Walk,....Hmmmmmmm,.......
It's largely a tool for RPers. They've been asking for it for ages.
This is one of the most requested features in the game.
Worst waste of resources for the game EVER
Keeping it Brutal !!!!!!!!

However, I am going to assume that you were not here when they introduced Veteran Rewards. When they released the Veterans Rewards video, and it showed the characters walking down the street, you would not believe the outrage when the Devs told us that we would not be getting the ability to walk.
And the feature was oft requested before then, but, prior to that, we had never seen what were apparently player models walking.
Don't like it, don't use it. I know I won't. But I don't begrudge the fact that lots of players who wanted the feature finally got it. Some people don't care for Architect, or Power Customization, or Holiday Events. How would you feel if your own pet favorite feature got canned or rolled back because a bunch of Debbie Downers claimed that it was the "worst waste of Dev resources for the game, ever."
If you think the Devs are wasting too much of your time or money with "wastes of time" like the walk power, exercise your own power to walk away. Send them a polite e-mail about why you are dissatisfied, followed by a polite snail mail, and then unsub until they change their ways.
On the other hand, if you can accept that you won't like everything that everyone else seems to, and are willing to wait for the features you do want, nothing is preventing you from sending a polite e-mail to the Devs detailing some of the things you would like to see.
If you do decide to leave, don't tell us (well, don't bother telling me, I don't care beyond the lost subscription revenue), but definitely tell the Devs, and do it politely (Ragequits rarely see the desired results, and are easily dismissed as irrational).
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
I just wish the walk had more of a "casual" appearance to it. Right now it's on the verge of being a jolly skip from the Disney cartoons, and not just a simple "walk." It just doesn't set the right mood for me. The first time I tried it I had just defeated Back Alley Brawler in a mission, and I went just a little ways off from my contact. I wanted to walk slowly over to the contact to return the mission, as if to simply say "The deed is done, I expect my payment up-front." But then I see the incredibly strange magazine model walk and it completely killed the mood.
Do I personally like the power? Not really. The animation is almost enough to make me puke. Do other people like it? Heck yeah, though I can't see why. It's mainly a Role-playing tool for players to use, and I would have used it for reasons like the above, but now, not so much.
I would like a more casual, maybe even sinister animation for my walk power. Something similar to just lurking about, giving passers-by a menacing glare. Now that is a walk power I would use.

LOVE how my female characters walk. But then again I'm a dude. I guess you could beg BaBs to add some "Walk" emotes like they did for fly. I doubt he will, but it never hurts to ask.

If the devs have free time between their normal tasks, I'm sure they could spend it twiddling their thumbs. I imagine a lot of people expect them to just dive right into something else and get to work on something "important" even if they aren't scheduled to. I think it's nice to see that the devs work on things like this when they have some free time. Not only does it show a dedication to the game, but shows that they enjoy what they do.
So if I had to choose between hearing complaints about "lazy devs who never do anything," and hearing complaints about "devs wasting time on stupid things," I'd rather the latter, because at least that shows to me they still enjoy working on the game.
Dispari has more than enough credability, and certainly doesn't need to borrow any from you.

BABs mentioned it was assembled/worked on a bit here and a bit there over the past year (or more) during down/free/spare time - that no time was ever assigned to it.

Negaduck: I see you found the crumb. I knew you'd never notice the huge flag.
ROFL You are probably correct, but to make your case you need something that was a worse use of resources

We all can testify to how crowded those zones are. On any given server you'll find 2-3 instances of Siren's Call, Warburg, Bloody Bay, or Recluse' Victory.
And god forbid you want to use an Arena terminal. Just going near one causes intense lag from all the people scrambling to fight Gladiator matches.
Let's also not forget how well balanced and smoothly the CoP runs.

Gladiator matches is likely the winner there. PvP and CoP are more failed uses of resources, and are still redeemable. Even gladiators may or may not wind up being more popular than walking. There are badges attached to it after all.

And if there were badges attached to walking people would work for them as well

Who is the Badge guy now, he needs to get to work on this.
Walk was added to placate players recently transferred from other MMOs who found the travel powers like Sprint "disorientatingly quick" and "nauseating" and "hard to control".
www.paragonwiki.com is a great source of information for this game.

Okay, I know I'm getting the back end of this as I have not been reading up on this new power,..ahem....Walk. So, I tried it out. My toon looked like she was walking down the runway at a Calvin Klein show. I was moving very slow. This power didn't give me the option to "add" any enhancements. So, as I mentioned above, I have not been reading any of the threads on this new power so in a nutshell, I must ask why? Why now? What can I use this for other than for modeling walks down the runway..lol? Is walk in the baby stages and still in development? Is it because maybe other MMO's are using it so now CoX wanted it? Any new input on this new power would be insightful.
