All I can think of is replacing the dam/rech in Siphon Life with a dam/end.

You could take some slots out of fire blast if you don't use it much, since you have a good chain without it.

You could replace some of the lotg (not the 7.5s) with Cytoskeletons.

Is Dark Consumption not up enough for you?

I originally didn't have Siphon Life slotted for endurance and it was siphoning the life out of me HA HA! get it...siphon life...yeah.

Okay with that said I haven't tried out this build but I will definitely do that. Thanks!

Give me more suggestions!

Okay this is a newer build I've made and tested out and it performs well but not well enough. I am looking to obtain higher ddr and resistances, maintaining around the same recharge +/- 2 to 3%, maintain the same endurance consumption, maintain similar numbers +/- 15% in siphon life, I am willing to sacrifice some offense. Thank you

Hey Santorican

This is the build I'm toying with. I'm still not very happy about it, but this is as good as I could get it. I've given up on capping melee def by a few % but got higher resists in there to make up for the incoming damage somewhat.

I could have gotten higher def and more recovery if I was wiling to gimp the recharge but perma hasten and MG>Smite>SL being the normal attack chain peppered with Shield charge is too good to give up.

I used to slot SL like you did but desperately needed that extra 5% rech from the set to keep the global recharge up.

This is my current build (except for the +def PvP IO...) and i NEVER have any End dramas...ever.

When solo'n AV's drop a couple toggles that arnt needed, eg Deflection for Pylons and Tough for everything else. If your having end problems when fighting mobs then you must be doin sumfin wrong.

I'm curious how much you actually use the Blaze Mastery set powers already with the attack chain you've got with DM/SD. If those powers are using a lot of endurance, you might have a look at those. Your toggle powers seem, well ok, some endurance reduction but not a whole lot either.

As DM/SD, I took a different route with Body Mastery, which provides for physical perfection, so endurance is no longer an issue. But it also doesn't provide the Blaze Mastery AOE capability that you've built into your DM/SD scrapper.

Maybe you'll want take a look at each and every power you have and see which is taking up the most endurance in the toggles and attack chain and work on those (easy to check with the power attributes window up). I'm not familiar enough with your full set you have to say which, but it seems clear that you should reconsider a few specific slot IO sets with endurance in mind, as some here have already suggested. Nice build, btw, looks wicked! You've got some AOE built into the basic DM/SD build and I wonder if you might want to de-emphasize the slotting of one of your DM attacks in favor of improving endurance reduction in your epic set fire attacks.

With a single scapper, a DM/SD one at that, I find this an interesting thread in consideration of the balance between AOE capability and endurance reduction to support it.

I use Fire Ball only when there are large groups. Usually when I go through my AoE chain (Soul Drain > Shield Charge > Dark Consumption > Fire Ball) usually everything is fairly dead save a boss and a lonely lieutenent.

Yes Fire Ball does use up quite a bit of endurance and it is very noticeable when I spam Fire Ball. I have considered respecing out of Blaze Mastery and have a build for that where I do have Physical Perfection in it with Conserve Power. He'd be quiet a bit more rugged due to having increased resistances, regeneration, and defense debuff resistance but he'd also lose quite a bit of offense in not having Fire Blast and Fire Ball.

So I guess in the end it is a juggling game lol

Just looking, and given your attention to FB, you've got half an end-red in the Ragnorak set for the FB and that's it. Maybe all you need is another half or full end-red in the FB attack to smooth out your end problem, given your preferred attack cycle which includes FB (hey, I'd like that too!). Add a slot for that, take it from anywhere else, your pick.

If you're running MG - Smite - Siphon - Smite, siphon is worth about 40 hp/sec if you get it to about 90 percent heal enhancement, so I'd imagine with no +healing you'd be losing about 20 hp/sec. Siphon doesn't really need much +recharge. My DM/Shield has about 147 global recharge and I don't have any recharge slotted into it at all and it runs the chain just fine. Siphon only needs to come back within 4.62 (2x smite at 1.188 and 1x MG at 2.244) and your latest build has it at 2.97 which is way under.

