Yeah....kind of the main feature that made I16 actually interesting for me again. Team nights, SGs, random pugs...much easier to just jump right into a team with. Couple it with the other changes, and things can be really interesting.

Bridge requests will, hopefully, but a complete thing of the past. Until they figure out a way around it

OMG! Awesome! I find this a welcome change, I don't care if it "makes it too easy". If I don't have to worry about my SK being in range or having enough mentors for the lowbies my life is better. It might also help during Iso's when a certain *cough*someone*cough* sets up wonky-level-ranged teams.

My first thought was ITFs... those will be a snap to put together now!

Don't think it will make the game "easier" in terms of XP or what not. Just teaming. You're still playing with the powers you currently have at your security level if "SK'd up" (lvl 35 SK'd up to 49/50 is only playing with powers they have at 35); they mention "fixing" the power loss when exemp'd, which is.....interesting. I didn't realize they considered it an issue to fix and just touted it as the balancing act while exemp'd. Hell yeah give me all my powers for Positron TF.

Since they are now publically talking about this feature, and on top of the other "big" issues they've already announced......I'm confused on what else they are holding back from public view in regard to I16 to consider it closed still. *shrug*

Oh, I was only talking about the ease of getting together a team. If a lvl 40 auto-SKs a team of lvl 5s that will still be a slaughterhouse. The beauty is there will be no real reason to do that.

I like this and then I don't like this. I like the idea that there is no more padding needed and that I won't get anymore bridge tells. What I do not like is that this is automatic. Basically because it is turning every single team into an AE mish. This is making it so there is no reason for level 3s not to team with 50s (which is something that may not happen often because of the hassle of organizing sks). I dunno, maybe I am just cynical, but I kind of like that people of near the same level teamed together and then sked friend's if they needed to. Now I just forsee a bunch of lower levels trying to get on high level teams. This is an option I would definitely use sometimes (read as ITF, lgtf, respec trials, ozone tfs or anything with a large level spread), but would like it to be optional to turn on and off, not automatic.

Benefits and drawbacks I suppose. The difficulty changer is awesome though!

Read the whole thing and I'm more excited about turning off email.

The SK changes will make it harder to PL characters, but then I rarely did this on any of my characters.

I've long since learned my lesson about disagreeing with Voodoo, but I took this a different way. Hell yeah I'd be all for keeping all my powers while EXd, but from the way I read the post, it seemed like they were only interested in you not losing the last one or two powers or so.
Say, you're on a team of 29-32 players. A level 31 is the leader and holds the mission, so now those level 32 players lose their Granite Armors, Golden Dragonflys, and Fulcrum Shifts. That seemed like what they were trying to fix, just the small-range of teams. On second thought, maybe the mission holder could raise their effective difficulty to a virtual 32 or 33; then would the 32s get their powers back?

*Disclaimer: This is not a rebuttal to Voo, nor is it an indication that I disagree with his thoughts or opinions. I only interpreted something that we read differently than he.

Also I've been telling Ele for weeks now that it seems like the way the Devs are going to go about killing AE farming is just to make it way more profitable to farm real content again.

I sure as hell know that's what I'm gonna do. Bridges or no bridges, I <3 my demons.

I have no idea what they are doing with exemping; as I said, I had no idea they were thinking of changing it / thought it was something to fix at all. I just want to wreck havoc throughout Positron with everything I got. AFAIK, that tid bit was not addressed...elsewhere.

This should be pretty nice. Having just gone through the woes of finding enough 40s or high 30s people to play on my Tina Macintyre and Maria Jenkins teams in the mid-40s, this will make things a lot nicer. I won't have to worry about inviting a 50 as I have no one to exemp them with, or wonder what level the person is at that is wanting in on my team, etc.

The e-mail feature will be nice as well.

I wasn't very keen on the "more xp for the first 20 levels" feature. Those already race by fast enough... it seems like a cop out for them providing a more meaty/good response. Rather than adding a feature for endurance that's similar to the accuracy buff for the first 20 levels, improving the content there, or adjusting the absolute need for Stamina on most build, etc., they've just chosen to do the easy thing. It's something of a backfire how easy XP can be in this game... 50s are starting to get meaningless, as well as 2xp weekends. Perhaps that will change with their ideas for more content at level 50, but I always liked how CoX was about the entire journey, not just the end game.

I think the point is most people hate the journey from 1 to 20. I think the player-base would be happy if they just got an "I'm 20!" button and they could start their careers from there.

Super Sidekicking = awesome for TFs/SFs. Now when we run them we wont have to deal with people trying to get in on the lowest possible level and then saying "If I run into problems I will sk up ok?" Now if only there was a way to make people slot up their charcters, I don't mean IO'd or Purpled out but just SOs or heck even DOs, just dont run characters with blanks.

Does that seriously happen frequently where you encounter blank characters? In my BDTF's I've really only come across one, and we were able to help him slot out so he could attend.

I like the fact that there's no more SK 'tether.' Now when SKed to someone you won't spontaneously die when your mentor is halfway across the map. Not like I know anyone who does that!

Sir, That NEVER happens. Especially not on any team we've been on recently. Nosirree. Never. Nope.

Never, for example, does a certain scrapper go left when everyone else goes right and un-SK me and I get plastered by a Cyclops EB that's 17 levels higher than me. Never happened. Nope. And I'm insulted that you would even suggest such a travesty.

(just kidding, it hasn't happened to me recently. Much. )

Semi on subject, I feel out of the loop with news since Dev digest went down at badge-hunter. Is there another somewhere or do I have to super-stalk to find news? My daily links in my toolbar takes me straight to Victory Forums, and I rarely back out to the rest of the forums. They're scary.

You needed to run missions on 2XP with DC to make enough money to get SOs? Never, ever let anyone make fun of your playing ability again, Toril.

And yeah, I wish they'd fix Dev Digest as well... feeling quite out of the loop. Supposedly you can search for the devs by name, but I like having it all in one spot.

I think the boost to xp 1-20 is just stupid and rediculous. If that goes into effect, that'll be a grand 40% increase to xp in those levels since initial launch, not to mention the debt sliced in half and no debt till 10 instead of 4. For god's sake, if we're going to make it this easy, just give them the damn "insta-20" button (this is called sarcasm, devs. please take note of it).

As for the sk bit, I'll wait and see. Easier to form some of the TFs, but like FMP said, I'm not thrilled this is automatic. Will cut down significantly on the borea runs during 2xp... hmm. I'd say change it, make it a button on the team window for the team leader's choice... though that defeats the whole idea of destroying bridging.
