[I17] Drastically reduced enhancements font

Master, yours is larger.

Now why is it super small for some (4 pixels), and more tolerable for others (6 pixels)?

BTW, even zoomed, that looks almost as much like 35 as 55.

I say everyone that doesn't like it should bug it every single time they log on until it is either fixed or someone confirms it is being worked on.

Like I said before, mine is not really "larger". It's the resolution you are using that decides how many pixels per inch, and therefore how many pixels high the number is for you.

Having more pixels does not make mine bigger. If you take a high resolution image and display it on a low resolution screen, it's going to look bigger.

Taking a picture from 2 different resolutions are going to appear different sizes when viewed size-by-side on the same screen, even though they would look the same size if viewed next to each other on their original monitors. The only difference would be quality, not size.

What resolution are you running?

1680x1050

As proof of concept, I took a screenshot of my full screen and resized it to a 1024x640, the numbers became 4 pixels high and unreadable, just like yours.

If you want better quality, you have to use a higher resolution, but it's not going to make it any bigger, and your performance in the actual game may drop.

Resolution is 1400x900, so a 50% increase is weird.

Saying it's a 50% increase is false-logic though. The actual value is based on some decimal that is rounding to that number of pixels. Your 4 pixels could be anywhere between 3.5 and 4.4999..., and my 6 pixels could be anywhere between 5.5 and 6.4999... That means the actual increase could really be anywhere between 22% and 86%.

For now, let's assume yours really equates to 4.4999 pixels, and mine is 5.5, making it only a 22.2% improvement, which is closer to the actual resolution increase of around 20%... so it's not as weird as you think.

As I said above, when I scaled down to 1024 resolution, it still had only 4 pixels. Assuming my resolution scales to the same size of 5.5 as we used above, we can assume the 1024 res is at the other end of the rounding spectrum at 3.5, giving it an increase of 63.6%, which fits the actual resolution increase of 64%.

It just depends what the original size of the font was before it was reduced to each of our resolutions and recalculated and rounded. The higher resolution you use, the higher chance to be bumped up another pixel of detail.

FIX IT NAO

It's bad enough it's allergy season and my eyes are already irritated just from that...I don't need tiny numbers further stressing my eyes...

Missing doors in the Grandville tower in i7. This was pre-ouroportal, base porter, or Pocket D porter. Since the hospital was inside the tower, if you died you were locked in the tower with no way out unless someone used Recall Friend to get you out.

That one took the prize. Small enhancement numbers are annoying, certainly, but we've had way worse bugs that made it live over the years.

I guess I should have said the rollout bugs that I've experienced myself, since I didn't play redside until about a year ago. I'll admit your example is a gamebreaker of a problem; I just never experienced it since I didn't get a villain into the 40's until last year.

I'll add my vote to the idea that that the text on enhancements is difficult to read; an increase in font size would be welcomed.

Yep, I practically have to put my nose to the screen to read them, so please fix this, devs!

That is understandable as a bug that wasn't known, I assume.

This was known, and deliberately classed as unimportant or working as intended. It's not that big of a deal, but it is hard to understand.

You assume wrong. It was known. People warned the devs about it in the Test forums. When the patch went live the next day anyway, people were posting as the patch applied, "noooooo, don't put this live, it's brooooookeeeeen!!!"

I'm not joking. That's exactly what it was like.

Yep!

Also, since I have three accounts I will be /bug this every day three times till it gets fixed.

WAKE UP DEV'S.

Since the Market is down anyways they have an excuse to bring CoX down to fix that and toss in the fix for this at the same time.

Besides the enhancement screen and the AH screen level text, the ear-phone text from the new contacts are also unreadable in the chat box. Not from font-size but from the color. The red or gray fade-to-black color of the text means you can only see the top half of the letters. If you miss the chat bubble you have no idea what was said or at least I didn't. We complained a lot about that in the beta forums too.

Note: I'm not really complaining about issue 17 going in too early. I thought it was pretty solid in beta and I'm not having the killer issues some others seem to have. I'm just surprised sometimes by what is considered important enough to fix or even new stuff to add versus stuff that slips into live despite numerous complaints. The unreadable text and missing costume / shield parts seemed like pretty important things to me. But then I'm not a dev for COH.

I bugged it and got an email response- take it to the forums. Circle complete.

Ummm, what?

Maybe I didn't quite understand what you meant, but did they just tell you to stick it where the sun don't shine?

Obviously you did not /bug it - you /petition'd it. /bugging does not get any actual response (email or otherwise) beyond (maybe, not always) an automated reply.

Odd... I remember one of the devs talking about the end-game content (not sure if it would be the Incarnate stuff, but I assume it is) and saying we could earn 10 more "universal enhancement slots" or something like that. I got the distinct impression that we would be able to add a 7th enhancement to powers.

I'll have to go search for the exact quote.

To me, a "universal slot" means that whatever is permitted to be slotted in it will affect your whole character, not just a single power. Sounds more like a set bonus than a 7th slot.

Universal enhancement slots were part of a survey put out by NCsoft a while ago. Like...two years now?

The Gm said they would pass it on but post it in the Forums because the Devs read them.
I thought they were polite but noncommital.
