I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.

There's always idle chitchat about people being 'sekritdevs zomg'. Heck I've been accused of being a dev. Denied or not, people will keep their jaws flappin'.

Just remember that the real devs also have logs of everything that is said in game and on the forums here, and if push comes to shove those logs will either exonerate you or put the stake in your heart.

Just keep doing what yer doing and don't worry about the fishwives.

OMG, we used to be in the same Dev SG.

I have the malaise pants & top on one of my main characters costumes & have for over 5 years now. No-one has noticed.

...other than other people who had the malaise costume.

Most people just aren't looking closely enough.

...I'd Vote Arbie to be a Dev though. Even though he's not.

I also remember finding it funny that people thought you were using Dual Pistols for real, since... you know... said powerset would actually have to be patched in first...

But wouldn't a real dev KNOW that denying their dev-hood would raise suspicions of them being an ACTUAL dev UNLESS they KNOW that would be too obvious so such a denial couldn't possibly be taken serious meaning that they ARE a dev.

Consider this, both the words 'Equation' and 'Sexy Jay' at first they don't appear very similar at all. However, each has 8 letters. Dont forget the space between Sexy and Jay, they WANT you to forget about that. Oh yes they do. Not only that, there are 8 letters in the name 'Moriarty' and we all know who that is! And what two things were Moriarty known for? Snappy dressing and highly obfuscated plots that required the staggering intellect of Sherlock Holmes to unravel.

More to the point, this announcement comes at the same time as a movie ABOUT Sherlock Holmes comes out WITH Moriarty in it. How very convenient. Almost TOO convenient.

I think we are on to your game Equation...IF that is your real name. Speaking of which...the name Equation mean what? It is a mathematical statement that implies equality in two expressions.

Equation = Sexy Jay = Moriarty = Iron Man <--- remember 8 characters including the space.

That's right. Iron Man. This is a game about superheroes. And which superhero is a snappy dresser like Equation AND a super genius like Moriarty and good with his hands like Sexy Jay, I'll always remember Belize Jay, AND just had a movie come out about SHerlock Holmes? That's right Robert Downey Jr. so I submit...

Equation = Sexy Jay = Moriarty = Robert Downey Jr.

Whether people know him directly or not, it was a rant, and a well thought out one at that.

In a game where you can get generic'd because a new game appeards with a dev who uses your character's name, how far do some of the rules go?

Soemone like Arbiter Fab, Ascendant, Xanatos, etc.. are only as well known as they are, and plenty of people don't know who they are. It doesn't make them any less important or their concerns, especiall when its more than likely people who don't know them who are claiming that they are a Dev.

In the end, I doubt, that the whole thing will go to the point of Fab having to worry about getting banned. The real devs know how the players cna come up with unique costume options, and the whole Dual Pistols set isn't even coded in game or on the open test server I would imagine.

Although we can HOPE the GMs have more sense than to penalize someone for a non-issue such as this, we always have to recognize the possibilities.

I've had to deny dev-hood on my character "Longbow Rifleman" because the costume IS close enough that people have to look twice to see the differences. I even got a /tell from redside, when a player had a NPC Longbow Rifleman targeted and sent it a /tell by mistake, making the message come to my character instead. He thought the NPC in the Rogue Isles was responding to him and I had to talk him down. It's even kind of fun getting griefed by folks who don't realize the character is player-run, because I get to use some of my Local macros and watch the surprise reactions.

Enjoy it while you've got it, but yes...definitely use all due care to avoid misunderstanding.


BTW, the boxing boots in different color combinations also make excellent sneakers/basketball shoes. I have the black/white reversed on one character's outfit, and it looks great.

Arbiter Fabulous (along with DJ Shecky) is one of the winners of the 6 service awards they gave out at HeroCon that came with a free year of game for helping foster community, fun, and enjoyment in City of Heroes.

Guys I'd like you to stop telling me how good looking I am. I can't help it if I know how to dress, how to cut my hair, what to wear, and I have a decent diet/gym regime. I don't consider myself good looking but people keep telling me I am and it's getting tiresome. Enough is enough!



...what do you mean barely anyone thinks I'm good looking? I've been told I am at least five times!
