If it works, why fix it? d;D

I used to have a female chewbacca in my photobucket for threads like this...it was disturbingly appropriate.

Not sue what happened to it.

here's the next best thing: http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...-chewbacca.gif

If we ever get foxtails does this mean they will only be animated?

I just hope they better than COs, which were oversized and protuded way too straight out from the characters lower back.

Can we get a sneek-peek BAB?

Pretty please with a kitten ontop?

That's... Not really what one would use as ammo against furry fans as a broader spectrum. I happen to enjoy the artwork and still find that repulsive, as it's actually a MALE Chewbacca with photoshopped bikini and lipstick on. Then again, being fan of the artwork, I'd lie if I said I've not seen worse. Like, a LOT worse. If you want me to trawl the net for you, I can probably find a few pics you can turn people's stomachs with, but I'm afraid none of them would be postable.

Suffice it to say that this specific subject, even if we were to restrict ourselves to it like we shouldn't, is about as broad as something like anime. Every time someone tries to badmouth anime, they end up badmouthing a very narrow subset of themes within anime that they really hate. Like giant-eyed people that sweat gigantic uni-beads and have hair twice the length of their bodies, just to pull an example out of a hat, but there's a lot more to anime than that. And there's a lot more to furry artwork than mascot costumes or wolves having sex with the Lock Ness Monster (seruously).

I assume the old tails will receive the same grandfathered "Legacy" status as the old Legacy weapons, in that the objects which exist RIGHT NOW will remain as they are, possibly separated in their own section, but new items created will NOT have Legacy variants. So you can use the old ugly tails if you wanted to, for some bizarre reason, but I wouldn't expect new tails to be made in the same way.

By the way, I'm still not a fan of keeping a "legacy" version of every piece that gets tweaked. It fills up the costume editor with redundant crap. For this reason, I wouldn't be sad to see the old tails go, but I know this opinion is liable to get me yelled at. Maybe if we had some way to filter out Legacy pieces, I would be less inclined to feel that way, but I honestly don't need to see the old uni-jacket or the old boot-less pants.

Sam worded it a lot better than I could, without me ending up getting really mad about it.
The anime parrallel is a very good one. Some stuff is incredibly wierd, and, (IMO) so is the stuff that people tend to drum out when using the term 'Furry', which is why I stick to calling it Anthro art, which is also more technically correct. For example, is this sort of thing 'OMFG wrong, ew, ew!' ? (and yes, it's one of my pieces);

http://redwinterwolf.deviantart.com/...Kent-125217524

People in general have some wierd likings. Bondage, foot fetishes, sadist, machosist, robot fetishes, all sorts of stuff. T'be honest, none of that really 'bothers' me. I might not like it, some of it I find really wierd, but so long as its out of sight and out of mind, I couldnt really give a damn. Its someone elses thing, so let them be.

But when it's to the point of 'omg its furry KILL IT!' it gets really damn stupid. Did you never watch The Raccoons, or Dogtanian as a kid? (Those in the US might not have seen them, t'be fair). Or Disney? Disney uses a HELL of a lot of anthropomorphic characters. Just in quite a kiddy style. In the same way that cartoon people are less realistic.
*shrug*

Isn't that an oversimplification... and exaggeration? Like if I was to suggest that this is what all those "normal" people are drooling over?

Yes, it is over simplified and exagerated. But that's what makes it funny.

I don't see anything wrong with making fun of human absurdity.

Tic, Tech, Tow.. XD

Both seem to be on a mission of Political Correctness and to legitimize something that's absurd/ridiculous.

I don't apologies in finding humor in it.

P.s. (in response to Eddie Murphy in fatdrag) Ewww! It's both grotesque and funny because it's both a Social Commentary and stereotype!! xD No more!!

Heh, thanks. But would it be possible to link to the page, rather than insert the image? dA is not particularly kind on the DL image size ( aka, it's mahoosive >_< )

And I'd be tempted to make more characters like that in game, if we had more parts to work with. The tails are a good start though.

But then Tokyo wouldn't have seen it...

Meh, it's plugs for the art, too. (Despite that pic being fairly old and in need of update >_< University ett my time!)

I hope they keep the option to not animate tails.

I should be more specific... I hope the new tails also come as static and no only animated.

.
I find it intriguing that you can tell a female Chewbacca from a male Chewbacca.

So, you would find it more enjoyable if it were in fact a female Chewbacca?

They've also been put on their own costume node and will now show up under "Lower Body". Which will mean you can do a Belt and a Tail (animated or static) on the same character. Unfortunately, that means the tails under the belt category are being flagged as legacy. So if you want to keep your current, non-animated tail, you'll still need to go in and select that costume part from the lower body the next time you edit your costume at the tailor.
I love you man....

now....animated hair?

Jay: No I wont do animated tails, I don't want to do anything that could be used by those....furries *spits*
BaB: I'll do it
Jay: I mean you....whaaaa?
BaB: I said I'll do it...heck I did power customisation during my spare time for over a year...I've been needing something to keep me busy so I'll do it.
Jay: But...you can't...costumes aren't your area...
BaB: Well since power customisation is a costume option I think I've already got my foot in the door and these tails wont animate themselves, think you'll find that's my area anyway..
Jay: but...
Positron: Right the job goes to Brawler, sorry Jay...

I think being able to say "I can live with that" is probably the biggest understatement of the decade.

I can easily guarantee that I'll experiment with all the new tail/belt combo possibilities and make many costume edits with many alts with this regardless. Thanks for finally being able to work this in.
I'm pretty sure they will issue 1 costume change token per character as has been customary in the past.
I hope you didn't think I was -seriously- complaining about this.

Most of my main characters have 30+ costume change tokens racked up, have access to the 57th month Vet award that provides a 50% discount on all tailor sessions and have 100s of millions of INF between them to spend. I'm pretty sure being "forced" to have to worry about a few costume changes is not going to be a real issue for me whether they give us yet another costume change token for this or not.

I brush-style tail would be all I need for canines, vulpines, squirrels, raccoons, skunks and anything else.

Granted, I only really need it for three, maybe four characters out of 60-70, but still

Animated tails do not excite me much, but the rest of what NCsoft/Paragon is implementing in i17 most certainly does (except Posi TF - being a mainly villain player this doesn't do much for me).

Keep up the good work!!!

Then you probably want to post more on the Issue 17: Overview rather than the animated tails thread...just to be polite

To be honest, I find furry haters to be more annoying than even the most vocal furries.

And that said, finally. Have they even specified what kind of animated tails they're gonna have? If there's just one fox tail I'm happy.

Just so we're clear:

Good wholesome family entertainment.

Repulsive fetish perpetuated by deranged freaks.

Makes sense now, right?
