Animated Tails are coming
Quote:
So it gets its own category ie Legs and Feet.
Animated tails are not capes. They're nearly identical to how we do wings, but a much simpler rig. (Not too much more expensive than a bow when you really get down to it.)
They've also been put on their own costume node and will now show up under "Lower Body". Which will mean you can do a Belt and a Tail (animated or static) on the same character. Unfortunately, that means the tails under the belt category are being flagged as legacy. So if you want to keep your current, non-animated tail, you'll still need to go in and select that costume part from the lower body the next time you edit your costume at the tailor. |
So when do we get Kilts with Monsterous legs, Hoods with Beast Heads, and Horns with Beast Heads. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I do thank you for your hard work.

Please, please say that you're including wolf and fox tails with this upgrade, Devs!
You could try being a little more creative with it. Find a new video of it, for instance, or a work-safe furry pic or something.

By my reckoning, they'll have to redo the existing tails anyway to animate them, so it'd make sense to add a few more. I mean, the ones we have now are TERRIBLE! It doesn't make sense to just animate them and NOT improve on them and add more.

remember the safe word.
Plus we only have like 5 tails anyway so it seems like a big feature to add if there's not going to be much to do with it.

I would imagine they did'nt so much animate the existing tails as they created all new animated tails which may or may not resemble the ones we currently have.

there is no reason whatsoever tails old or new will be moved from the only place they can be attached. So this is highly unlikely. But it might be impossible to actually take a non animating tail at the tailor.

Thank you devs! I just hope that they fix so belts and tails is no more the same costume piece.
Very pleased to see this especially:

But these are fantastic:Positron Task Force Update: This Task Force has been split into two halves and dramatically upgraded and updated to ramp up the fun. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy. |

Quality of Life Improvements Craftable Temporary Powers: You will now have a much cleaner and more consistent way of finding and crafting temporary powers. Increased Mission Count: You can now have seven active missions (previously three). Show Last Objective: This UI improvement lets you find your last objective on a mission map, making it easier to find something you've missed. Auction House: The UI gives you new options for sorting search results, your Auction House inventory is now separated by clearly marked tabs based on the item's status, the Auction House text entry box now autocompletes, and a single click on a recipe displays all salvage needed for that recipe. In-Game E-mail: You can now use in-game e-mails to send Influence/Infamy to your own characters or to other players' characters via in-game e-mails. (You still cannot send Influence, Infamy, or items from a Hero to a Villain or vice versa.) |

But yes, you will still be able to keep non-moving tails, if you so choose to. And, as a bonus, you can now have belts with them.

I'd love it if the base computer was able to dub as an AE terminal with it's own hologram (but only if it is active, dont want no generic hologram all the time in the base) and use of the base teleporters to get into the mission.

To clear up what BAB was saying about this the only reason anyone would have to "re-chose" a legacy tail for a character costume is if that costume ever got edited -after- I17 goes live. If you have a legacy tail right now for a costume and you decide to never edit it again then there's nothing you have to do.

Over the years the Devs have shifted and changed many different costume items. They've even removed some original items from the editor, but not from the game itself. This means that as long as people have never edited their costumes since those changes then there are costumes out there that still have "deleted" items locked into them.
Of course its always possible that all old tails are going to be automatically removed from all characters the day I17 goes live, forcing everyone to go back to the editor to 'fix' that one way or the other. But if that happens that will pretty much be the first time anything drastically "automatic" like that has ever happened in the history of this game which makes me think it's a very unlikely possibility.

are there any plans to do the same type of thing for the way skirts and kilts work, so that you can have, for example, the Cyborg legs with the Valkyrie skirt, or is the problem of getting character movement to 'push' multiple layers of costume still a sticking point (i.e., making the skirt move right when the character's legs push it while running/kneeling/jumping)?