I used the following slotting for my siphon and it's worked really well for me.
Touch of Nictus: Healing
Touch of Nictus: Acc/End/Heal
Hecatomb: Damage
Crushing Impact: Damage/Endurance
Golgi (heal/end)
Nucleolus (Acc/Dam)
which gives
54.5 accuracy
96.9 damage
79.9 end redux
92.83 healing
It recharges in 4.04 which is about .6 less than required.

I would definitely slot the hecatomb proc into MG in place of the damage and then move the damage IO to siphon. The proc is really really good, and replacing it only moves your damage in MG to 90 percent which is still excellent.

Not sure what kind of monster you're going for, but I've sacrificed recharge to become soft capped without dipping into fighting or leadership pools.

This build might look abit borked, but it is quite able. Mid's have a bug that seem to think that the 3.75% defense from phalanx fighting shouldn't stack with the set bonuses, but I promise, it's soft capped.

I would definitely slot the hecatomb proc into MG in place of the damage and then move the damage IO to siphon. The proc is really really good, and replacing it only moves your damage in MG to 90 percent which is still excellent.
I won't be at the ranged defense soft cap if I slot like that in the second build.

Heh. My original intention was to just say that not slotting SL for healing removes 20 hp/sec from the build, then I got carried away with numbers. Oooh, numbers. Shiny.

If you don't intend on doing silly things like pylons with two hazard zone spawns or similar things, I doubt you'd miss it.

Here's another stab at it.
I took the panaceas out of true grit (losing 7.5 recharge) - Replaced panaceas with 6 numina's for 3.75 ranged, moved the panacea proc to health.

Took a membrane out of AD (now .8 seconds off perma double stacked, reducing total def debuff resist by 7 percent) and moved one of the +3 def uniques to deflection.

Changed slotting on SL to the 3 golgi/3nuc you had in a previous build and exchanged the heca dmg for the hecatomb proc.

Wish I had that gladiator's +3... I can't justify spending 2 billion for it though. Maybe someday :P

I actually really like that build Igor. Also I got all of my PvP enhancements when they were a whole lot cheaper then they were now. I also farmed a lot in the arena before they changed the drop rates.

Howdy!

I am planning on rolling up a DM/Shield and was playing in Mids and came up with this. I don't know if has too many compromises from your original build, and as your initial post indicated, there will likely be end issues if you spam F-Ball.

It has +95% Acc pre-SD on all attacks, 318% regen(27.4 HP/sec), 2060 HP, 79.6 DDR (Double-stacked AD), and can run the MG - Smite - Siphon - Smite chain. Let me know what you think.

Do a search on siphon life slotting, there was a thread with a bunch of great examples on the best setups for that power. IMO, its the best power in DM now, and you're going to be spamming it, so if you're having end problems, getting the most end reduction in that power as possible is going to have a huge impact on your end usage. The way you have it slotted right now looks good, but if you're having end issues maybe theres a better set up that can save you some end (the switch to hec dmg/end that was suggested would definitely help).

Looking at your build, I'm surprised you're having end issues, outside of spamming your aoes. In that case, you might want to rework fireball and get more end reduction in there, even if you have to sacrifice the recharge bonus - that things eating 15 end every time you fire it.

Here's what I'm running currently. I think we have the same +recharge, and I'm at my wit's end as well. Would love to get some more recharge without sacrificing hp, regen, def debuff resist, dmg resistance, or soft cap.

Ok Sant, here's what I came up with. It meets all of your requirements and garners a whopping 162.5 recharge. The only real downside is that Dark Consumption isn't slotted for +End with this build. Let me know what you think.

Are you willing to get the 3% Def PVP IO? If so, it would create a good bit of wiggle room to squeeze in more recharge.
