My 5 years (on and off) with this game has shown time and time again that they are really slow/bad at keeping the community informed on downtime issues, it only takes a few seconds to write a post if this was scheduled or not, again a few seconds, so it is not like it's going to make the downtime last longer.

humm, they added one on Tuesdays now? I thought it was just a Thur. thing, oh well.
-
Is there a publish or something going on today? I don't see a thread anywhere but the servers are all down?

Quote:That, or having all those lasers flying around, with Thugs you don't see thier shots as much, and yea, robots are just scary....Voting bots/traps, mine solos things he has no right to solo, and that's with barely any IOs and an idiot behind the wheel. Plain old PvE spawns are hilariously trivial to deal with.
I also have a thugs mastermind but she doesn't seem to create the sense of "oh ****" that the robots do. Maybe it's the clanking... -

Quote:Yes, because the first person I ALWAYS ask for tactical advice would be a scrapper......If its very important to you, grab confront.
Honestly, you need to talk tactics with your friend.
She should not be tossing AoEs onto enemies that you haven't already engaged with.
Everyone else... "we should go into this room and then toss a slow and seeds if it's up, then use some rad powers to debuff and smoke to try to break up the group"
Scrapper "yea... I'm just gonna run in and kill them all, you guys, do what you said...." -
Sounds like the OP used to play Dungeons and Dragons (not the online version) and wants a Stone Skin spell http://www.d20srd.org/srd/spells/stoneskin.htm
I would not want the whole set to work like this but replacing one of the powers with a HP shield like this would be good. -

Quote:Forget that, it was hard enough to find settings that I like now.I think you'll just have to play with the extremes of brightness and darkness to find out which you find least-annoying.
It's funny, I turned the graphic's down and some things look better (like that water effect you get in the sewers, gone now). -
Lemme ask the folks this, I was able to make cold's shields bearable by changing the color, but I find that snow storm is a bit much,
I turned down the graphics and it's better now but now I can barley see it, is there some color scheme that makes snow storm visible but not overwhelming? -
Quote:Actually, I dropped the Therm and now have a cold/sonic and plant/FF team with my Scrapper. All right, if your point was "debuff and shield" you're all set. I could make a case for /cold for your troller, but I think therm would be easier for 3-boxing. I say that because I would find 2 Sleets problematic, since they're both location based debuffs and I personally find those types of powers tough to use well beyond the main toon when multiboxing.

Quote:Guys since I triple-box all the time I tested this extensively, here are the simple results. My buddy and I experienced this while running tips last night. Neither of us have visited Null.
If the leader zones in (appears last) everyone can see everyone.
If the Leader zones in first, he see's only himself, everyone else sees whoever comes in AFTER them.
If the leader gives the star to someone else, everyone see's everyone.
It's just screwed up right now, as a temp. fix, since I don't have any teleport powers I'm just holding the leader back till everyone zones it, it makes playing a little slower but..... -
Quote:Wow that really worked well, I switched to a Cold/Sonic!!!!I'll have to toss in a vote for using a cold defender. The shields can be colored to be less obtrusive to costumes (use darker blue colors). I'll just say that I took my cold/rad defender and went GM hunting with my friend's ill/rad. We took down Jurassik, Eochai (couldn't spawn Jack), 2 Paladins simultaneously, Adamastor, the Kraken, and a couple GMs on monster island in PI. Fun times. With them hit with Benumb I was literally taking double digit damage (instead of multi-hundred) when I'd get close to use Soul Drain. Took about 1.5 hours due to afks and searching for the GMs in some zones.

Quote:So which set (other then rad) would you pick? I chose thermal since it would do some debuff AND shield, that was the point, I can't think of another set that does that (other then /sonic I suppose, but the debuffs in therm are better). If your role for the Therm is to be a debuffer, that's not a great set for it. Therm is a buff/heal set that eventually gets some debuffs. They're very good when you can use them, but the recharge is pretty long for the duration. Heat Exhaustion has a 120 second recharge for a 40 second duration, Melt Armor is 150 and 40 respectively.
This is far from a knock on Thermal, which I think is a fantastic, well-rounded set. I'm just saying it's not a debuffing specialist if that's what you're looking for. -

Figured something out here, if the leader zones in last, everyone sees everyone, if he zones in he sees no one and everyone gets a few more people on their list, weird.

