Praetoria isn't an evil mirror world of Primal Earth. It's less "everyone is switched" and more of a "what if..." world, where the "what if" question is, "What if supers decided that existing governments and morality structures were flawed enough to simply overthrown them". The Praetorians don't think that they are evil. In fact, as we have seen from everything from GoRo, they think they're doing good with all of their thought policing, memory modification, and the rest of their draconian judicial system. The Praetorians aren't intended to be a direct mirror but rather be just like this world only with a single major facet of it changed (supers as authority rather than servants of authority).

Overused: Nemesis. I'm tired of him cropping up all the place. He has had several issues with him in it, time to let some other group get the spotlight.
Overused: As mentioned the Deus Ex Machina named Blue Steel.

I share the opinion of wanting to see more about Hellions/skulls having a taskforce where they are the predominant group with archvillain.
Aswell with more of the Center. (Super Charisma ooo)
Also having some more personal missions from the various Heroes like Swan, Minx, Valkyrie... the entire gang really.

I'd really like to see more of Victor Von Grun. Doc Aeon is cool, but I can laught together with Victor Von Grun.

I'd like to see more of Krylov (and Spetsnaz).
Shivans.. nasty alien "thingy's" that have landed on earth and we know sooo little about them. (Although we do go forward in time when one of them has fallen in Atlas Park, so I expect to hear more about them)
Apex... Loved that char (loved the comics aswell, please make more of them like the stories with Apex and War Witch).
The Legacy chain (as mentioned by others).

Edit: Just remembered. Circle of Thorns may be used too much to peoples discomfort. Me... I love wacking them demon summoning body snatching sorcerers.

Aren't they meant to be part of The Coming Storm? It's strongly implied that the Shivan meteorite landing in Atlas Park is the precursor to the giant invasion that destroys the world.

Unless I'm lore-confused again and the Coming Storm was the return of the 5th... I don't know any more

That was my thought as well Duncan. However we are not told spesifically who is behind the coming storm.
After all we do have a few letters telling us not to trust the O-gang and question for yourself why you are not fighting the threat or learn more of the threat that is coming. Instead of going towards the future (which you could as they say the rules allow for), your only sent into the past... except for that one time that we both refer to vs the meteorite in Atlas Park.

Replying to various points:

I'd like to see more Heroside about the Legacy Chain... they have some great potential for GOING ROGUE, too (we're on the side of Light, but we'll MASSACRE you if we think you're abusing magic).
#4829, "Chains of Blood"...unapologetic Jossbait, but it's the direction I'd go in with the Chain.

Quote:
I haven't checked for any Penny Preston arcs, but I'm sure they're out there, too.
Arc #149323, "Toys from Heck: The Penny Preston Taskforce". Not one of mine but I did review it.

Quote:
Akarist too was stolen from MAGI's custody. And though not because of a villain, there is also that Divining Rod thingie that Skipper LaGrange gives you in Croatoa.
A person is not an object and can't be thrown into a vault for security. There is no evidence that Skipper's artifact was ever in MAGI's possesion in the first place; what is said only indicates that he's not supposed to have it. Presumably the City universe has laws regulating dangerous artifacts, just like gun control laws.

Quote:
Is it coincidence that the respec NPCs for heroes and villains (at least the original before Sawyer was added) both have wolf related names? Jack Wolfe / Arbiter Lupin
"Lupin" is a false cognate; the word in question is "lupine". A lupin is a flower. While it wouldn't surprise me if CoV's writers fell into the linguistic tar-pit I thought Arbiter Lupin's name was a Shout Out to the "Dennis Moore" Monty Python skit, in which a "gentleman bandit" steals lupins from the rich to give to the poor. The villain respec trial, of course, involves players stealing from a plant.

Quote:
Praetoria isn't an evil mirror world of Primal Earth.
Praetoria is a goatee universe with a few token-minority exceptions thrown in to try to refute that fact. The overwhelming likelyhood for any given canon character is that their Praetorian counterpart is an evil twin.

Unless I'm lore-confused again and the Coming Storm was the return of the 5th... I don't know any more
"The Coming Storm" is both overused and underused. Underused in that it was thrown in and neglected; overused in that the devs throw it back in every once in a while, which only has the effect of ensuring that what they ever do with it, if anything, won't have a snowball's chance in hell of living up to expectations.

