Low Level Stuff Generation
I have bunches o' characters that would benefit from this.
Count me in. Open to suggestions as to what to roll, too.

I roll every time I get 20 merits no matter what the level. And if over 35 I still roll in the 31 to 35 bracket.

Anyhow, Im open to this. I can roll whatever fits.

I could go for this. Red/Blue? I can make a character or two with the intent of locking them at a certain level. Just let me know what levels you need, and I'll find a build optimized for that level.

Just my opinion, feel free to disregard...
I'd like to know what level you want to lock in at...it would determine what AT I roll over on Freedom, though I could possibly resurrect an old ill/emp.
The other thing I would want to know is do you want a low level farmer type of character or something more team oriented to help rack up merits. If the teaming character is desired, I'd be tempted to go kin defender. If a farmer type, then a */WP scrapper of some sort.
I would gladly help as best I could. Never tried Freedom, would be interested to see the difference. I have ideas for every AT on both sides.

I don't think locking down is the solution. Making lots of mid level TFs is probably better. While it leaves out Pool C/Ds (well, except boss drops), you'll have an easier time recruiting people for TFs with the merit carrot at the end no matter which level.

I have a claws sr/scrapper that I would be willing to dedicate to the effort
I would be interested in doing this. I just need some more info about what level you are wanting to produce at, and if we will be doing something like a fire/rad team (ungodly, but requires at least 4 on at a time) or more soloish type characters.
Also I am assuming the we will be running Ourbo missions as well as TFs, which means we need to be at least lv 25. If we go with a fire/rad team, lv 33 would be my suggested level to lock at.
Looking at the OP again, it looks more like he was suggesting a SG where we place toons that we can combine into the core of a bigger PUG to run stuff with. In that case I would suggest we make a fire/rad team, and run them up to 33, just to have them for when we can get enough together, and to generate the prestige for the base.
A global chat channel for building our core teams would also be nice.
An added bonus would be a group of toons locked in at around lv 12 for running fast and solo Positrons. I would like to have a toon that runs them, but getting one started, let alone getting people to start one, and them log off, is hard.
Global is @honcho
On Champion
Living Coal LV 50 Fire/Fire Tank
Nature Boy LV 41 Earth/Kin Cont
Great Wacko LV 34 Robot/FF MM
plus many alts
Is this a "Horde it for ourselves" or a "Let's feed the market, and make a fortune doing it" idea? If the latter, I could be convinced to join, though I always feel strange straying from my home turf (Victory).
Red, Blue, or both? Will there be a global channel? Who's forming the SG(s)? Are we level locking at a set level, or a mix of levels? (10 for -KB, Steadfast Res/Def, Regen Tissue Unique; 15 for Stealth IOs; 25 for LotG +rech; 35 for the "mid level" which includes most sought-afters; something else?)

I'd be interested in this as I will often "spend" my Merits at level 33 after buying what I need. I'm so digging the Defender Traps set I'd love to run that but am game for whatever.

I'd also think that with the new SK rules that levels can be fairly flexible. Then it becomes an issue of building good super teams that can fly through good merit generating activities.
A note on channels. A long time ago I (or it may have been someone else in that discussion) suggested a Black Market Liberation Squad channel (BMLS). I haven't seen chatter there for awhile; we might be able to repurpose that one if it's okay with those folks still subscribed and if enough of the people interested in this new SG/VG still have BMLS in their current set of 10 channels.

Y'know, I teamed with Fulmens several times during the BMLS days, especially on Cap runs. I never knew that there was a global channel for it.
I think I like the idea of having two toons for this: One lowbie (20 max) for Posi runs that can get the really low level stealth IOs, and one at 35 for the mid-level stuff. Now to go figure out what they'll be.
And I'm still wondering about faction.
@Roderick
I'd be willing to work both sides. I have a Fire/Dark just shy of stamina (Tobacco executive, haven't been able to justify getting the power, and thus he's been mostly unplayed) redside and would gladly roll a Traps/ defender blueside.
Looks like there's enough interest to go with one on each side.
I wasn't considering this as a superteam- although that's a really good idea- but more a place to do what you like, at what level you like. I'm going to stop at L33 myself.
I figure that making the teams, and running the content, will generate the stuff. If you really want to keep stuff for yourself, it's not like someone is going to do locker checks or something.
Now for the really important question: What do we name it? Lost Boys? Childish Things? Visiting Team? Forever Young? In It For The Art?
Someone has to have a better name than these...

Well let me chime in with my desire to join this movement. While there is no way Id be able to commit consistent time, if there were a SG or VG to join where Id lock my characters level for providing a steady influx of IOs to the market Id support that in an ad hoc style. Otherwise consider me an ardent fan boy....like Syndrome from the Incredibles....
The Black Market Liberation Squad was a great idea back in its day (and helped me get the big bank!) I might be interested in this but probably not until early 2010 or so.

A SG would be interesting, but I'm mostly posting to see if you still are purchasing Merit rolls. My Warshade, The Casual Player (SG Your Markettears they are delicious on Triumph) is getting close to a third roll at level 18. Did you want these rolls to be "30" or "35" or a specific level?
I'll help in whichever way I can...(padding this new sg, etc).

I currently own a SG on Freedom that I was planning on building up the prestige on, then selling, but I never got around to it. I am willing to make "Marketeers Anonymous" available for this endeavor, and for general marketeering, unless people don't want it.

How about the name Without Merit for the VG/SG who rolls merits as soon as you hit lvl 15 so we can start filling the Market with Stealth IO's.

Based on this thread, there are people out there generating stuff at low levels (33, or 35, or maybe 37 or 40). Pool A's, Pool C's, salvage[1], whatever.
Would anyone be interested in forming an SG or an SG and a VG to support other people playing this way? I'd think it would be on Freedom, for simplicity and large team base. We could call it "I Won't Grow Up" or something. Get a couple people from the SG together to help you build your Katie/Manticore/Respec/whatever team; build small powerhouse teams for maximum drops; have good teleporter and base stuff access; live large.
I don't know if I have the energy and organizational skills to run this, but I've got a Force Field/Sonic locked down at 35 if people are interested.
[1] Salvage, less of a big deal because you can get whatever level common salvage you like in about six rolls at the Ticket machine.