Quote:I should have mentioned this in my last reply but here goes...
If I were to put together a small AV killing team, it would probably be a Cold/Sonic Defender and a SS/FA/Soul Brute. Cold/Sonic provides some of the best debuffs and has defense buffs. Benumb is the best debuff in the game because it reduces the effectiveness of practically everything the AV activates after it is on the AV. This includes powers like Unstoppable, which means they will activate it and you won't really notice a difference in the damage you deal. The SS/FA/Soul Brute is a great balance of single-target DPS and AoE damage. It will gain survivability through defense buffs and a good build with Weave. The third character could be another DPS or a kinetics controller. You won't need healing because of Benumb's damage debuff and Fiery Aura's fast-recharging self-heal.
I did think of something like this, haveing a cold fender, but the shields are too ugly, course i could have gone with what I have with a FF/sonic and a Kin troller of some kind, but with all this res and def and some nice debuffs from both toons, this scrapper should do well. -
Gives me something to strive for, I went with a FF/Sonic fender so I would not be stuck with PFF as my first pick as a troller, and with Forge and the last two powers in thermal and a heal it seemed like a good choice at the time.

Quote:After doing it for so many years (in this game and others) it's really childsplay, fact is, I can't play one toon anymore, too easyAre you controlling all three characters? That would be impressive.
Quote:The Sonic secondary on the Defender will debuff a lot more resistance than the Thermal, if built with enough recharge. Dual Blades isn't the greatest set for DPS, and Fiery Aura will cause redraw when you use Burn. I think your melee DPS choice could be a lot better.
Scrappers are capable of soloing many AVs with the right powerset combinations and good builds. A team with debuffs and buffs just ensures the job is easier and gets done faster. -
Hey All,
With 20.5 going live and all I started a new Trio, I have....
DB/Fire Scrapper
Plant/Therm Troller (debuffer here)
FF/Sonic fender
With buffing made so much easier I thought I'd give this a try, it's quite nice and the FF helps with the Squishy of /Fire, I guess I'm wondering with the debuff's that Therm has would it be enough? -
Well, good to see it's not me Misery LOVES company, as for this.
Quote:I've had it happen perhaps 2 -3 times in all the time I have been playing (4 years or so, on and off) and had it happen 10 times today, something they did irritated this bug. This is actually a very old bug. I think typing /sync will clear it up for anyone that is affected.
Assemble Team - and for that matter, Recall Friend - does the same thing for the character by forcing the game server to 'place' them in the expected coordinates.
I tried that /SYNC, no luck -
Quote:Used ATT?Had this happen on a sewers team last night. Three people on the team showed as not being in zone, and we kept asking 'you guys coming?' cause we thought they were still in Atlas. Then someone saw they were right there with us, but none of them said anything... then I realized they NEVER said anything. So if they had said anything in team chat, we couldn't see it, and they weren't seeing what we said.
At some point, someone used ATT, and boom! Everything was normal. So if it happens again, there's a work around if you, or someone on the team doesn't mind burning that power for a while.
I didn't /bug cause I had to leave for work, but if it happens again, bug it. -
Anyone else getting a team bug where when you zone (either into a new area or a mission door) you lose you ability to see your teammates status (no green or blue bar info) and it just says "On Mission Map" or "Atlas Park" and if your in the same zone you still cant see it?
Sigh.... Instead of having to click on everyone to buff, I now have to click on everyone to see if they need a heal...
6 of one, 1/2 dozen of the other.
Please fix this..
Note: I tried both the classic team UI and the new one, same thing. Fliping leadership around or leveling fixes this as well -
Quote:So a AoE Hold perhaps with a larger radius (if it's PBAoE) then, well, since other sets have it..... I wouldn't call that one going out on a limb, I would say it's a "fer shure!"ok, going out on a limb here but do you think it would be something where you could freeze time at a particular instant? like freeze all enemies for x amount of seconds allowing your allies to beat them. Sort of like xavier freezing those around him in one of those xmen movies
Heck if it was long lasting it could be the tier nine power -
Quote:I always open with flash myself, I'm playing with (mostly) a Fire/Emp troller, (she uses smoke), since the -Tohits stack along with Fort it helps keep me a little safer...Yeah I agree. I would probably use glue first, then disruption, then acid, as by that time they will be grouped up a bit more for acid to hit more targets, then oil slick, blazing arrow, and fistful or RoA depending on how high a level the mobs are, but they should pretty much all die just from the burning oil slick with all those debuffs (if your oil slick is loaded with damage enhancements.)