Also, if you rub them, it sounds like rubbing a balloon.

* Igneous - Bar a handful of missions in the Hollows you don't see them again.
Can't stop laughing this thread is so funny.

Igneous-At the very least, I always thought it 'd be cool if they tied in a massive Igneous rock monster appear at the end of a mish/arc. Really similar to the Crimson Zues Mega Titan mish, I know, but something involing this cool group.

Ever since the first Winter event, I've been holding out hope for something, anything about the Lord of Frosts.

He only appears in the backstory on the site, and while I know he's probably dead by now, I was hoping for some closure on the "mysteriously disappeared" plot development. One of his artefacts, or something. An unknown heir. Yet more time-travel shenanigans.

I had actually been thinking of an MA TF based around this, where Lord of the Frosts froze himself and fellow members of the Imperial Wind to bind their time and they actually have been active and awake for some time now (awoken by the Rikti invasion) and with Reichsman free, they basically want to ally with the 5th Column and perform a Coup on the Japanese government to start a redux of World War II, or at a rerun of something like the Meiji Revolution.

More site backstory under-utilization: Hero Corps.

The difficulty slider people we all know, and their history can be summed up at the ParagonWiki article (and the Disciple history badge), but other than that, nothing.

I'm sure people will mention that it's obvious that Hero Corps is evil, or working with Crey, or whatever, but I don't think it's that obvious. The direction seems to be that Hero Corps is now a subsidiary of Crey in effect if not actually listed as such on the stock exchange, but it's all circumstantial evidence and speculation. There's nothing decisive.

In other words, it's possible for a story arc to go "actually, Hero Corps are honestly good guys, just with different viewpoints from Freedom Corps and really bad luck with publicity", and not contradict the facts. Mind you, with how little we actually know, it's also possible for Hero Corps to be another Nemesis Plot.

I can't belive nobody has mentioned my favourite group The slag heap garbage dudes in Sharkhead! They don't even get a dedicated storyline much less a taskforce or contact.

Just a quick point on Flower Knight and how she appears in outbreak and then Ouroboros and then you don't see her again.......

Well.......that's kind of my fault. I just brought a LoTG recipe and was about to head to steel to craft it and I decided to sell other rubbish at the Ouroboros store. I sold the LoTG by mistake just as Flower Knight tapped me on the shoulder. In a fit of self pity I tossed her off the edge thinking she would re spawn in the pool ....but she didn't....my bad.

I loved the way the whole Pyriss thing played itself out. It's a shame that her missions can be very easy to miss as you level up a villain. Once I saw what eventually became of her, I actually felt bad that I'd had a hand in her fate.

Arc# 92382 -- "The S.P.I.D.E.R. and the Tyrant" -- Ninjas! Robots! Praetorians! It's totally epic! Play it now!

Arc # 316340 -- "Husk" -- Azuria loses something, a young woman harbors a dark secret, and the fate of the world is in your hands.

Under used or non-exsistant redside:
Outcast (one mission)
Trolls (News paper only no flashback)
Croatoan Groups (Seasonal on Tuatha and Red Caps)
Crey (not even in Paper missions)

Over Used
Longbow
Archanos

Ideas - incease the chance of Hordlings and decrease the chance of Spectrals in lower/mid level missions.

Wyvern are very much underused, and about half of the time they could easily replace longbow in the Rogue Isles.

More MA fun!

Flower Knight: The Flower Knight Task Force #260284 by PoliceWoman

Vernon Von Grun: Too Clever by Half #378944 by Samuraiko - spot on dialog from Von Grun.

And I second the Becky arcs by New Age Ronin.

And Penny Preston isn't the only teenager in the game, there's another one that's held hostage in Twilight's Son Task Force in Ouroborous.

Simple one, Over used: Circle of Thorns, Arachnos, Longbow for both blue and red side.

Underused: Outcasts and Trolls. Really these two groups really have no direction or real reason to exist.

But it's good that they don't! Because the only thing more boring than fighting Longbow is fighting Wyvern.
