If I helps, when my last two characters reached 35 I blew all their merits on rolls. I kept what I needed (and got a surprising amount of useful stuff) and sold the rest. I'll probably keep doing it in future, despite the length of time it takes for some stuff to sell.
I didn't know that there was a Bowie track with the same name, but it makes perfect sense.
Rather sadly, I'm only young at heart :-)

Okay, I made a Fire/WP scrapper and he is now in the SG and is running Hollows Flux arc @ level 7 right now.
Quick question: I know the plan is to park the toons at 34ish or so but when do we want to start spending merit random rolls? 15 for the +stealth stuff? Any direction here?
Random stuff: I gave him the Axe for slicing up Spectre's during Posi's. Skipping travel powers right now for extra AOE for the aforementioned Posi's. Someone else needs to get the SS/Stealth/TP for ghosting I think, any Def out there?
COV Random thought: Quick CAPs worked best for me with a Def-based Stalker with Recall for stealthing/ghosting missions. Paired with FF or Ice shields, he can even grab the glowies in the last mission to spawn Batz without having to clear the map, so I made a Broadsword/Ninjitsu Stalker when that group is ready to run.

Independently of this effort I have been putting up a good number of flashback derived level 14-15 and 25 ish Pool A drops on redside.
Busy running flashbacks for badges and merits in my 'spare' time. Even if there are zero bids out, I'll list em and keep them listed until I need the market slot.

Offhand, I don't think you can get the KR mission at level 9. You get the mission from the detective *IN* KR, but at level 5-9 you get the Atlas Park mission.

I would do more harm than good if I joined this. I would put together the perfect level 33 build, sucking all of those recipes out of the market. And in the end, I doubt I'd put more than that back in. The team would have to do something like run both Sister Psyche and Citadel ten times to make up for what I would use.

She's poor: 77k total influence, and set only with SOs. Surprisingly, she's ED compliant, so she'll need a few upgrades before she becomes a merit farming machine.

And Furia Fist strikes the first blow for mid level recipe capitalism!
Furia is an old character from Guardian, level locked at 33. Upon logging on, I noticed she still had an old arc from Tristan Crane. Upon defeating an annoying horde of level 14 Vahz, saving multiple doctors, hostages and blowing up 3 barrels, Furia was in possession of 21 merits.
With the 21 merits in hand, Furia did the first random roll on behalf of the Midlevel Crisis SG. Results: Level 33 Scirocco's Dervish Acc/Dmg/End.
I prompted listed the recipe for 10 inf and it sold for 1,010,000. I feel badly for Mod08 who was in transit of switching to his live account in order to buy up the recipe.
Ok as previously stated I have the Atlas bank Mission (that i got in KR) and want to run it for the benefit of as many peeps as possible.
I am looking to run it tomorrow night (thrusday) around 8 pm EST... I hope that works for most.

Someone PMed about the fire/rads, so I thought I would do a little (make that long) write up about them. First off, I stole this idea from Topdoc, so all the credit goes to him. There used to be a thousands of post long discussion of this idea over on the controllers forum. If it still exists there is a much more comprehensive discussion of it all over there, but I'll try to summorise what I remember of it here.
Fire/rad controllers are a powerful build taken in its own right. They combine one of, if not the most, damaging of the controller primaries with one of the best secondaries. But the idea is to combine multiple fire/rads into an unstoppable juggernaut.
The secret to this is Accelerate Metabolism or AM. It's a group buff that gives +20% to damage, +30% to recharge, +30% recovery rate, and +30% to fly/run rate for 2 minutes. And you get this at lv 4. With 8 fire/rads running this, starting at lv 4, you have 160% to damage, 180% to recharge, 180% to recovery, and 180% to move speed and some good resistance to status effects. What this feels like in practice is, you attack very fast and for good damage, even with only your starter couple of attacks, and you can't run yourself out of end, you can get to where the mobs are quickly, and if you do get slept/stunned/or held, its just for a couple of seconds before you are back in the game.
The drawback is if you have to few players, thus too few AMs, you drop back into slow motion regular play again. So you need a level of at least 4 and the more the better on for this to work. For a group like this part time SG, I'm thinking you would need a static team to pull this off, unless there are a lot more players doing this than I think, at which point you can get by with everyone building a fire/rad and just forming intersupergroup pugs as people get on and off. I'll be posting in the post after this one, a signup list and question list to see if we can get such a static team up and running.
The question I got was about the build, there are two ways to do this, build completely for just running with other fire/rads, or build a decent soloing small team fire/rad that can also take advantage of the AM when it is there.
The build I am going to go with leaves lots of holes that can be filled in with self supporting powers like stamina and a movement power.
Fire/rad build with suggestions
You start off with
1: Char and Raiant Aura : your hold and group heal.
2: Fire Cages. Group immobilize (x 8) kills group dead
4: AM : the god power, makes everything better slot for recharage as soon as you can
8: Hot Feet : our killing power till we get imps
12: Flashfire : group stun, with multiple casters, even bosses are stunned and will be dead before it wears off.
18: Chocking cload: big PBAoE arround you that holds, with everyone running it, even bosses get held after maybe getting off one attack
32: Imps: 3 little scrappers that follow you around and do just what they want, just like real scrappers
And that is it for the must have powers. Everything else is gravy. Some gravy like radiation infection and enervating field, are situtational, by the time the casting animation is over, the mobs are all dead, unless you are in a GM or AV fight. With just 5 fire/rads. Jurasic went down in 45 seconds. I timed it.
Team teleport gets special mention, since by the time you are lv 33, the mobs drop so fast, most of the time in the mission is spent getting between mob groups. A "Bus Driver" toon ports the groups around, somethimes with witty commentary while they do so.

Another staple of all superteams is the leadership pool.
For controllers, unslotted, you get:
Maneuvers 2.625% Def (times 8 = 21; with 3 def SOs 33%)
Assault Dmg 10.0% (times 8 = 80%)
Tactics: ToHit 15.00% (times 8 = 120% [capped at 95%])
Tactics: Perception 202.0 at level 14 – 346.0 at level 50
So with one enervating field active everyone is softcapped to defense, hitting at 95% accuracy without slotting a single acc enhancement, and hitting even harder, on top of all the goodies AM provides.
A group of 8 unslotted fire/rads with AM and the the first three leadership toggles are unstoppable by just about anything +4 levels and under by level 14. And then it keeps getting better from there.
I have several low level Freedom characters on both sides that I would love to play with you guys, but I would rather not change SGs. Is there another way to contact the team? I've been dual boxing a level 25 archery/pain corrupter to my level 50 MM on freedom for the last few days but I'd be happy to team up and run arcs and strike forces.
