I am a bit confused tho. Will I need to spend 29.99 on the pre order and then 39.99 on the complete edition? Or will one purchase go towards the other. I want to pre-order, but I also want the complete edition.

Sure, there''d still be some rage, but it'd be less.
I'm not sure Atari would totally reverse the payment decision, as they must have already worked it into their business plans - so spinning off the extras as paid-for, and making the zone and misisons free would be a sort of compromise for both sides.

As cool as it is that we're getting additional info, note that this announcement includes not a peep on the new end game system that Posi and his team of minions are working on. So there is more in the way of big reveals yet to come.
