It appears that CO "motivated" our Devs to give us character stances as well. I love competition.

If the EATs become more widely played thanks to this, some of the long standing little issues Khelds have had might actually be FIXED, shock shock.

I agree, but 20? That's a few days of game play at most unless you have severe alt-itis. 30 would've been better, or even 40 (XP-wise, 40 is about halfway to 50).

It makes them more accessable, saves the headaches of future and more EATs and rectifies the 'mistake' they saw making them unlock at 50 as.
Win/win, I say.

It's totally tied into the 1-20 content in some way, I think

Sure, let's say this even though we know it's been in the works much longer than that, and we know the how's and why's of the buyout, expansion, and development schedule.

I expect this kind of crack from certain wanks, but not you Marcian.

On the other hand if they are going to bother to lower it at all then -anything- lower than 50 would probably upset someone, somewhere. Like for instance you apparently.

Not trying to poke fun, just making the point that 20 is really just about as good as any threshold. It's not going to "cheapen" any more or less in the long run than any other less-than-50 number.

Personally, I think the level 20 unlock thing is AWESOME. Recently, a friend of mine returned to the game with a bunch of his friends, and we all played together a while (though they're waiting for GR now, maybe this will draw them back). The problem is, some of his friends REALLY wanted to play VEATs, and were asking us to level them up really fast so they could play them.

I can only imagine how players new to the game without any established friends to mooch off of must react when they want the Epic ATs early. Might be one of the things giving the pay-for-PL companies business.

So unlocking them earlier is a completely awesome design choice, in my opinion.

As for if it's too early or not... I don't think it is. 20 doesn't take long, but it's enough of an accomplishment to say "you're giving the game a chance". It's not terribly hard to get to, but it's also not so easy it's instantly handed to you.

Personally, I think it's just right.

I think he meant it more as a 'They had 'better' stuff...'
As in 'Yeah, we see your 'decent', CO, and raise you a 'Awesometastic awesomesauce''

On the other hand to blindly assume CO didn't have -any- effect on the development of these things for this game is a bit shortsighted. Sure our Devs might have been sort of working on these things for years, but they are finally getting done now instead of later in response to something. *shrugs*

It is worth noting that a Nemesis system was first suggested by Positron before the Dev team got slashed to 15 developers, and that Jack told him to work on something else.

Champions online may have "higher end" graphics, based upon the fact that their minimum specs are about the same as those required for Ultra Mode. On the other hand, having experienced those graphics first hand, I have to say that "higher end" does not mean "better." In my opinion, City of Heroes looks better than Champions, right now. Ultra Mode will push us over the top and way beyond CO.

Still, the fact that CO is in the market is a good thing, as it accelerates us getting things that might have been lower on the priority list, like emote stances.

New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):

Okay, just so I know I'm reading this right before I get all over myself and start browbeating friends into returning or subscribing for the first time..

The "pre-order goodie" is early access to the two new powersets.

There are two editions of Going Rogue: The Basic Edition for $29.99 with nothing but Going Rogue access and the Complete Collection (basically the Collector's Edition) for $39.99 with the added extras.

Actually, I didn't know that this was in the works longer than that at all. If I'm wrong, you have my ready apology.

I meant this statement as a compliment, though. City of Heroes rises to meet all challengers, and I'm excited for that.

Samuraiko's Issue Title about apples is fantastic.

If it's likely that I'm wrong, I'll recede back to being merely "Overjoyed and exuberant".

Remember Going Rogue? That's right, how could you forget? Well, you have the opportunity to get access to the Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning power sets in March and April, if you pre purchase City of Heroes Going Rogue (MSRP $29.99 USD)! You will also be able to get your hands on an exclusive item pack if you get the City of Heroes Going Rogue: Complete Collection (MSRP $39.99 USD), that will be available when Going Rogue releases in July! What's in that item pack, you ask? Well, a few nifty things like:
Emphasis mine...
I think this is the first time we've (I've, anyways) seen an actual release-ish date. Bonus on getting the power sets a little early as well...

I don't know what makes me more excited, the new foe or early access to DP and Demon summoning.

Also interested in the Complete Collection. All the extra stuff for $10 seems like a good deal to me. I just hope the Complete collection can be pre-ordered.
