My only real complaint is that the rep system is rather hopeless at accomplishing its set out goal. Too easily farmed for positive rep, and too easy to give negative rep to those that don't deserve it. Thus, I largely ignore rep ratings.
The other problem I have with it is the anonymity of rep comments means there is no way to respond to someones comments unless they leave their name (which 90% of the people who have left me rep comments have omitted).

I think the rep farmers and neg rep farmers are all doing a great job. They're mocking the idea that some anonymous public approval meter on an online forum can ever be a worthwhile gauge of character, and that ought to be applauded.

I'd bet that mods see a point to people being able to neg rep anonymously. And I hope they dont take it away. Or only take away the numerical values and allw for comments.
Just about every forum I've been too has always had people complaining that they cant disagree with poster xxx as they will get dogpiled by all thier friends.
Whether that viewpoint has any merit doesnt matter, there will be people who are not confident enough to 'risk the wrath of regulars' but still want to disagree.
I don't suffer from altitis, I enjoy every minute of it.
