Release notes for build 1800.201005212331.2T.

COMBINED

Powers

General

  • Fixed a bug that caused many critters with ranged attacks to change behavior and prefer melee range, including Rikti Drones and most Mastermind pets. Critters should behave as they used to again.
  • Fixed a bug with the Blackwand power drawing from the ground and planting the player vs. just drawing the weapon normally.
  • Players may once again choose to not accept or decline the Mystic Fortune buff power.
  • Shield Defense (all) – characters will no longer walk on air when jumping with a shield drawn.

PVP
  • Fiery Aura Fiery Embrace will no longer cause Travel Suppression in PVP
  • Teamwork/Mind Link will no longer cause Travel Suppression in PVP
  • Telekinesis in the Ancillary pools should now behave the same in PVP as standard versions and no longer repel players.

Invention
  • The Backup Radio temp power now has only 5 charges as intended.

Mission Architect
  • Fixed an issue with enemies disappearing when using "The Fab" unique map.
  • Fixed a bug where pets would malfunction when using “The Fab ” and “Grandville” unique maps.
  • Fixed pathing problems in the first room in the Vanguard Base (Interior) map.
  • Guest Author: Quest for Magic: The last objective map icon will now work.
  • It is no longer possible to create an un-completeable mission with defendable objects.
  • Guest Author: Stolen Legacy Part 2 and Part 3: Correct some typos in the contact text.

Flashback
  • Fixed a bug that allowed players to get mission completion awards multiple times.

Tasks
  • Lady Gray Task Force: Reduced the Green Mitos’ hold protection from magnitude 53 to magnitude 10.
  • Fixed a bug where the last objective of a mission will still be marked if the player resets the mission and starts over.

Badges
  • Fixed a bug that caused only Wolf Spider minions to count towards the Spider Smasher badge.

Tailor
  • Put back the Braided Buns hairstyle option from the Martial Arts pack, which had temporarily gone missing.

City Zones
  • Midnighter Club – Fixed a bug that sometimes caused characters to get stuck in the ground when moving between the Midnighter Club and Cimerora. The previous fix stopped working as soon as a player took a pet through the portal, and would not start working again until the shard was restarted.

Chat
  • Some players using the “chat hidden” setting were getting chat banned without knowing it when auto-replies to other players were sent out too rapidly. Players with the “chat hidden” setting turned on will no longer auto-reply to other players.

Arenas
  • The Observer camera now properly flies again.

Emotes
  • The drink emote will no longer cause female characters to slide back and forth.

Gameplay
  • Fixed a rare crash bug in Supergroup bases.

CITY OF HEROES

Powers

Controllers
  • Dispersion Bubble inadvertently set to affect a maximum of 16 targets. Corrected to a max of 255.

Defenders
  • Dispersion Bubble inadvertently set to affect a maximum of 16 targets. Corrected to a max of 255.

Scrappers
  • Broadsword and Shield Defense – the Head Splitter power will no longer play the Air Superiority attack animation when flying with a shield readied.
  • Katana – Weapon draw animations now work correctly again.

Tasks
  • Faultline – The Safeguard mission in this zone now correctly starts at a PPD van instead of a cave entrance.
  • Positron Task Force Part 1: The final mission door is now located in trams instead of an office building.
  • Katie Hannon Task Force – in the “Defeat Mary MacComber” mission, the successive waves attacks did not increase in difficulty as intended. This has been fixed.

CITY OF VILLAINS

Powers

Masterminds
  • Demon Summoning/Crack Whip – the description was corrected to state Knockdown instead of Knockback.

Tasks
  • Good Villains Never Die (Part 2): Fixed a bug where the name for the final boss in the task, "Find Thomas Mane" was labeled incorrectly.
  • Good Villains Never Die: Adjusted Leonard’s location to make him slightly easier to get to.

Shame you don't come clean about some other AE nerfs/tweaks you made.

I honestly don't think these are the only things you guys did to AE with this patch.

They never post notes when a fix is to change an exploit.

So it was actually deemed more annoying to occasionally get a buff that you didn't ask for than to have to click that pop-up message every time someone cast the power on you? Or was this fixed in some other way, like the option to decline teleports?

They do post notes when that patch goes to the live servers. Or they are supposed to.

Not yet, back to annoyance for now.

Either way is going to annoy some players, so I believe they put it back to 'the way it was' until a superior fix could be put in place. Arguements hold weight on both sides. I prefer the 'no prompt', but alas, I suspect, we will get a prompt option sometime...just, as always, requires patience.

Good choice. We were all wondering how come Atlas is located in building.

By the way, were some changes made to Ultra Mode?
Suddenly I can play in Ultra mode (low to medium settings) and when I tried accessing it on test my computer said: „Are you kidding?“ and turn off.

Green Mitos finally fixed, Much appreciated to Castle for sorting that out.

Finally it allows more players to get the MoLGTF badge, good stuff! <3.

So much this. I got it on "hard mode" but it required 4 controllers on the team. I had to turn people down from my MoLGTF because of what AT they played, and that goes against everything I stand for.

Hmm. Did you intend to make the raid version of the Green Mitos perma-held?

[Mitochondria Healer Powers.Resistance] is now at +50 Hold, and there's a new _Mission version that gives -57 Hold, for a total of -7 (+base) for the "Mission" Mitos.

I haven't checked closer, but unless the raid Mitos also get the _Mission power, then it seems like they would be perma-held. If, on the other hand, they too get the _Mission power, then why create a new power in the first place?

Funny how in a previous thread you had stated you would "NEVER" turn "any" player away based on their AT. Welcome to the wonderful world of hypocrisy.

i'd thank the devs but given this would have never happened if the mitos weren't "fixed" in the first place... it's good to have a more sensible mag applied to the mitos for an 8 person TF.

As an aside, I would have been fine with the mag 53 if the lgtf were given a much higher merit reward (maybe 35 to 40 merits?). What ever happened to risk VS Reward?

They were bugged, not working as intended, kinda speaks for itself that they would fix that once they found out ...

Pretty sure I said I wouldn't ever turn someone away for the powers they've chosen. In contrast is your statement from that thread, that you would *kick* a /kin from the team if he didn't have or even use SB as often as you'd like.

My rule of "Any build, any budget, no exclusions" remains, but for one TF, I had to reserve four spots on the team for controllers/dominators. I didn't specify which kind, and I didn't even bother to specify that they had holds.

Great rule. I play by that as well. Didn't bother with the MoLGTF yet though.

This would assume that changes they make to prevent exploiting in AE to be some sort of underhanded activity... which it isn't.

Let's all keep in mind that Devs don't have to discuss these changes with us at all, nor do they need to detail them for us. They do it because they care about the player base, as a whole, as more than just revenue generators, an uncommon practice with most MMORPGs and certainly rare for one walking towards it's 7-year mark.

It's 106 miles to Grandville, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing faceless helmets

Any word yet on MM pets randomly swapping names?

Or the door marker on the third mission of Seer Marino's arc getting fixed.

My first short story (detective fiction) came out in Jan-2012. Other stories and books to follow, I hope. Because of "real writing". COH was a big part of that happening.
