Depending on how conservatively you define harassment or "griefing," no he wouldn't have that right. Personally, I would not define those terms in a way to include Sam's situation... but someone might.

I think there is a part asking that you treat other players respectfully though... I would have to look back over the EULA to know for sure.

I've hit the ignore list limit several times, on several characters.

All of it was due to RMT spammers. I don't bother putting actual players on the list (never did start, but I suspect sooner or later I would have) because I know that in a few months' time they'll have scrolled back off.

then that would make the game very boring and 95% of the boards empty.

There you have it folks. It can strike anyone at any moment. Be on guard.

Don't let noobness happen to you.

I am glad you came to terms. The first step is acceptance.

The global ignore list is all but useless to me, and that's all down to RMT spammers. I have the habit of not playing my characters for months, so oftentimes I'll come back to 150 spam e-mails all in my inbox. Hitting "Spam" on each of them fills up my ignore list several times over. Luckily, as soon as it gets full, the system will automatically remove someone from it to make room for the person I'm currently ignoring. I don't bother cleaning it up these days, not when it auto-cleans on new entries anyway.

That said, I don't put people on ignore by hand. I wouldn't put spammers on ignore, either, but the system does it automatically.

Well, true, there is that. But reporting spammers has an inexplicable charm all its own, too

I find explaining things in /tells to people who use contractions like 'u' is always a waste of time and effort.

But then again, what I consider 'rude' or indeed 'appropriate' is way outside the comfortable zone for most of the posters in this forum. WAY outside.

Really, I just have a chuckle over these folks - much like you have - and move along. Even one-starring them is usually not worth the time.

Quick hint for you:

Don't hit the Spam button when the "From" field says "empty". The "empty" means that account has already been banned, so just delete them, otherwise you're just filling up your ignore list with people you will never hear from again anyway.

I almost feel bad for some of the actual names I see on those emails, as opposed to "akjfhbgsdnkfushank", since they are hijacked accounts used for spamming purposes. I said I "almost" feel bad because they were stupid enough to do business with an RMT site and got their account jacked. tends to water down my sympathy level.

Ah, that explains why lately I've been seeing some actual-sounding toon names instead of "TouTou23" on some of those emails I've been getting.

Poor li'l foolish players! ;_;

I always thought "empty" meant the character was deleted, but not necessarily banned. I say this because I still have e-mails from my friend from a LONG time ago which are "empty" since they deleted the characters who sent them, but I know their accounts are not banned.

And then slowly drive the person in question mad with your incredibly Noobness.

"Come to MA Building in Atlas"
"Whats MA"
"Mission Architect"
"Where's Atlas?"
"You're in it"
"No, I'm in a city"
"Just come to the MA building"
"Where is it"
"On your map"
"I don't have map?"

Funniest was prob when i was in a team and we had a tank and another tank asked to join, and a person in team was like "don't invite two tanks just hurts more than it helps" and i was "let em join, team makeup don't matter unless it's a master of", bit of arguing ensued and the vet issue was brought up and i just laughed, then it took maybe 5 mins and i got a tell from the person "you've played this game for a long time you should know i'm right" they had apparently did a badge check hehe, i replied with something like "yea, and so i know any team makeup works", then the person got so rude so i just left the team and i immideatly got tells like "aww you ragequit?". Found it hilarious, pretty glad the ignore list doesn't seem to have a limit
Lucky! Mine does! I put RMT'ers on it!

There is a limit to the ignore list... I think it's 100? 150?

I consider putting RMT'ers on it a waste of space. They just constantly turnover their accounts anyway. I save my ignore list for the real players who deserve it... really, really deserve it... and I haven't hit the limit yet.

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside when I hear about players who play for fun and content. Go you, you are not a noob!

PS. - Players who have 60 something months vet rewards don't know it all, I am a prime example. I have Fog of War, but I forgot yesterday how to get to Faultline. *Shrugs

I still like putting them on it because I'm hoping that maybe I'll have rteported one that sent me that email only an hour ago and he'll get caught. Sure it only slows them down, but any pain for them I can inflict is a good thing, no matter how small. I think of it as trolling.
