions of the taking of life is fine, but showing the physical appendages human beings use to create life is apparently wrong.
Go figure.
Thelonious Monk
Indeed it is along with these killer boots.
Both parts from the Lebeaux sister's costumes which are just made of awesome parts. Oh what I would do for this costume. |
One other thing, I like the new gladiator shoulder pad EXCEPT the texture. It doesn't go well with my sleek costumes. Please either bring back the old one or at least give us a sleek texture (or metallic even) for the new one. Also, I think someone else mentioned this but, shouldn't the gladiator pad be on the other shoulder for a right-handed fighter? (i.e. to protect the shoulder and neck above the gladiator's shield.)
Oh, and I totally agree and bringing back the old thigh high boots.
I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or not, but didn't there used to be a Monstrous Fur pattern under Lower Body -> Tights? During a recent character creation, I could only find Monstrous Fur under Lower Body - > Monstrous Legs. The Monstrous Fur tights option should be put back (or added if it never existed).
Also, any chance of getting the Blue Steel Shield back? According to Paragonwiki, it existed during the I13 closed beta, but was removed for unknown reasons. It is still in the game, as it can be used by critters in Architect. |

Does it count as a "missing" costume piece that the Resistance shoulders are not usable with any of the Robotic Arms torsos?
Samuel_Tow is the only poster that makes me want to punch him in the head more often when I'm agreeing with him than when I'm disagreeing with him.

I was also bummed to find resistance shoulder pads didn't work with robotic arms. That single shoulder pad would look so good with robot arm 3.
Also Council Acendants(sp?) have a rather cool gun. Could we get that added to AR and Mercs?
Also under jackets there is a small vest, could we get that vest copied over to shirts. The shirt category has way way more glove options then jackets. The shirt category allows you to apply way way more tight options to the arms (with jackets and short sleeves you can add none. The small vest does allow you to use show chest emblems which shirts doesn't allow. Coping the small vest to shirts seems like a great way to open up a lot of costume possibilities.
Well, not sure if this was just overlooked or if there are issues with wearing a trench coat and the new PPD/Resistance shoulder pads and belts. At least the sleeveless option to the trench coat should allow for the new shoulder pads. The sleeveless jackets do. Seems like the trench coat option looses alot of other costume piece options. I, for one, would appreciate some improvements in this area. I love the darn trench, lol.
Also, different costume pieces to left and right sides of the body would be GREATLY appreciated. Not only does this add a new layer to character customization, but it is also helpful in clearing up various costume "overlapping" issues that tend to annoy me to no end, such as wearing a shoulder cape and single resistance shoulder pad and having part of the pad poke through the cape...if only i could put it on the other side. Anyway, just speaking my mind a bit. Thanks for making a great game by the way

Also unlock more belts for trenchcoat, like resistance and PPD.
I think trenchcoat should be moved to jackets and sleeveless jackets to have both versions where all the normal shoulder pads and gloves are avalaible to sleeveles version like it works with the jackets.
Like the tuxedo from the wedding pack.
This please.

The Task Force Commander accolade briefly unlocked a pair of shoulder epaulets. Essentially the same as the two spiked epaulets except... um, without the spikes. The normal epaulets vanished from the game a while back, for no discernible reason. I'm pretty sure I've seen at least one NPC wearing them.
|
I know because I just put them on my Dominator turned hero when I saw the part unlock upon granting the accolade.
So no need to bring it back, but I say EXPAND IT'S AVAILABILITY. PPD get to have them on tights, no need to restrict our options in that regard.
Put them on every type of top they can manage, I'd be happy.

I mentioned this in the other thread, and I'm not sure it's precisely a missing piece. However I will say it again here.
Male/Huge characters get the Resistance skull cap as a Hat option.
Female characters do not. They get two hairstyles, but no hat.
Female NPCs in Praetoria have the hat and it's seen quite often.
If you decided not to give it to female characters for some kind of parity rule (2 Hairstyles for female/ 1 hairstyle + 1hat for males) rethink that decision please.
I think we as players are less worried about male/female parity in costume additions than we are avoiding arbitrary restrictions. We know for a long time females had more choices and it's been a departmental effort to deal with that. It's fine really to have a few extra options here and there. As long as you don't spend half a year only coming out with female costume parts, no one is going to be bugged.

I'm not sure if it was mentioned yet since I only skimmed through about half of this thread, but I'd really like to see the old mandible again. I used that on so many costumes and was pretty sad to see it go in place of the new skull like mandible. Here is a few pictures I have of the old style mandible:

GG, I would tell you that "I am killing you with my mind", but I couldn't find an emoticon to properly express my sentiment.

Add me as another +1 for getting the wings/bolero coat combination back. If I can have wings with the wedding tux's tails, why the devil can't I have them with that bolero? One would seem to be just as much of a strain on the system as the other.
I'd also like to have the older, not-so-grim faces back. Re-using the same handful of more benign faces over and over again bothers me, but currently it's the only way around having a toon that perpetually looks like someone dropped a rikti monkey in his wheaties.
@Brightfires - @Talisander
That chick what plays the bird-things...
Add me to the call for the return of the Malaise pattern.
Not so much 'lost', but 'still missing', the VEAT costume creator is often forgotten when new pieces are added to the game.
Arachnos Soldiers are missing faces. Male faces 14-22 and female faces 16-30. Male and huge soldiers do not have access to the current Alpha or Omega Auras, but instead have access to the older versions of Alpha and Omega that were tested before the current version. Female soldiers have no access to either form of Alpha/Omega Aura.
Widows seem to have access to all of the current faces, and all body types use the old Alpha/Omega auras instead of the new ones.
