What does the WoW app do?

If Blizzard could get wow on to the back of bathroom stalls they would! Champions needs all the help they can get for that sinking ship... As far as playing coh on a phone... eek! Imagine going through cot caves on a phone screen YIKES!!! it's bad enough on a regular screen!! lol

People have previously suggested everything from a (offline) costume creator app, to a market watch ticker, to full game access before. I recall someone managed to get remote desktop through their iPhone to play CoH... at about 5fps. All they could really do was access Wentworth's, and even that can be difficult at 5fps.
I think it'd be cool, but I also don't have any kind of smart phone to use it with

Also, some of my suggestions for the application would make it more of a companion instead of a new addition to the game itself. News updates, server status, patch updates and issues, as well as easy access to the forums. I have a few apps like facebook (shudders), fml, and texting while intoxicated that are daily checks. Also to be able to log onto my account to check out my toons and see their power sets to show off to other people. Champions Online, while I don't like the gameplay, has a very good app that lets players view their toons. Costume Creator on the phone would be neat, but would also prolong this. I would like other deals too that parawiki offers like maps, guides and whatnot. But those are just a few ideas I have.

I think it would be cool to have a character creator - live preferably 
. Baexally let you select server/side/at, etc. All the way to tutorial Y/N and if no, AP or galaxy. No farther, but would be nice. And/or some tlbal chat app, perhaps. EQ used to have a standalone "IM" client you cold use to connect to the global channels.

simple thing to do. Do a remote connection from your phone to your computer and start the game from there. It will render on the computer but send you the image on the phone.
Thats how whoever managed to access WW did from their Iphone.

CoH doesn't really have much to put in an app that wouldn't be covered by a fansite. The online portal that was promised last year (or two years ago) would fit but it's vapor (and probably won't happen at all IMO. Just seemed too ambitious). If I remember right, it was supposed to be along the lines of what Champions has, where you could access all of your characters and their relevant info and slotting and such. THAT would make for a decent app (since that's basically what Champions' app does).
Yes, the luddites can use their web browsers to surf over to cohtitan/Paragon Wiki but an app would be faster (assuming it's halfway decently made). But CoH isn't conducive to that kind of functionality (i.e. there's no point).

Here is an article about what other MMOs are doing with their iPhone apps. To any dev who might see this, or other players who aren't sure what an app could do, the article gives a decent look-see into what people want and what companies are doing.
Maybe I am the first person to suggest this, maybe not. I haven't heard anything at all. WoW has an app, Champions Online has an app, so.... when does City of Heroes get an app? Don't get me wrong, I love all the improvements CoX has made to the game, but I would like an app for my "mobile device" so that I can, well for lack of better words, just have one. I wish that I had the resources to create one to send to the CoX team but for now I guess all we can do is a poll. How many would like an app for our game, how many would not like an app, and how many are indifferent? Thanks, Primordia Vox.
