Super Booster V - Mutant Theme Costume Sets: Feedback
Any word on when this is coming out? I'd really been hoping for yesterday. I wonder if they are delaying it so they can do the 'with skin' option, which I would want.
The biolum stuff actually looks awesome, from what I've seen. Your screenshots included.
It's just the organic armor stuff that looks so clunky and overwrought.
As with all booster packs, there is at least one piece per pack that is a must-have for me, and this will justify my purchase of the pack as a whole. In this case it is the new wings; I would buy this pack for them alone.
[The only time this has not held true for me was with the Cyborg pack; still not sure why I bought that thing.]
Concerns here:
1. The Bioluminescent pattern is not avaliable on tights, nor is it tintable apart from the face. Body and face are forced to be the same color. All the time. Ugh. This is a SERIOUS DETRIMENT and will limit my use of this costume by probably 97%. This pattern needs to be a Tights option ASAP.
2. The Organic Armor luminous patches need to be brighter, due to their much smaller size than the luminous patches on Bioluminescent. The tiny patches all but disappear due to dimness.
3. Why is the new female foot model so HUGE....? I thought this problem would be confined to the Witch boot, but I guess not. The male boots look great as usual. The female boots.... not so much.
I agree that the old Stiletto boot form was too tiny, but must we swing quite so far in the other direction....? Better too tiny than too big.
As for animal parts: I am uninterested in creating catgirls, or anyone else who wears allover fur for that matter. That particular issue leaves me colder than a stone. What are seriously needed in another booster are dragon, lizard, cat, dog etc. heads that are NOT the ugliest thing ever possibly dreamed up by an art department; animal heads currently in-game, I am looking at every last one of you fugly things when I say that! PLease include an Egyptian-style canine head, thank you. I want beautiful and dangerous-looking animal-style heads which can be placed on the human tights form.
New, prettier additions to the Monstrous leg form would not come amiss either. I view both the old hooves and the old paws as hideous, something new and useable would be a great deal of fun.
With that said I look forward to using these new pieces in-game, my Mutation Stalker is going to be delirious with joy.

Second look, this looks alright... but not perfect, however. This is not acceptable from a professional. There isn't even an attempt to make the head flow with the rest of the body. This should be fixed before release! See the back? The head looks like it should continue onto the back with the plating, this is eve more clear with the side view. However it just cuts off. I could understand if you made it tapper off at the scheme, but to not have it tapper off and not even connect with the matching body, that is some poor work if it is the final. If this is not fixed for the final I will seriously consider not buying this pack. |

Wolf tails to be added to the Mutant Booster. On-topic to this thread, Friday's build will include the missing pieces of the Mutant Booster (i.e. the swords) as well as woofietail.

Maybe this is a sign of things to come!
I looked at the new costume options and they look very nice. I can appreaciate the work that went into them. Good work there. The basic organic secondary colors are just a little to small for my taste and do not show up well enough to make me jump up and down.
I would like to join the rest and ask for the Bio Lumi glow stripes to be allowed on tights. Instead of only this skin effect.
I have seen some good costume idea's and combo's but I am still on the fence as to how they will fit with my current and future concepts. I saw one fire concept glow that looked really good. But I am not sure there is enough of a draw for my character concepts. Which is sad since 90% of my characters are mutant origin.
When I heard a Mutant pack was coming out I had really hoped for the skin steel look. Like Colossus, Life Guard, Mr Sinister etc. Our metallic looks nice but it either needs options to loose the seams, have a lot more or have them glow.
We have a similar look in the Robotic glove and matching robotic arms with the banded segmented look but thats the only place you can see this look. The Banded options are nice and I like them but they complete a different look. Can't stand the Banded tops chest blotches. Having this as an option body wide would be cool.

Feedback on BioLum faces:
OH GOD THE EYES, WHY WOULD YOU MAKE THE EYES LIKE THAT?!
Seriously! I was clicking through the faces to find the new face, and when it came up I literally screamed and jumped away from my monitor. They're HIDEOUS.

I made a quick fix example to the Bio Armor. I am very busy right now actually so I could only do one point of view and did a very poor job, but this, or something similar would be worlds better.

Side note though. I would strongly suggest that lines of internal communications are streamlined somewhat so that you don't have to play catch up next time. When we saw the initial announcement for Pack testing, I'm guessing most folks thought that Test was previewing everything that was to be available.I'd think we'd have been able to avoid some gnashing of teeth.

Test what you're given, and if it passes muster ask if that's everything. Making assumptions just leads to unneeded sturm and drang, as some posts above make clear.
They very often don't go into full detail because they're working a build or two ahead internally anyway. This is nothing new and people just need to remember that. Information for the people testing is nice, but not necessary most of the time.

Ok David, tough love time.
This set looks like a retooled Cyborg pack. The way the armor twists, the parts that are exposed inbetween, mimics the Cyborg boots and gloves.
I would have to agree that the costume team is kinda stuck on a narrow path. I have yet to see something "out of the box" when it comes to costume parts.
The players pump their hard earned money into this game, yet it seems like their voices are constantly snubbed when it comes to costume parts. Threads are posted for ideas and suggestion, yet they are pointless as they never come to fruition.
love,
Hawk.
I don't know if this has been said or not, I haven't had time to read through all the thread or forums to see but I just thought I'd get this suggestion out there, hoping that something might become of it.
The Organic Armor body and legs for females could easily be given body/legs with skin versions, replacing what is the primary color of the "under" part of the armor as the skin, and making the metallic armor parts the colored sections. Also a small covering part could be added to the upper arms parts and leg parts that connect to the knees, easily meshing them with the gloves and boots design and still using the single color that is only allowed for "with skin" sections. I think this would be a great addition to the already impressive set, and I hope enough people feel the same way that we may be able to inspire the devs to make this happen, bringing further value to the upcoming booster set.
I like the way both look overall. BUT for the organic armor to really work it seriously needs to allow us to choose from the skin color options imo. It doesn't look like a true organic armor since it doesn't appear to be erupting from the skin since its dang well impossible to match the colors up right. I have a character this would be perfect for but I tend to have him run about shirtless. The face is great! Now please please please let us have it look that way for the rest of the body too!
Bio lum I would like much better if it was just a pattern I could apply similar to Isles and Tribal. I have a radioactive mutant who would look fantastic with that pattern glowing out of his skin, but I don't care for the scaley skin around it at all.
Subjective:
I have to agree with others who say that the elements in this pack don't follow what superhero comic readers associate with the term "mutant." It all looks more demonic -- along the lines of the Devilman Live-Action movie, or various sentai monsters.
Not that I have anything against that stuff -- why, even American superhero comics have been emulating sentai lately (thinking of the new Blue Beetle being something of a Guyver knockoff). It's just... not exactly what the name suggested.
*edit: Now that I've tried to make something out of it... I'm not sure I'll ever have a use for most of this stuff, and that's very rare. Most of it's just too noisy. Even sloppy-looking, to the point that I wince at the thought of having to look at all the ugly toons that may wind up roaming the streets after this is released. Wondering also if some of these bits were swept up rejects from the grossly-ornamented Aion or Lineage games...
I hate to be so negative, but... eww.
plz plz plz some1 tell me they didn't forget to show some love for Claw weapons??? Tintable Bone and Organic so needs to be apart of this. Can u imagine how bad@$$ one would look with those things shootin out of your wrists??? Talk about "Mutant"

Edit: And Bio and Organic Monsterous Feet options. I was expecting them to be there.
