Which "side" is leading the war?

Once GR hits live we'll be at war with three other sides now. Them being the Rikti, Recluse [villains] and now the Praetorians. One thing that has to be said about Paragon City is that we do put up a good fight no matter who the enemy is and are not afraid to take the fight to them [apart from the rikti, they is just crazy! ].

However, one thing that did just occur to me is which side is actually winning the constant war between now 4 different sides?

In my opinion, the Rikti are the side that are the best situated to be claimed as "winning" since they are the only side who purely havent had anybody else set a foothold in their world.

Heroes/villains already have praetorians and rikti setting up bases/constant invasions here.
Praetorians have heroes [and soon to be villains] invading them and setting up bases of operations.
Rikti? At the moment from what we can tell, nobody has set up an assault onto their world succesfull enough to be deemed worthy of mentioning [sure we closed their portal but that only delayed them a few years].

So when you think about it, heroes and villains are actually fighting a losing battle it seems and it might be time to jump ship and join a team that is better fitted to our needs for victory. So heres to being an official Praetorian in a few months time!

Heroes/Villains/Rikti . . . . . . the real war starts in 2010 . . . . . .

Nemesis is winning the war. Btw, you forgot the "Coming Storm" (Sometimes I think the Devs have forgotten about it too) so there is another side. City of Heroes is getting as bad as a Marvel crossover.

This is a service-oriented business, and it's all
about keeping the player happy over the long term.
So you have to listen and pay attention. If a large
portion of your playerbase is screaming about
some change, you be wise to listen. - Raph Koster

We arent really "at war" though with nemesis are we? I feel he is taken as basically, another criminal that must be stopped whenever he pops up. Sure he's always behind pratically everything but wouldnt say we are at WAR with him.

The coming storm is a war that we can see will happen in the future, it isnt currently happening [or is it?] and we cannot be at war with something that neither sides are attacking yet.

I still pick Praetoria to win

Technically from the perspective of the others(except maybe Praetoria) Paragon City has started the fighting.

Nemesis started the Rikti War.The way this was organized naturally the RIkti think they were attacked first, so a counter attack was necessary, this eventually leads to the Omega Team gambit.

Statesman lead an unfounded attack on a sovereign nation because his old enemy lives there. Naturally that can't be left to stand so a counter attack ensues(Cov launch)

Be glad Recluse hasn't gotten full U.N. support for his counter assault.

Recluse won't ever get U.N. support for anything, because even if the U.S. did not veto it, his public image is a failure. How do you sell the idea of helping a man who has giant spider legs, whose closest advisors include a ghost and a shark, and whose troops wear stereotypical red-and-black faceless helmets?

I'm picking Praetoria to win so I only have to work 4 days a week!

I'd put a bandage on one of his giant spider legs, explain that he is dedicated to equal opportunities employment, citing his inclusion of a ghost and shark on his staff as proof of this and promote the Arachnos uniforms at a fashion week...I'm thinking London, or maybe Milan.

@craggy see me on Union for TFs, SFs (please!) or just some good ol fashioned teaming.

What craggy said, plus point out that Arachnos employs both Men and Women in it's ranks(something the PPD fails to do)

My impression is that the Rikti are actually pretty impotent. They have their army cut off here, and any attempts at getting more are constantly foiled by Vanguard (see: Lady Grey TF)

That was my first thought too.

Sure it's a tyrannical regime where personal liberties are eroded by the State and the police force is used to control the population.

But 3 day weekends people. 3 day weekends!

Sure they do... I'm pretty certain there are low level missions that have female officers as contacts... maybe the cape mission.

Yup, cape mission: http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/City_Representative

She's a city official.
She's not PPD.

Most female officers seem to be player made.

Pff, but villains don't even need jobs. Rob a bank once a month and you're set.

Long live the seven-day weekend!

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

Well there is Hero 1 and the Alpha and Omega Gambit Team

But I think you have it right, I'd say Rikti have a lead but Heroes and Villains have enough numbers to defend ourselves.

The suggestion that the fringe terrorist group known as "The Resistance" even numbers more than a dozen-odd maladjusted sociopaths is ludicrous. To suggest that they even have a remote chance of "winning" is a disappointing thought pattern. However, Emperor Cole has never turned a blind eye to his children, and neither do those loyal to him.

When we find these people, and we will find them very soon, we will treat them with the respect and proper medical and neurological care that they deserve.

For the Emperor.

That is brilliant! I could easily see that as dialogue in GR!!

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

Never really thought that Nemesis is at war with the heroes. Sure he is the Architect of a few wars... (To those not done the mission i wont say, but do a mission of a certain Dark watcher)
He Is not interested in having Nemesis Rex or any other versions that are not him in "his" world. Well dimension anyway.
Now we don't know what kind of resources other versions like Nemesis Rex has, but that gate is closed. Our Nemesis has one resource that few other versions of him has... He got heroes that protects this world and having plans within plans, putting heroes against other versions of himself is well...
I say one thing for our version of Nemesis... Lucky git.

But yes, Primal Earth is pretty nosy and attracts the attention of many. It will be fun watching how the preatorean society really is.
With all the references to no-goatie dimension I got a little surprised since i've (and I have a felling im not the only one ) thought about lots of versions of my main characters and how they *could* be.
Now I got to rewrite it mostlikely... ;P

But there are no Kheldians in the isles other than Romulus who is a Warshade that works with Longbow.

Currently all of the Nictus in the Isles are a part of the Council.

You can't employ someone that isn't there :P
