I find it odd that while I wasn't all that nuts over not being in closed beta yet I am more excited about the release date announcement than if I had gotten an invite this week.
Of course I still need to figure out what I am going to do first on August 17.

You probably are NOT going to get an invite to the beta.
Also: making a thread that you are NOT in the beta pretty much also is a straight guarantee that you will not be INVITED to the beta.
