Who Shall Be Your First Incarnate?
Likely my Fire/Fire Dominator. She's the only character in my stable for whom I've pulled out all the stops, where money is no object, etc. She is also one of the only 50s I have that I will consistently return to and play just for the hell of it.
That said, it really depends what the system is like. If she'd get little benefit from it relative to the costs of getting Incarnate levels, I'd find it hard to justify the time spent earning them. I'll know for sure when we learn more.
The Ballad of Iron Percy
I'm going to be Rotten here...
Really! I'm taking my Willpower/Dark Melee/Energy mastery Rotten Luck and pushing him as far as I can.
So yes he be the first to get Incarnate level 1. When ever Issue 19 goes live go to incarnate 10.
I would also make him vigilante he really don't care about Law and order heck he don't really care about good and evil either. Just the bad guys annoy him more so he's a Hero.
It will depend mainly on what I need to do to get an Incarnate. If it has a raid or other team-only requirement, then probably none of my characters will do that.
If the process is solo friendly, then I'd want my Ice/Ice/Cold blaster Yukihime to become an Incarnate. However, I might have my MA/Regen/Dark scrapper Suiren go first just to test the waters.
On the villain side, my Energy/Regen stalker Risommer would probably be the the best choice. But I'd also consider my Thugs/Dark/Soul mastermind Cerise Sinclair, depending on what the Incarnate system is like.
Blazing Tiger of course. ^_^

Take a wild guess . Hint; She's pink
I will probably have 2 maybe 3 toons that will become Incarnate. First will be a toss-up between my Elec/Shield scrapper and my Arch/MM Blaster. Depending how things go now I'll have a lvl 50 Fire/Shield scrapper to use as well.

I honestly don't know enough to answer.
My tendency has to always be throw Scarlet Shocker in at the deep end and get the newest shiny stuff, but I'm certainly not entirely keen on her being elevated to "god-hood" or anything like that.
For me (and this is a personal PoV of course) being a hero is standing up for what you believe in, against the odds, when you're outgunned, outnumbered and in the mire - and Scarlet has been the essence of that in many ways. So if the Incarnate end-game system toughens her up I'm concerned it could diminish how I, as her player, perceive her.
Thelonious Monk
My earth/storm controller Pachamama is named after an Inca goddess so I suppose she'd make the most sense from an RP standpoint.
In reality, I have no idea what the system involves or offers aside from "moar powah!" Assuming there's nothing stopping me from using it to just give my AR/Dev blaster more umph in her attacks or more survivability, I'll get any serious character there eventually whether it "makes sense" or not. I'm not going to stall out characters I enjoy just because "Incarnate" doesn't make sense for them; I'll just fanwank it away.
most likely Kinetic Impact, one of my stalkers, because i expect to see him hit 50 before my namesake does.
Chat Handle: @Aether Crash -- Guardian
Heroes:
Zkorva the Exiled (50) , Squallshot Maiyamin, Aether Crash, Vhogge the Skyshaper
Villains: Katsuo Tentei (50), Lumilian Dhosan, The Cobalt Tempest, Executioner Adan
Mercs/Traps.
Katana/Fire scrapper
Plant/Psi Dominator
Claws/Inv Scrapper
Ice/Fire Dominator
In that order
The Story of a Petless MM with a dream
I have a 50 in every AT, but Scrappers and Dominators are my favorites.
No contest, my casually purpled and LotGed Warshade.
For any other characters it will depend on what it takes to get there and what it benefits the character.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
That would be my namesake MA/Regen. Ugh, I'd have to totally respec her too, which will be a pain, it's been around 4 years since she retired.
Of course, if they pull a dick move and make the Incarnate system into some kind of stupid raid grind on otherwise mandatory forced teaming, the answer to that question would be "nobody." In six years here, I've raided the Hamidon ONCE, and I have no desire to ever do it again. In that time, I've been at a ship raid twice, and I'm not interested in attending again. I've fought Lusca exactly once, and the other Giant Monsters I've fought I can count on the fingers of one hand. I did probably less than half a dozen TFs in all 2009, and I honestly didn't care to do more.
If there is no option to earn Incarnate points solo before I die of old age, I won't be getting any Incarnates. |
<--- Her. My Bots/Traps. She's already a team by herself. I really want to know what Incarnate will make her.
It'll be either my AR/Dev or my Traps/AR
Probably my Earth/Fire Permadom. If getting it is a team-heavy thing, I'd go for my Rad/Rad Defender first, just because she's my favorite to play, but I don't enjoy her solo.
Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.
I think it'll really depend on how the system works. If the difficulty bar is really set as high as seems to be being indicated, I'm not sure most of my characters will even qualify, and if any of them do, it'll probably be my Shield/Electric tank or my Fortunata, since they're the ones I have the most twinked out.
Assuming the system is a little bit more accessible, though, I'll probably try it with my Electric Brute first. He always been my favorite to try new high level content with, and the poor guy just ends up popping out of retirement for a week and then going right back so constantly.
My namesake, a Mind/FF on Champion.
Of course, a BIG +1 to Samuel_Tow. If it takes me weeks to months to switch sides, I'll ignore it and roll a new alt. If it takes me tons of raiding/pveing/grinding to become an Incarnate, I'll...have trouble here because of PvP aspects but I'm likely to find the new loot and trade/buy it.
The game as is has it so you can get fairly decent loot (Hamis are still ok) in a half hour to an hour. I'm not expecting Incarnate level stuff to be that easy to get, but...the longer I have to wait the quicker I'll get bored with the process and just do other stuff.
It's bad enough I still have to do patron arcs to get my epic powers redside...here's hoping the new stuff is at least streamlined and enjoyable.
Questions about the game, either side? /t @Neuronia or @Neuronium, with your queries!

Whether I even bother to make an Incarnate at all depends on a) how tedious it is, and b) what form the bonuses/rewards come in and c) when the bonuses apply.
a) I have a LOT of high level characters. I have 9-20 that "should" be incarnates. But if its not fun (zone events and task forces for the majority of the content wouldnt be fun to me) then I wont bother, because I find participation in such things tedious. Also, if it is a long slog and repetitive then I wont be able to do it.
b) The most important one is the bonuses/rewards. I was hoping for being able to earn bonus slots. That would have sold me immediately. But I'm thinking now that it may be crafted bonuses powers and some weird stuff that I've seen bandied about. It looks uber but absolutely uninteresting to me personally.
c) If the bonuses you earn only apply to the special post-50 content, then that will likely be even less of a reason for me to pursue it. Doing X to get more efficient at Doing X has never been compelling to me. If on the other hand these bonuses apply to the normal game, that will be a disaster, in that at that point, any level 50 who doesn't do the incarnate stuff will be obselete, and that will piss me off. So option C here looks likely to minimize or limit my involvement.
At the end of the day, here are the characters that I either like most or who "should" be incarnate level characters. This order reflects the order of my interest, so depending on how fun / compelling / tedious / obnoxious / essential / keeping up with the jonese / lame the Incarnates system is, I'll do some or all of these generally in the order of preference as listed:
Earth/Storm [CON]
Illusion/Storm [CON]
Fire/Trick Arrow [CON]
Earth/Rad [CON]
Dark Melee/Super Reflexes [SCR]
Storm/Energy [DEF]
Storm/Psychic [DEF]
Fire/Rad [CON]
Earth/TA [CON]
Earth/Energy [DOM]
Fire/Emp [CON]
Ice/Storm [CON]
Plant/TA [CON]
Anyway, I'm almost hoping I wont like it and that I won't feel compelled to bother. That way, I'd take only one or two (Earth/Storm or Illusion/Storm) through the system and skip the rest.
EDIT: also, as Sam and Mirai said, if it requires a teaming component, I won't do it at all, period.

I'll probably focus on characters with a distinct concept/power they seem to be based around.
1st: Dreameater, Mind/Psi dream/nightmare dominator. Psy or dark focus if possible, anything centering around fear, sleep, or the mind. (Dream incarnation)
2nd: Deathsman, EM/Dark brute: (Manipulates the energies of life and death) dark focus for his death vibe, if possible. (Death incarnation)
3rd: Ionaut, Kin/Elec defender, who can control ionic energy for speed/lightning powers. (Speed/energy/electricity incarnation)
After these? I can't think of many I'd life to be an 'incarnate' of anything. The trick is that I'm thinking of incarnates embodying something. I'm not sure if they will, or what becoming 'incarnate' entails, so we'll see before I make plans for anything else.
Either Green Flame Avenger, my badge Toon, Martial Art/Regen Scrapper or My Fire/Willpower Scrapper Burning B Radical.
Then Again I really like My SS/Wp Tanker Super Ratz..Oh man i can't make up my mine.

Rushmore, a Stone/Stone/Earth Tanker. Why? Because he's a teenager empowered by the Spirit of America to defend it. That's pretty much asking to be an Incarnate level of power!
He's also been known to have rock offs against demons with the Guitar of Liberty while the Statue of Liberty lights up her torch for real in the background, fight robotic NFL players and almost get deported from Cananda by trying to transform while singing the Team America theme. (His powers only work on US Soil.)
